About us

Who we are

We are Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity). We stop at nothing to help give seriously ill children the best chance and the best childhood possible.

For the children from all over the UK who are treated by Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) every day. For children with rare or complex illnesses everywhere. For this generation and all those to come. Because we believe no childhood should be lost to serious illness. We support the hospital by funding groundbreaking research, cutting-edge medical equipment, child-centred facilities and life-changing support.

Whether you’re a fundraiser, tech professional or marketer looking for your next role, or you’re looking to make the move into the charity sector, at GOSHCC you will be able to use your skills to help transform childhood for seriously ill children.

Our culture and values

Our values of care, curiosity and courage are found in everything we do.

We care

We see the extraordinary care the hospital gives to children and their families every day. We embed that care in the passion and pride we take in our roles. And it’s in how we care about our supporters, endeavouring to ensure every pound raised is used in the most impactful way.

What it means: We are supportive and collaborative, working together to support GOSH to give seriously ill children their best chance of a brighter future.

We are curious

We see curiosity and open-mindedness from the children GOSH treats and the researchers making breakthroughs in treating serious childhood conditions. We look for diverse perspectives, open our minds to the world and are willing to learn from everybody’s experiences and knowledge.

What it means: We are open and welcoming to new ideas and experiences, ask questions, explore and research.

We are courageous

We see courage every day from the children and families at GOSH. Inspired by their courage and the dedication from the hospital, we’re committed to doing our very best. Being bold and ambitious, spirited and creative. Always willing to go further, be innovative and try new things.

What it means: We strive to be our very best.

Equality, diversity and inclusion policy

Our vision for EDI

Our vision for EDI is of a world where every seriously ill child - and their families – have access to the best care and medical research when they need it most, coupled with the best advocates to stand alongside them.

We know that achieving equity, diversity, and inclusion is critical to ensuring that as many people as possible can contribute to and benefit from our work and to building a culture where our people thrive and feel a sense of belonging.

At Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, we commit to:

  • Being guided by our values - we're courageous, we are curious, we care - every step of the way by working with compassion and empathy, exploring innovative approaches, and bravely questioning our decisions.
  • Developing and maintaining an inclusive culture where everyone - our employees, volunteers, families, and supporters - feels valued for their contributions.
  • Continuously learning, unlearning, adapting, and reviewing to embed EDI into everything we are and everything we do.
