Role Summary

The Volunteer Development Officer plays a crucial role in supporting LJWB’s charity mission to positively change lives. This role will ensure the volunteering team continues to provide a positive experience for our team of nearly 240 volunteers, ensuring they feel valued and are effectively contributing to the organisation’s work.

Key responsibilities

• You will develop and implement strategies to recruit volunteers from diverse backgrounds.
• You will create engaging material and campaigns to attract potential volunteers.
• You will design and facilitate training sessions for new volunteers, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
• You will conduct regular check-ins with volunteers to assess their satisfaction and address any issues.

Requirements

• Proven experience in volunteer management or community engagement

· A confident, enthusiastic and accurate communicator both verbal and written.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for storytelling.

· High level of organisational skills with a great attention to detail.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

· Experience of Volunteer Database management system

The Administrators wish to appoint a Secretary and Chief Executive Officer to assist them in the management of the Fund’s affairs and the strategic development and operational oversight of its two Cemeteries.

This is a part-time position (three days per week, with flexible hours to be agreed) offering a salary of £30,000 - £36,000 per annum (£50,000-£60,000 pro rata). The role is well-suited to remote working, with regular visits to the cemeteries required.

About the Secular Clergy Common Fund

The Fund was established around 1701 and is a charity providing grants to support sick and retired Catholic priests in the South-East of England, who are the members of the Fund. The Fund also looks after two Victorian Catholic cemeteries in London. The six Administrators of the Fund are elected by the members and act as Trustees of the charity.

Key Responsibilities

1. To provide leadership for and line management of the Fund and its cemeteries, in line with strategies and policies developed in partnership with the Administrators.

2. Together with the Chief Administrator, to enable the Administrators to fulfil their duties and responsibilities for the proper governance of the charity and to ensure that they receive timely advice and appropriate information on all relevant matters.

3. To administer the grant making and membership activities of the Secular Clergy Common fund, in line with the rules of the Fund and in the light of the decisions of the Administrators.

Key Tasks

1. Governance

· To act as the clerk and executive officer for the Administrators of the Fund.

o To clerk meetings of the Administrators (3 or 4 per year).

o Liaison with Auditors, Investment Managers, Bankers, Solicitors, Health and Safety Adviser, Charity Commission, Companies House, HMRC, and others as directed or agreed with the Administrators.

o To report significant matters in a timely manner to the Chief Administrator.

· To assist the Administrators in review of their operational and strategic risks and the implementation and monitoring of measures arising from this.

· To advise the Administrators on the strategic development of the charity.

· To ensure that the charity fulfils all its legal, statutory and regulatory responsibilities

o To periodically review the charity’s arrangements for Employment, GDPR and Health and Safety other significant areas and present recommendations to the Administrators to bring them up to date.

2. Secular Clergy Common Fund (‘The Fund’)

· To maintain records of members, including correspondence for admission of new members and receipt of subscriptions.

· To liaise with the Administrators for the making of grants.

· To make payments of grants and other dues on behalf of the Fund.

· To receive donations and legacies on behalf of the Administrators.

· To maintain financial records for the Fund

o Including of investment portfolio transactions as advised by Investment Managers (HSBC Private Bank).

· To arrange the AGM and dinner.

3. St Mary’s & St Patrick’s Cemeteries

· To act as line manager for the two cemeteries and work closely with the Cemetery Manager.

· To assist the Administrators in developing a medium- to long-term strategy for the cemeteries.

· To manage the strategic development of the cemeteries as financially sustainable ‘places of rest and hope, comfort to the living, signs of their hope for unending life’.

· To assist the Cemetery Manager in development of action plans for the cemeteries, agree them with the Administrators and support their implementation.

· To ensure that all policies and procedures for the cemeteries are up to date and compliant with all relevant areas of legislation and regulation, and reflective of good practice, reviewing and developing them as appropriate and agreeing key policies with the Administrators.

· To assist with accounting and finance for the cemeteries, possibly including accounting, payments and payroll.

· To address issues concerning the cemeteries which the Cemetery Manager has been unable to resolve.

Person Specification.

The post-holder should be able to:

ROLE PURPOSE

The Fundraising Officer will be a vital member of the Mass Fundraising team, responsible for supporting all activity across Community and Events. They will be instrumental in supporting the Community and Events team to achieve our income targets and grow Community & Events from £400,000 to £550,000 over the next five years and by 29/30.

This role will focus on providing exceptional stewardship, delivering a calendar of community and events fundraising, and ensuring accurate data management to enhance donor engagement. Working with the Community and Events Manager you will be responsible for marketing our fundraising challenge events to ensure they provide a positive ROI. You will be a key point of contact for 200+ fundraisers who take part in fundraising events each year, as well as develop our community income stream proactively securing 10+ partnerships with local businesses/schools.

The ideal candidate will cultivate long-lasting relationships with individual supporters, promote fundraising opportunities, and help deliver impactful events, all while maintaining the highest standards of stewardship.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Events Fundraising

• Assist in the planning and execution of a diverse range of fundraising events, including challenge events and community initiatives.
• Support the management of event logistics, including participant communication, volunteer coordination, and on-the-day activities.
• Work with the Community and Events Manager to ensure a minimum 3:1 Return On Investment for challenge event fundraisers.
• Collaborate with external partners and suppliers to ensure smooth event operations and build strong relationships for future collaboration.

Community Fundraising

• Lead outreach efforts to engage at least 10 new local community partners, such as businesses, schools, and clubs, promoting fundraising opportunities and supporting their initiatives.
• Provide stewardship for in-memory and in-celebration fundraisers, ensuring they receive the information and support needed to maximise their fundraising potential.

Supporter Care

• Serve as the primary point of contact for 200+ community and events fundraisers, delivering outstanding stewardship that enhances their experience with the charity.
• Provide timely and effective follow-up communications with supporters, ensuring they feel valued and engaged.
• Process cash and cheque donations for Community & Events income, including ensuring this income is processed and recorded accurately on our database which may include batch uploads.
• Provide front desk coverage, welcoming visitors and donors at the Welcome Office and serving as a friendly and helpful representative of the organisation for 2-3 days/week.
• Maintain accurate records in our CRM (Raiser’s Edge) to track communications, income, and supporter preferences, ensuring compliance with GDPR and data protection laws.
• Continuously evaluate and suggest improvements to the supporter journey, aiming to enhance retention and engagement.

Administrative and Financial Support

• Process incoming donations and ensure timely acknowledgment and thank-you communications to all supporters.
• Work closely with the finance and data teams to reconcile donations, maintain accurate records, and support budget management for community and event fundraising activities.
• Assist in developing and adhering to fundraising budgets, tracking income, and ensuring effective expenditure management.

Marketing and Communication

• Create engaging materials and content to inspire participation in fundraising activities and distribute these to potential supporters. This could include posters, social media posts, newsletters.
• Ensure Community and Events associated webpages are kept up to date.

Other Requirements

Key Responsibilities
As part of the PBA Finance Team and leading the team, the Financial Advisor plays a critical role in maintaining the financial health of PBA, offering strategic advice, ensuring compliance, and overseeing day-to-day financial operations. The Financial Advisor works closely with PBA’s Accounts administrator.
Key responsibilities are:

• Work with the core team on the annual Business Planning process and help devise and produce the annual Budget.
• Assist in the compilation and analysis of the Approval and circulation of monthly /quarterly financial and management accounts, including a brief narrative report.
• Offer high level advice and guidance in support of and to help achieve the targets set out in the Business Plan.
• Act as one Authorised Signatory on all bank accounts and manage relationships with external financial institutions and banking partners.
• Oversee and liaise with auditors for the annual audit and other matters as required from time to time.
• Ensure VAT compliance and reporting.
• Be familiar with the cover afforded by all insurance policies and provide information on matters that may affect cover. Ensure appropriate insurance policies are in place and up to date.

About the role

Data underpins everything we do. We’re looking for a Senior Database Officer with exceptional data management and analytical skills to ensure our data is structured, maintained, and utilised effectively across the organisation.

In this key role, you’ll work closely with teams across fundraising and communications, using your expertise in data analysis, segmentation, and reporting to drive strategic decision-making. Your insights will help optimise engagement, retention, and stewardship across our supporter base.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Floating Support Worker to provide high quality practical and emotional support to survivors of domestic abuse and their children living in our dispersed refuge accommodation in Warwickshire. This service will provide emergency accommodation across Warwickshire with high-quality domestic abuse support, ‘by-and-for’ services for survivors of domestic abuse and their children. 

The post holder will provide high quality support and safety planning to survivors and their children who are fleeing domestic abuse. This includes enabling survivors to access housing, welfare, benefits and legal advice.  A key requirement is to provide personal welfare support and to ensure that survivors are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment in accordance with Refuge’s philosophical principles.

The Floating Support Worker (FSW) will carry a caseload of survivors of domestic abuse to enable them to provide a more holistic and intensive support package. They will work closely with survivors from the point of crisis through to move on from the emergency accommodation. FSWs will work in partnership with both statutory and voluntary sector partners to ensure that the whole range of survivors’ needs are met.

As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.

Job Definition

In this role, you will:

• Manage the switch from our Django CMS to a (ready to launch) Wagtail CMS.

• Deliver new features to our Wagtail CMS and website functionality.

The interview panel will be Jon Chittenden, Product Manager (Supporter Experience), James McMinn, Senior Software Engineer, Laura Dewis, Chief Operations Officer and Mark Frankel, Head of Public Affairs.

The process starts off with an anonymised covering letter and CV. This will be read by at least two people to produce a shortlist for interview.

The first round interviews will be a phone (not video) interview, lasting no more than half an hour, at a time that’s convenient for you. We will record it so at least two people can review each interview to decide who we invite back for the second round. The recordings will be deleted at the end of the process.

The second round will include a structured technical interview and discussion where you’ll have the opportunity to talk about some work you are proud of and find out about how we work at Full Fact.

The final interview will be with the full panel by video and last no more than an hour. We’ll tell you everything you need to know to prepare, including anything we’d recommend reading in advance.

The role

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, this second-lead senior management role supports the CEO in delivering the organisations business strategy. As the statutory service lead for Greenwich Carers Centre, the role is responsible for ensuring the contract compliant delivery of a small portfolio of non-regulated local authority funded services that provide front line support to carers within the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

The role deputises for the Chief Executive and leads a dedicated staff team actively providing essential emotional and practical support to carers across the borough. As the second most senior post in the organisation, the role engages with stakeholders and influences, shapes and informs across most aspects of the charity’s day-to-day operations. By working with the CEO and external fundraising colleagues the role helps to shape the charity by informing the development of grant funded programmes that; provide specialist support to carers, add value to our statutory services, and extend our charity by building upon a consistent level of notable business achievement.

Statutory Services Lead

To manage a small portfolio of Greenwich-based statutory carer support contracts Greenwich Carers Centre do not provide CGC regulated services. We currently hold three statutory service contracts, highest value service = 400k per annum.

To ensure quality and manage the delivery of services in relation to contract

To ensure services are

·To ensure Charity Log and KPI service monitoring systems are maintained and updated

To report quarterly on service performance via written local authority report, board paper submission and whole-team Quarterly Review Meetings

To assist in the occasional development of local authority tenders and lead on service set-up in response to contract award

To ensure support staff are compliance trained, supported, monitored and supervised

To act as the organisational lead for reporting Safeguarding concerns

Deputising for the Chief Executive

To act as lead manager when the Chief Executive away from the centre, on leave, or otherwise absent.

Involvement and engagement

To ensure carers inform continuous service improvement through the feedback and evaluation of services

To support co-production through carer engagement

To support the set-up of a Carers Committee to inform and shape the operational environment of Greenwich Carers Centre. Once established, to be the senior management contact for the committee.

·To annually review the organisations carer engagement strategies and ensure output requirements are built into project and service delivery.

Marketing and communications

To be an advocate for local carers, speaking locally and regionally on their behalf via a national carers network, and, on occasion by engaging with local media 

To support and inform the development of marketing materials

To represent the organisation when dealing with stakeholders, voluntary sector partners and the wider community

To regularly attend meetings of the Carer Partnership Board as representative of Greenwich Carers Centre To support the charity’s community engagement activities

General

We are looking for a Societies Development Coordinator to provide accurate, consistent and innovative support to the 400+ clubs and societies, committees and volunteers. The National Pro Bono Centre brings together charities dedicated to the providing pro bono legal services and improving access to justice.   We serve as a central resource for charities who help people seeking free legal advice and representation.  Our work fosters collaboration, coordination, and improved service delivery among stakeholders in the pro bono sector. Through our work, the Centre supports the wide range of pro bono projects and brokerage which charities provide; helping individuals and communities all over England and Wales get access to justice.

The role:

The ideal candidate will also demonstrate excellent operational and administrative skills and will be comfortable working regularly in a physical office setting. You will report to the Executive Director (who also works part time) and work alongside a small team consisting of the Project Director, the Head of Communications and Community Development, the Operations Manager and the Regional Pro Bono Support Officers.  You will also get to know our dedicated and friendly board of trustees and our freelance consultants.

Key Responsibilities:

Events Coordination:

• Assist in organising key London events for the National Pro Bono Centre, including:
  • The Commercial Litigators’ Forum (CLF) reception and other evening events and
  • Pro Bono Week events in early November.
• Collaborate with event leads and key stakeholders to define event objectives and support requirements.
• Serve as the main point of contact for speakers and attendees, providing logistical support leading up to and on the day of the events.

Justice Hub Management:

• Bring vision and energy to make the Hub an exciting, collaborative space for access to justice charities.
• Act as the key liaison point for the Founding Members and other organisations using the Justice Hub, managing desk and room bookings.
• Coordinate with the International Dispute Resolution Centre, where the Hub is based, in relation to the operational and administrative management of the Hub.
• Oversee booking systems, health and safety procedures, and office management for the Hub.

It is also anticipated that you will combine both aspects of this role in organising future events at the Justice Hub, bringing together key people from across the legal charity sector to collaborate and share ideas and best practice.

About you:

We are looking for someone with 2 to 4 years proven event management experience and strong office management knowledge. 

As part of the role, you will be required to work in the office at least 2 days per week, with the flexibility to travel to London for supplier and venue meetings when required.

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and qualities:

• Ability to build positive relationships with key stakeholders, charities, and both current and future users of the Hub. 
• Ability to work proactively and on your own initiative, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency, including for others. 
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Experience in setting up and improving administrative systems, particularly in relation to IT and office management.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail with excellent written and oral communication skills.
