About us

Who we are

YMCA DownsLink Group is a registered charity working to transform communities across Sussex and Surrey so that all young people and families can belong, contribute and thrive.

Our work covers a wide range of areas including accommodation, general advice, sexual exploitation, mental health, housing advice, childcare, counselling, mentoring, and apprenticeships.

Every year we reach over 10,000 children, young people, and families through projects that run across our local communities.

Our projects provide services covering a range of areas including:

  • Support and advice
  • Counselling
  • Mental health
  • Mentoring
  • Sexual exploitation
  • Youth clubs

Our culture and values

We welcome: all who need space to feel secure, respected, heard and valued

We inspire: people to realise their full potential

We support: people to maximise opportunity and choice

We speak out: on the issues that are important to children and young people and help them find their own voice

YMCA DownsLink Group is proud to be a member of the federation of YMCA England and Wales. We contribute to their vision and purpose: An inclusive Christian movement transforming communities so that all young people can belong, contribute and thrive.

Equality, diversity and inclusion policy

We are striving to build an inclusive workplace where all employees and volunteers feel valued and respected. We’re committed to policies and practices of equity, diversity, and inclusion across everything we do.  We support all our people to make sure their behaviour is consistent with this commitment.

We encourage applications from people from all sections of the communities that we serve. We particularly welcome applications from People of Colour and minoritised white communities, people who are LGBTQU+, and people with disabilities and neurodiversities because these groups are currently under-represented in our workforce.
