We are looking for a Funding Officer to join our team in Wales.  This is a fixed term, full time post until March 2026 (open to a conversation on flexible working and job share) 

Depending on your location and preference, you will be based in either the Cardiff or Newtown office. You are welcome to be based in the office full time, or a combination of home and office working. You will need to travel within Wales to work with community groups and charities, and to other offices across the UK to work with colleagues. 

As a Funding Officer serving our Mid & West Wales region, (Bridgend, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Neath Port Talbot, Pembrokeshire, Powys and Swansea).

• You will assess requests for funding and manage grants using local knowledge, best practice, thematic expertise, and the experience of customers and stakeholders to improve our grant making and inform our decision making. By working closely with people and communities, you will understand what matters to them and where our funding can make the biggest difference.
• You will be responsible for supporting local people and communities in Bridgend and Neath Port Talbot, and have a strong understanding of our vision, being able to adapt your approach to the wishes of the people you are working with.
• You’ll also need to support our stakeholders, helping them to make connections that will help them achieve their goals.
• You will be responsible for the pipeline of projects in Bridgend and Neath Port Talbot, understanding and responding to the different needs of our customers by providing advice and considered feedback, and be willing to have challenging but constructive conversations. Funding Officers will ensure our grant management and assessment play an effective part in contributing to the Fund’s knowledge and learning as a grant maker.
• You will manage your own caseload, liaise with grant recipients, undertake project visits, identify and manage risk, supporting organisations to deliver their projects and measure their impact.

As Youth Voice & Engagement Manager, you will work with our Youth Voice Consultant, the team and young people to take a hands-on role in delivering, expanding and embedding these initiatives.

Your Role

Programme Leadership & Delivery

• Coordinate Power UP! - Plan, manage, and deliver activities including youth-led research, grant-making, internships and leadership opportunities.
• Run YEP! (Youth Empowerment Pathway) – Oversee this 3-month, 8-session programme, supporting external facilitators and guiding participants toward deeper engagement with and understanding of YWF.
• Mentor Youth Associates – Recruit, train and support young consultants leading change within YWF and their communities.
• Design & Deliver Workshops – Use a range of methods (including coordinating external facilitators) to engage young people, particularly those facing barriers such as language or social exclusion.

• Represent YWF at different public and professional settings, events and opportunities around youth voice, showcasing our work and approach.
• Champion Youth-Led Change – Work with the team to advocate for young people’s involvement in governance and policy within YWF and across Westminster.

Programme Management & Evaluation

• Measure Impact – Work with the Youth Voice Consultant and Evaluation and Data Specialist to use creative evaluation techniques to track the outcomes of Power UP!, ensuring activities lead to meaningful change.
• Manage Logistics – Oversee scheduling, coordination and reporting for all programme activities.
• Manage payments and budgets – manage an activities budget for the YEP! Programme, including overseeing facilitator costs and payments for young people

Job Summary

Taking a leading role as part of the Individual Giving management team, you play an important part in helping to achieve a step change in the growth of the net voluntary income of St John. The role will work closely across Individual Giving and the wider Fundraising Directorate to develop an evolving supporter acquisition strategy that will aim to recruit new supporters with a focus on digital. The role needs to focus on managing the implementation of the strategy including using insight and data to develop, implement, manage, monitor and evaluate campaigns across a range of channels, with a cutting edge and contemporary approach whilst staying current with the continuously changing legislation and support climate. Responsibilities include working with agencies and suppliers to project manage the full cycle of direct marketing campaigns.

About You

• Significant experience in a third sector direct marketing role
• Track record in managing effective digital campaigns on a national or regional basis
• Experience of using fundraising databases e.g. Raiser’s Edge, Microsoft Dynamics or similar
• Extensive experience of using a variety of fundraising channels including digital, email social media, direct mail, telemarketing and SMS
• Experience of leading a revenue generating team, including generation of six figure acquisition income 

About the Role

• Oversee the supporter acquisition programme, taking responsibility for outstanding donor recruitment with the highest standard of quality and compliance and ensuring a diverse programme mix; ensuring they are in market on time, on budget and on brand.
• Develop an annual plan of acquisition activity; monitoring and analysing all campaign results, with ongoing test and learn mechanisms in place to drive continuous improvement and making recommendations for future activity to effectively maximise income and ROI

The Geological Society Publishing House has an exciting new opportunity within the publishing operations team for a Publishing Operations Assistant to implement workflow and development updates across our range of publishing operation systems. This is an early career role with the opportunity to progress current skills and understanding.

To collaborate with the Head of Publishing Operations (HoPO) and the Publishing Platform Manager (PPM) working on the range of publishing systems utilized in-house for the successful publication of the Society’s portfolio of titles, from submission through peer review to final online publication.

Key accountabilities

Manuscript submission system administration:

• Implementing workflow and development updates within our chosen ‘manuscript submission, reviewing and production tracking’ system.
• Overseeing and troubleshooting day-to-day issues with the manuscript submission system and its linked third-party vendors.
• Work with colleagues to assess any new opportunities for digital solutions (such as research integrity tools) within the STM publishing arena.

Publishing platform support:

We’re looking for a proactive professional to support our mission to transform loneliness into connection among isolated people and under-served groups in Tower Hamlets. In this hybrid role, you’ll have the chance to own and drive forward Globe Community Project’s communications strategy, taking a proactive approach to campaigns and initiatives, social media and supporter engagement, and meeting targets to inform, grow and reward our supporter base.

You’ll be joining the charity at a time of growth, and there’s scope for you to make a huge impact on our ability to reach and connect even more isolated people. As a loneliness charity, our communications are key.

The role

In an exciting note role within TEP, we are recruiting our first Marketing Manager. The successful candidate will have an excellent track record of designing and managing marketing and communications campaigns with impact.

Working closely with TEP Directors and ImpactEd Group Directors you will develop, implement and manage the communications and marketing activity for TEP as we build awareness and uptake of The Engagement Platform across the country and internationally.

About this job

We’re seeking a skilled Purchase Ledger with a passion for accuracy and efficiency to manage the processing and payment of invoices, credit notes, expenses, and other payments through our purchase ledger system. In this vital role, you’ll handle a high volume of transactions using Compleat purchase ordering software and our accounting system (currently Dynamics GP, likely to transition to Microsoft Business Central soon).

You’ll be responsible for ensuring all invoices and expenses are legitimate, accurately matched, and approved in line with our policies and procedures. Acting as the primary contact for suppliers, (including managing the accounts payable mailbox) you’ll ensure that all queries are dealt with promptly and efficiently and that the turnaround between receipt and payment of invoices is in line with what has been agreed with the supplier. You’ll ensure payments are processed on time and prepare bulk BACS payment runs, reconcile supplier statements, and assist with verifying supplier details.

Our Governance Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating all governance work, providing support to the Board, CEO and Executive Team in all matters relating to governance and in particular for the Board and Committee meetings.

We are looking for an individual with experience of working strategically at a place based and/or locality level within the South West region. Someone who can positively influence local developments, systems and investments to tackle the inequalities disabled people face in sport and activity through inclusive practice.

The successful candidate will work remotely from home and be based in the South West region. This role will involve travel across the region and occasional travel to our Loughborough and Manchester offices.

This role is full-time (36 hours) and permanent.

Purpose of the post 

The Warehouse Supervisor plays an essential role in the smooth running of the Vale Lane warehouse, supporting all aspects of the food operation. 

You will work as part of a team to effectively support the warehouse operation, incoming goods, storage and dispatch of goods to Community Food Members (CFMs) to high levels of compliance and service. This role will include working with a large and diverse team of volunteers throughout the week.  

The role will be primarily based at our South Bristol warehouse, where alongside our usual food redistribution operation and volunteering programme, we run our youth employability programme FareChance for 18 to 25-year-olds to develop logistics and workplace experience.

Duties and responsibilities: 

Warehouse  

• Ensure the smooth running of food intake, storage, and food distribution, liaising with food industry representatives, FSUK, distribution companies and hauliers. 

• Support the South Bristol Hub Manager in coordinating and maintaining the fleet of vans and machinery. 

• Provide ongoing support to the South Bristol Hub Manager to ensure high levels of compliance in the warehouse throughout the year and for internal/external audits. 

• As part of the warehouse team, reduce waste and maximise the distribution of surplus food to members. 

• Report to the South Bristol Hub Manager with operational improvements to increase efficiency and implement agreed changes. 

Volunteers and FareChance  

• Oversee (under the direction of the South Bristol Hub Manager) FareChance participants, regular volunteers and corporate volunteers on warehouse shifts, delegating/assigning tasks, and supervising work to ensure all tasks completed effectively. 

• Support and train all FareChance participants and volunteers with their allocated warehouse/job-specific tasks/roles

• Supporting the FareChance participants’ and volunteer’s health, safety, and welfare during their shift. 

• Undertake continual professional development e.g. training in mental health, active listening, coaching, safeguarding, inclusive practice etc 

• Provide positive role modelling to FareChance participants and volunteers while undertaking warehouse tasks together. 

Goods In and Storage 

• Follow FSSW goods-in procedures including liaising with suppliers, completing relevant paperwork, using inhouse software and fork-lifting duties. 

• Ensure pickable and non-pickable areas are ready to receive good in and dispatch orders at all times. 

• Manage storage of stock within the warehouse, including: 

• Assisting with stock checks 

• Ensuring effective stock rotation and sharing best practice  

• Oversee the dispatch of goods through deliveries and collections ensuring all FSSW procedures are followed. 

• Liaise with the wider FSSW team and FSUK to report quality, quantities, and other issues.  

Compliance and Health & Safety 

• Operate according to the FSUK HACCP Food Safety Manual and FSSW compliance standards and processes.  

• Support the South Bristol Hub Manager to ensure compliance with relevant food hygiene, health & safety, and other standards applicable to FSSW premises, vehicles, refrigeration equipment, staff, and volunteers. 

• Undertake relevant training in food hygiene, safeguarding and health & safety 

General 

• Respond to/answer any enquiries/communications via telephone, email, in person or via inhouse IT/systems. 

• Engage positively with any visitors to the warehouse. 

• Support FSSW events. 

• Carry out any other duties that may reasonably be required in support of the main purpose of the role, including liaising with the wider FSSW team. 

• Uphold high quality care and standards of conduct when dealing with all stakeholders and the general public. 

• Support the security of the FSSW sites and assets. 

• Driving and fork-lifting duties where appropriate.

Essential  

• Ability to develop, initiate and maintain systems and procedures  

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Problem solver and competent decision maker  

• Full UK driving licence  

• IT competent and able to use various IT platforms/systems  

• A clear commitment to the ethos of FSSW, and to the agreed plans of the organisation, and able to positively contribute towards its achievement   

• Experience and knowledge of adhering to health and safety standards 

• Forklift truck operator’s qualification (or willing to train as an essential part of the role)  

Desirable  

• 1 years’ experience of working in warehousing operations   

• Voluntary sector experience   

• Experience of working with people who require support  

• Experience of working within a food operation   

• Qualification in Food & Hygiene Level 2   

• Experience of supervising/managing staff and/or volunteers and delegating tasks  

• Experience of delivering training
