The Role:

About Us:
Evolve Counselling is a long-established charitable social enterprise, providing low cost, affordable or funded mental health counselling to adults in mainly Cambridgeshire and surrounding counties. Our counselling community is made up of 50 – 60 qualified self-employed practitioners, working part-time. We deliver talking therapies to adults – online and in person. Our service delivers around 500 counselling sessions per month to a broad range of individuals, many of whom would not otherwise be able to access counselling support. Evolve also provides supervision, reflective practice, critical incident support, and mental health awareness and related training, to organisations and businesses large and small.
What We’re Looking For:
Our Trustee Board is currently drawn from the counselling and therapies community, plus commercial and other charity backgrounds. Now, with crucial development of the CIO ahead, we are looking for new members to expand the Board to its maximum ten places and to gain skills and insight from an equal, diverse and inclusive group that takes in business skills, knowledge of charities, and experience of not-for-profit finances to make growth plans a reality.
The Board will keep us on track with good governance through oversight of our work, and will also help our keen new CEO to secure a sound financial base from which to grow our operations to meet the ever-increasing demand for our services.

Street Support Network connects local people and organisations in order to support those experiencing, and at risk of experiencing homelessness.
Our website is an online hub to find out about homelessness, see what support is available, and see what you can do to help.

Who are we looking for?

Trustee Terms
If your application is successful, we see the first few months being a time where we can both get a feel for whether we’d like to make the position permanent.
Throughout this period our Chair will check in to discuss how things are going, receive feedback, and provide any support needed. Our meetings are usually monthly and take place online. We aim to meet face-to-face once or twice a year in Manchester. The role is voluntary but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.

The Role

- Application of proven methods to common and uncommon accounting problems
- Ability to review one’s work and find and correct any mistakes

About Me2 Club:
Our Vision is ‘Inclusion for All’ children and teenagers with additional needs and disabilities.
Every year, Me2 Club matches over 100 children who have additional needs or disabilities with committed and passionate volunteers to help them attend and take part in mainstream leisure activities. About the role:
As treasurer you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health and transparency of Me2 Club. Key responsibilities include overseeing the financial management of the charity, ensuring that financial records are accurate and up-to-date; collaborating with other trustees and the Chief Executive Officer to develop and monitor the charity's budget; presenting financial reports to the board of trustees at regular intervals; identifying and addressing financial risks that could impact the charity; ensuring that the charity complies with relevant financial regulations, such as filing tax returns and adhering to charity law. The treasurer will also liaise with our independent examiner to prepare the annual accounts.
As a member of the Board of Trustees you will be jointly responsible for the legal, effective and safe running of Me2 Club. Working with other Trustees and the Chief Executive Officer you will provide strategic leadership to a growing and ambitious charity. As one of our ‘guardians of purpose’ you’ll make sure that all our decisions put the needs of children and their families first.
To be successful in this role requires these key skills:

Monitor and evaluate the implementation of new strategies

Oversee EnhanceAble’s financial plans and budgets and monitor and evaluate progress.

Ensure the effective and efficient administration of the organisation

Ensure that key risks are being identified, monitored and controlled effectively.

Review and approve EnhanceAble’s financial statements.

Provide support and challenge to EnhanceAble’s CEO in the exercise of their delegated authority and affairs.

Keep abreast of changes in EnhanceAble’s operating environment.

Contribute to regular reviews of EnhanceAble’s own governance.

Attend Board meetings, adequately prepared to contribute to discussions.

Use independent judgment, acting legally and in good faith to promote and protect EnhanceAble’s interests, to the exclusion of their own personal and/or any third-party interests.

You do not need previous governance experience – we will provide a full induction and training.

Terms of appointment
Terms of office

Trustees are appointed for a 3 year term of office, renewal for 3 further terms to a maximum of 9 years.

This is a voluntary position, but reasonable expenses are reimbursed.
Time commitment

Attending 4 Board meetings annually. Currently meetings are held in person at our head office in KT1 2TW

Attending circa 4 other meetings or event during any year
What will you be doing?
In terms of skill priorities, we are keen to introduce a qualified accountant to the Board, with a solid understanding of management accounting systems and capable of translating numbers into meaning for trustees. We are also seeking a trustee with legal training and experience and/or a Trustee with a strong fundraising background.
What are we looking for?
In this current round of recruitment, we are particularly seeking:
- A qualified accountant with a solid understanding of management accounting systems and processes.
- An experienced fundraiser.
- A qualified lawyer, who can advise on contracts
