Job description

The Housing First Support officer is to work within our Support Team in conjunction with East Staffordshire Borough Council in delivering the ‘Housing First’ scheme.

Housing First is a globally-recognised approach to addressing rough sleeping.  It is a model which prioritises access to stable accommodation over the requirement for an individual to first address any other support needs they have (i.e. it does not require the person to be ‘tenancy ready’).  The offer of housing and support are separate and enables people to sustain their accommodation and begin their transition to living off the streets.

As a support officer you will provide intense support and be responsible for agreeing and implementing a robust action plan with the individuals and coordinating external agencies to ensure positive outcomes.

We are looking for someone who has the ability to motivate and effect change in difficult circumstances.  You will need to be a highly motivated individual who is able to work independently and under pressure.

A full driving licence and vehicle are essential for the role. The successful candidate will require an enhanced DBS check.

Closing date for applications is 14 February 2025.

We welcome applications from all sections of the community.
