The Art Ministry

Who we are

The Art Ministry was founded in 1992 and became a registered charity, 1108227, in 2005, governed by a board of trustees according to a declaration of trust.

We are based in Hadleigh, Essex and provide regular art and craft sessions to about 100 children and adults from south east Essex.

Our regular art and craft sessions are for a wide variety of people from south east Essex. We focus on people who are most likely to benefit from the opportunity that being involved in creative activity provides for making friends, boosting self confidence, improving self esteem and from feeling a part of a wider creative community.

We run art and craft sessions for children with additional needs, for adults with learning difficulties, adults with physical disabilities, partially sighted and blind adults, and adults with mental health problems.

We work in partnership with others to provide sessions for adults with visual impairments, at sheltered housing schemes, people with drug and alcohol issues, and an after school club for a junior school.

To engage with the wider community, we provide art and craft activities at lots of community events, hold an annual exhibition and offer volunteering opportunities.
