About us
Who we are
Praxis is a dynamic, award-winning human rights charity supporting migrants in crisis or at-risk, ensuring that their essential human needs are met and that they are able to overcome the barriers they face.
We have more than 38 years of experience working with migrant communities, and 2021 we supported around 2,254 people through expert legal advice, housing and peer support.
Our holistic approach supports people away from a point of crisis and destitution towards safety, economic independence, social engagement and greater emotional wellbeing.
Our culture and values
At Praxis we provide expert support to migrants and refugees in the UK. Every year we help some 2,000 people through immigration advice and peer support groups. We take a holistic approach recognising that people are complex, and so are their problems. Our services have evolved over time, adapting to the changing needs and circumstances of our users.
We have become the leading expert in finding pathways out of destitution and supporting migrants facing homelessness, as well as survivors of trafficking and domestic violence, young people, EU citizens and long term residents struggling to find the support they need.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
At Praxis, we work to build community, challenge exclusion and discrimination, influence policy and improve services. We played a leading role in exposing the Windrush scandal and advocate and campaign for lasting changes to policy and practice to address the root causes of the issues faced by at-risk migrants
About our commitment: We are an equal opportunity employer and strongly encourage applications from those with lived experience of migration, and from diverse applicants regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marital/civil partnership status, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, or pregnancy/maternity leave status.
