Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) are the only major UK charity focused specifically on the health and wellbeing benefits of bringing people and horses together.
They are pioneers in the therapeutic use of horses and their innovative programmes improve mobility, boost physical health and mental wellbeing, build confidence, and teach new skills. People of all ages and abilities are welcome at RDA, including those with physical and learning disabilities, sensory impairments, long-term health conditions, and neurodiversity.
Each year, RDA support over 25,000 disabled children and adults with the help of 2,800 equines, 1,700 coaches and 13,700 volunteers. They operate 400+ RDA centres across the UK and have 57+ accredited riding schools. Its commitment to para-equestrian sport has contributed to a strong Paralympic legacy, ensuring riders at all levels can achieve their potential.
RDA UK is at a pivotal moment, with a relatively new leadership team and ambitious plans to strengthen support for its network of member groups.
About the role
The Director of Fundraising & Communications is a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for leading an integrated strategy across RDA UK’s income generation and communications functions.
With a stable annual voluntary income of £2m, this role is about unlocking RDA UK’s full potential—diversifying income streams, refining cases for support, and ensuring a strong, cohesive approach between fundraising and communications. It is an opportunity to drive long-term sustainability, elevate RDA UK’s national profile, and strengthen external engagement through strategic leadership and collaboration.
As Director of Fundraising and Communications, you will:
- Lead the strategic direction for fundraising and communications, ensuring both functions work in alignment to maximise income and engagement.
- Oversee fundraising strategy, supporting the Head of Fundraising in strengthening income streams, particularly in major gifts, corporate partnerships, trusts, and legacies.
- Ensure RDA UK’s brand and communications strategy enhances fundraising, advocacy, and supporter engagement, working closely with the Head of Communications.
- Guide the development of compelling cases for support, positioning RDA UK as a leading force in health, wellbeing, disability, and sport.
- Represent RDA UK at a senior level, engaging major funders, corporate partners, and key stakeholders to unlock new opportunities.
- Support and develop the Heads of Fundraising and Communications, ensuring they are empowered to lead their teams effectively and drive success.
About you
This role will suit a strategic and hands-on leader, comfortable balancing income growth, team leadership, and external engagement. We’re open to a range of backgrounds, but you’ll likely be:
- An experienced fundraising leader with expertise across multiple income streams, including major gifts, corporate partnerships, trusts, and legacies.
- A strong team builder, adept at developing leaders and fostering a high-performance culture.
- Confident in evolving a case for support, developing fundable propositions, and engaging new funders.
- Ability to oversee and strengthen communications strategies, ensuring integration with fundraising
- Familiar with federated structures or excited by the challenge of maximising the impact of a network of independent organisations.
- An engaging advocate for RDA UK, able to build relationships across funders, partners, and the wider equestrian and disability communities.

ROLE PURPOSE
The Fundraising Manager will play a critical role in maximising income for St George’s Hospital Charity through the development and management of relationships with trusts, foundations, and corporate partners. This position requires a can-do, proactive attitude in securing unrestricted and restricted philanthropic support for key projects, particularly our Time For a Change fundraising appeal that aims to raise £5m to transform our children’s wards at St George’s Hospital.
You will be responsible for growing restricted and unrestricted income through the development of strategic, long-term partnerships with Trusts and Foundations and Corporate Partners that provide a sustainable source of income. Working closely with Head of High Value and Director of Fundraising and Communications the postholder will be instrumental in developing a strong and realistic pipeline prospects and securing regular five-six figure gifts. You will maintain £1.2m income/year with ambitions to grow this income to £1.7m/year from Trusts and Foundations and Corporate Partnerships over the next 5 years and by 29/30. The ideal candidate will be proactive and solutions focussed. They will have a proven track record of philanthropy including relationship management, proposal writing, budget development and collaboration with internal teams to communicate impactful fundraising appeal.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Fundraising Responsibilities
- Develop a strong and realistic pipeline of Trusts and Foundations and Corporate Partnerships that align with our strategic objectives and fundraising appeals
- Be proactive and ambitious supporting the growth of our income across Trusts, Foundations and Corporate Partnerships from £1.2m/year to £1.7m/year over 5 years.
- Develop and manage a robust income portfolio, researching prospects, making approaches, building relationships and submitting compelling proposals and application to Trusts and Foundations and Corporates.
- Build project budgets from scratch.
- Create tailored stewardship opportunities for funders which effectively communicate the difference their support has made. To include face-to-face meetings, hospital visits, written reports/digests and attendance at relevant events to strengthen relationships and enhance donor engagement.
- Provide regular progress reports to the Head of High Value and Director of Fundraising and Communications, highlighting milestones, KPIs, and potential risks to income generation.
Corporate Partnerships Management
- Contribute to and implement the strategy for securing new corporate partnerships while maintaining and enhancing relationships with existing partners to ensure ongoing support.
- Develop creative and impactful partnership pitches and proposals to attract new corporate sponsors.
- Oversee account management plans for existing corporate partners, programming stewardship events, ensuring that reporting is undertaken, engagement is sustained and opportunities for growth are identified and acted upon.
- Work closely with senior volunteers and stakeholders to develop new business leads and maximise partnership potential.
- Collaborate with the Community & Events Manager to leverage corporate opportunities, turning local engagements into larger partnerships.
Trusts and Foundations Management
- Build and maintain income from Trusts and Foundations using prospecting tools and desk-based research.
- Be proactive in approaches to Trusts and Foundations via phone and/or emails
- Develop creative and compelling approaches and applications that are tailored to charitable objectives of funders.
- Build project budgets and fundraising pipelines in line with funders requirements.
- Maintain and manage a calendar of activity for Trusts and Foundations to ensure we deliver an excellent level of stewardship including six-monthly updates and bespoke visits.
Research and Pipeline Management
- Conduct thorough research to identify and qualify potential funders across trusts, foundations, and corporate sectors, maintaining a dynamic philanthropy pipeline.
- Monitor and manage progress through the pipeline, ensuring that prospects are appropriately cultivated and that targets for each stage of the portfolio are met.
- Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations and data protection laws throughout the prospect research and relationship management processes.
General Duties
- Maintain accurate records of stakeholder communications in our Raiser’s Edge database and activities in line with data protection obligations and best practices.
- Work with Finance to reconcile income.
- Participate actively in team meetings and contribute to the overall objectives of the fundraising department.
- Working with the Head of High Value ensure our offer to partners is accurately reflected on our website. This may include updating webpages.
- Supporting fundraising events.
- As and when required, provide front desk coverage, welcoming visitors and donors at the Welcome Office and serving as a friendly and helpful representative of the organisation.
- Engage in continuous professional development and participate in regular performance reviews.

Head of Fundraising (full time employment contract)

St James’s Church Piccadilly is at an exciting moment in its 340 year history. Fundraising for the ‘Wren Project’, a £20m capital campaign, and plans for an endowment campaign, are well underway and the team is progressing well towards its initial target.
This new role will lead the staff team, liaising closely with the contracted Director of Development, in ensuring the Wren Project funding is delivered, and that necessary funds for the social outreach, arts programming and running costs of the church are raised in a timely and effective manner.
Experience in fund raising in the charity sector is essential, including a good understanding of the regulatory environment. Experience in fund raising in the faith sector would be an advantage.

ADSS (Alzheimer's and Dementia Support Services) believes in enabling those who live with dementia to live well. ADSS is Kent’s biggest independent charity dedicated to providing support to people affected by dementia. Following a significant expansion in 2022, the team is now supporting more people than ever before. Main Purpose of Job
ADSS has created the role of Head of Fundraising to consolidate growth and ensure ADSS can care for the people they support into the future. Reporting directly to the CEO, the role represents an exciting opportunity for an experienced, creative and dynamic fundraising leader.
The Head of Fundraising will provide subject matter expertise in fundraising and will implement and evaluate the fundraising strategy in support of ADSS’s mission and vision.

The organisation is the industry’s benevolent charity, supporting hospitality workers who have fallen upon hard times. Hospitality can be a stressful industry, with long hours, high pressure environments and physically demanding work. The charity is in an exciting period of growth, and this role will help raise income to meet the growing needs of hospitality workers.

The Senior Fundraising Executive will work closely with the wider Fundraising Team to deliver on their new strategy, overseeing one of the organisation's growing fundraising streams – Third Party Fundraising via partnerships with well-known pubs, bars, hotels, restaurants, caterers and food and drinks suppliers across the UK.

You will support on by securing and growing third party income through a wide range of fundraising activities and initiatives. This is a hybrid working role, with around 2 days working in the charity's London office, though this will vary. The salary is £33k a year. They are open to flexible ways of working, so that this role is inclusive and works around your schedule, although there will be a need for travel around London to meet with prospective donors.

Role Summary
The Community Fundraising Officer will work closely with the Senior Community and Challenge Events Manager and wider Fundraising team to deliver significant elements of the charity’s fundraising strategy, particularly our community fundraising products. About the role
This is an inspiring role for someone who wants to contribute to our success by providing strategic leadership and direction to the fundraising and communications functions supporting the Dementia Adventure business plan and charitable mission and objectives.
Managing a team of five across fundraising, communications, special projects and data management, the successful applicant will lead the development of partnerships and campaigns to raise funds for Dementia Adventure’s unique work to support people with dementia and their carers to have a more active and fulfilled life by getting outdoors and experiencing the benefits of nature.
You will provide strategic leadership and direction for income generation through various fundraising disciplines and joint fundraising partnerships, ensuring the charity's diversification of funding and financial sustainability. Funding sources include major grantmakers, trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, challenge events, and an individual giving campaign.
Hand in hand with leading fundraising, you will oversee the Communications team, supporting, developing and monitoring the communications strategy, associated budget, resources, systems, processes and operations. This will involve overseeing and directing a communications plan promoting the work of Dementia Adventure to a broad range of audiences through various channels and campaigns, along with increasing online and social media presence.
About you
We are looking for someone to join the charity’s Senior Leadership Team who will bring experience from their past successes and provide inspirational strategic leadership and direction to the fundraising and communications functions in support of the Dementia Adventure business plan, charitable mission and objectives. The successful applicant will have a strong, successful track record of fundraising and/or other forms of income generation in the charity sector, including management, with proven experience in meeting financial and non-financial targets. You should be able to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including trusts and grant givers, corporates, major donors and other individuals. In addition, you should have strong knowledge of marketing and communication principles and practice, digital marketing, and social media, and be confident in engaging audiences sensitively with real-life stories to demonstrate impact and create a compelling case for support.

About This Role
Over the last seven years we have grown into a recognised leader in the fight for menstrual equity. This is underpinned by a strong and diverse fundraising programme at Bloody Good Period, along with a distinctive, stand-out brand which is frequently sought out for highprofile partnerships from partners across industries. We raise c£750K per annum, which delivers our impactful programme of work to meet immediate menstrual health needs via providing period products and menstrual education, and campaigning for long-term change so that we (ultimately) no longer have to do this work.
We are now recruiting a Fundraising Manager to cover parental leave for nine months. It’s an exciting time to join our team, as we build on strong foundations and develop our work in High Value fundraising in particular. This xed term contract will focus on delivering a new strategy for corporate and Major Donor fundraising, as well as line managing a new Fundraising Ocer to deliver our day-to-day fundraising portfolio.

Background
Mission Without Borders (MWBI) is an international network of Christians who journey with the poor and marginalized, bringing practical and spiritual support with hope of a better future, enabling and encouraging people to lift themselves out of poverty, always sharing the hope found in Jesus Christ. We serve people without regard to their religion or ethnic background.
Mission Without Borders International leads and co-ordinates the work of six countries in Eastern Europe where we conduct our program work and twelve countries where we raise support for these programs and associated MWBI costs. An international executive team (IET) supports this work in terms of program maintenance and development, fundraising, communications, finance, risk management and compliance and it and digital.
Purpose of role
The overarching governing body of the Mission is the Board of Mission Without Borders International. The International Board are seeking a senior International Fundraising Director who will help drive our fundraising strategy by strengthening and diversifying our fundraising sources. The Mission requires an experienced leader with a proven track record in international fundraising who will inspire our international fundraising teams to differentiate and grow income as we enter this new phase of strategic growth.
The International Fundraising Director will provide leadership, oversight and guidance to the Mission’s National Fundraising Directors. They will: implement and manage the diversification of income, including major donor income and field sourced income; work closely with the digital team in fundraising and communication; engage with field countries on beneficiary management and sponsor engagement; lead on impact reporting and work with other members of IET to lead the executive and operational elements of the Mission.
A strong communicator and strategic thinker with practical fundraising experience, they will be an experienced leader and innovative thinker focused on the development of a team and capable of working well with the existing team. They will have significant practical experience of major donors, trusts and foundations, institutional, and corporate fundraising together with a deep understanding of individual fundraising through sponsorship and appeals.
Primary responsibilities
Donor development and outreach
· To provide strategic direction, leadership and drive for fundraising in all new development areas across the Mission. They will have direct responsibility for raising funds at the international level with a specific focus on driving forward major donors, trusts and institutions income as this is currently an underdeveloped source of income for the Mission. They will also lead the development of field sourced fundraising.
· Deliver strategic plans for driving income growth, diversifying income sources and improving donor engagement by incorporating traditional and digital fundraising methods.
· Lead the International Fundraising Team to deliver strategic objectives across all fundraising channels, support National Fundraising Directors, create a collaborative fundraising culture across the organization internationally, and monitor fundraising metrics to deliver growth and efficiency.
· Create a donor-centric fundraising culture, implementing systems and reporting to deliver effective supporter journeys across all disciplines.
· Lead in understanding fundraising trends and working with National Fundraising Directors to improve agility in response to these trends and detailed data analysis of internal trends.
· Define and drive the annual calendar of global fundraising campaigns, supporting materials, driving communications and assessing impact.
· Understand and engage in corporate change program delivery, providing input and leadership to ensure that donor and beneficiary journeys are linked.
· Develop and implement fundraising policies and procedures, particularly around major donors to ensure local and international consistency and compliance.
· Utilize digital resources to drive engagement, reporting and strategy delivery.
· Speak at fundraising community events, conferences and donor events.
Budgeting and reporting
· Oversight of the annual and rolling five-year budgets to ensure local and international fundraising achieve the Mission’s overall strategic goals for income and related expenditure.
· Work closely with the CFO and CEO to drive the annual planning and budgeting process.
· Drive consistency in restricted and unrestricted giving reporting.
Leadership and management
· Work with the International Executive Team to drive the Mission’s international strategy.
· Collaborate with and coach the National Fundraising Directors to meet strategic goals.
· Nurture team members in excellence in operational tasks as well as personal development, ensuring an engaged and fulfilled team.
· Participate in Mission events, training and conferences to engage and inspire peers to drive strategic goals and ensure best practice.
· Network in the fundraising community.
· Participate in and inspire the Mission in its spiritual and biblical foundations.
Profile

Experience required
· Relevant degree or equivalent in experience.
· Proven senior level experience as an international fundraiser and team leader, managing in complex environments, with a servant heart.
· Senior level experience in direct fundraising in the areas of major donors.
· Development and implementation of strategic and operational plans for fundraising.
· Setting, managing, and reporting on international budgets.
· Strong stakeholder management experience including Board reporting experience
· Experience in building and nurturing high performing teams.
