About us
Who we are
Groundswell is a registered charity, which exists to enable homeless people to take more control of their lives, have a greater influence on services and to play a full role in our community.
Since 1996 Groundswell have been supporting homeless people to be involved in delivering solutions to homelessness – including peer research, client involvement and health.
Our work includes the Homeless Health Peer Advocacy service which supports homeless people to address their health needs and our Insight and Action Programme which takes a radical grassroots approach to uncovering the issues faced by homeless people and crucially, develops achievable solutions.
Groundswell’s Core Beliefs
We believe:
- The whole community benefits when we effectively tackle homelessness and social exclusion.
- We believe in people! People are society’s most valuable resource, and everyone has the capacity to make a contribution.
- There is no Them & Us – only Us! Groundswell brings everyone together to create
genuine solutions to homelessness. - Participation works! Supporting homeless people to participate creates more effective services and policy - and crucially enables people to move out of homelessness.
