Transparency International (UK) are looking for a Programme Officer.

As a Programme Officer, you will be responsible for supporting and enabling the International Programmes at TI-UK (TI Defence and Security and Global Health) to operate efficiently and effectively, by delivering timely, consistent, rigorous operational support and programme administration as needed.

The Programme Officer will report to, work closely with, and receive guidance from the Project Manager to deliver the work effectively within the International Programmes.

What will I be doing?

• Compile and draft programme documentation for internal review, including preparing quarterly and annual progress reports, as well as monthly updates for donors.
• Support the Project Manager in monitoring reporting updates from Chapter partners across West and North Africa, and providing Chapter partners programmatic support as needed.
• Assist team members in identifying, tracking, and reporting on results across international programmes, ensuring all information is accurately compiled and stored in a designated location.
• Work flexibly to maintain the efficient delivery of team priorities by undertaking tasks under the guidance of team members/leads, such as supporting where needed with recruitment and onboarding, organising team meetings, and other ad-hoc programme requirements.
• Provide extensive support to fundraising colleagues at TI-UK and International Programmes by conducting research, and/or mapping of fundraising opportunities, compiling insights from past project learnings and impact evaluations, and drafting fundraising proposals as required, under the guidance of team leads.
• Compiling and maintaining a dedicated fundraising kit for the International Programmes, with support from the Project Manager and relevant fundraising colleagues.

Is the job for me?

To be successful in the role you will have a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Social Sciences, International Development, Management/Business, or related fields.

You will also have some experience and/or proven aptitude and ability to learn quickly in the following professional areas:

• Programme management, project management and/or administration;
• Compiling, following, and managing budgets;
• Coordinating and tracking operational workplans;
• Good initiative and attention to detail

The Policy Officer will play a key role in using health insights to shape our policy positions and make a meaningful difference to the lives of people affected by meningitis. Responsibilities

Strategic Foresight & Horizon Scanning

• Monitor UK and global meningitis policy and provide analysis to identify trends and priorities.
• Help maintain the policy foresight dashboard, organize quarterly scanning sessions, and present findings to senior leadership and trustees

Policy Analysis & Development

• Analyse UK meningitis policies, focusing on immunization and support for affected individuals.
• Track UK immunization developments, vaccine policies, and public health initiatives related to meningitis prevention.
• Provide global meningitis policy analysis, including WHO’s Global Roadmap to Defeat Meningitis and brain health initiatives.
• Draft briefings, position papers, and reports on key meningitis-related topics for internal and external use.
• Support responses to health-related consultations in the UK and globally.

Collaboration & Engagement

• Build relationships with UK policy stakeholders, including government bodies, NHS England, and advocacy groups.
• Work with Advocacy, CoMO, and Support teams to ensure the insights reflect the experiences of those affected by meningitis

At Endometriosis UK, we are passionate about driving political change for the 1 in 10 women and those assigned female at birth living with endometriosis in the UK. This role will play an instrumental role in supporting the campaigns and policy function within the wider Communications Team.

This will be a busy, varied and important role working closely with the Policy and Public Affairs Manager and Head of Campaigns and Communications to provide administration and wider support for the charity’s growing policy and campaigns function. This will include contributing to the production of government consultation responses, writing letters to politicians, producing background briefings ahead of parliamentary meetings and taking responsibility for political monitoring and informing the team of any engagement opportunities. A key part of the role will also be providing administration support for the policy function of the charity and the Head of Communications and Campaigns, including administrative support for the All-Party-Parliamentary Group on Endometriosis which Endometriosis UK provides secretariat support for. Tasks will include writing minutes, helping produce briefing papers, and booking events and meeting rooms.

You will also be the first point of call for our campaign supporters, and will be aiding our supporters to take campaign actions through the drafting and creation of e-actions using Engaging Networks.

Role Summary

Southwark Cathedral has been a place of Christian worship for over 1400 years. Now it stands on the vibrant and exciting regenerated south bank of the Thames surrounded by cultural venues such as Tate Modern, Shakespeare’s Globe and Borough Market, the offices of major companies as well as schools and diverse residential communities. It is an inclusive Christian community that offers a welcome to all.

The Cathedral’s mission, ministry and musical tradition are core to its life as a Cathedral and a parish church serving the community. It also relies on the valuable financial contribution made by its income generating activities such as its shop, café, conference rooms, corporate events and concerts. It is a very busy place, attracting 200,000 visitors a year to the Cathedral, its churchyard and medieval herb garden. The Cathedral relies on a small but dedicated team to be inclusive and welcoming to all.

The Executive Assistant (EA) will provide support to the Chief Operation Officer (COO) to assist them in the effective functioning of all governance, human resources and operational arrangements at the Cathedral.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Support for the COO

• Lead the coordination, preparation, planning and follow up for the COO’s briefing for and attendance at meetings associated with the governance of the Cathedral, including Chapter, Finance Committee, Audit & Risk Committee, Nominations Committee, Fabric Advisory Committee and Board of Enterprises.
• Undertake research and assisting in the drafting and review of papers for such meetings. Minute taking will not usually be required (but may be requested from time to time in liaison with members of staff usually responsible for the minutes);
• Support the COO in all their working relationships including building and maintaining excellent relationships with Chapter Members and Committee Members, the Bishop’s staff and with the wider Diocese, as well as with neighbours, contractors, commercial partners and professional advisers;
• Draft briefs and management reports;
• Assist in the research, writing and preparation of the Cathedral’s Annual Report;
• Assist with the drafting and submission of Cathedral-wide documents, such as the Cathedrals Survey, Peer Review etc.

HR

Recruitment

Support the COO with co-ordination of recruitment for new Cathedral and Southwark Cathedral Enterprises Limited staff, in line with Safer Recruitment best practice;

• Co-ordinate the creation of job descriptions with direction from the COO & Director of HR, in liaison with the relevant Head of Department and line manager for the role being recruited;
• Manage the Cathedral’s recruitment processes – identifying platforms for advertisement, arranging short-listing and interview panels, featuring on shortlisting panels where required;
• Lead with preparations for interview – book rooms, invite candidates to interview, arrange testing and advise on test materials where needed, prepare and advise on interview questions;
• Where required, take part in interview panels;
• Manage the appointment process for new starters – communicate process outcomes to applicants (appointment and rejection communications), pursue references, complete pre-employment checks, liaise with colleagues on DBS check requirements;

Operational HR Support

Human Resources Administration for Staff

• Manage the Cathedral’s digital HR system (Mentor) – be responsible for creating and updating staff profiles, setting up each new leave year, monitoring annual leave & sick leave (reporting on these for KPI and audit purposes where necessary) and being the point of contact for staff who have queries on how to use the system;
• Communicate staff annual leave entitlement and respond to staff queries on leave;   
• Support the Finance team with provision of HR information pertaining to the annual audit and insurance cover, e.g. staff numbers, requested contracts, annual leave summaries;
• Assist the COO with drafting of HR documentation/correspondence;
• Work with the Finance team on the provision of Annual Pay Review letters for all staff;
• Keep the Cathedral’s hard copy and digital HR filing systems up to date, in accordance with GDPR best practice;

• Support the COO and Director of HR with the rolling update of the Staff Handbook and Cathedral policies pertaining to HR;

Terms and Conditions

Working Hours

The working hours shall be 35 per hours a week, exclusive of meal breaks. Some out of hours working will be required to support meetings and events and this will be notified in advance. Time off in lieu will be awarded in line with Southwark Cathedral’s policy.

Annual Leave

25 days paid leave per annum including statutory bank holidays and an extra day at Christmas.

Probation

The appointment is subject to the satisfactory completion of a six-month probationary period.

Season ticket loan

Once the probationary period has been completed satisfactorily, the person appointed will be eligible to take out a season ticket loan.

Pension

The person appointed will be eligible to join a defined contributions pension scheme managed by the Church Workers Pension Fund. The Cathedral will contribute half of the annual premium of 10% of salary.

Working Expenses

Reasonable out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.

About the role

Our governance function oversees compliance and risk management, both of which contribute to effective decision making. As a skilled governance professional, you’ll play a leading role in effectively managing our governance team. You’ll provide a high-quality secretariat function, including managing the Board business forward planning, delivery of Board meetings and oversight and implementation of post meeting actions.

You will utilise your knowledge and experience within data protection to manage and oversee all data protection and privacy protocols for the Medical Research Foundation, ensuring that we mitigate risk.

You’ll be excellent at nurturing links and building sound relationships as well as having an uncompromising approach to precision as well as a strong eye for detail.

You will have experience of:

• independently providing meeting management to governing boards and committees, ideally within the not-for-profit sector.

The salary for this position is £45,000.00 (pro-rata for part time hours). Ideally this will be a part time post at 21.6 hours per week however we are open and flexible to a full time working arrangement.

The core focus of the role is to help our supporters feel part of a movement that is funding cutting edge neurological research. 

We enjoy a solid base of support with c26,000 engaged individuals across a range of audience segments including cash donors (c3,000), regular givers (c4,000), events and community (c3,000), patients and our wider non-donor community (c16,000). Our primary communications channels are our website, Facebook, Instagram and via email. 

We are looking to put renewed energy behind our communications work and seeking to maximise our digital engagement. This includes both promoting fundraising opportunities and using social channels as a means of interacting with, and taking queries from, supporters and the wider public. 

Our work in fundraising is designed to maximise funds needed for research to help the one in six of us that has a neurological condition.

The Supporter-led Fundraising (SLF) team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for securing income from individuals, groups and corporates, as well as driving registrations and income through third party and mass participation events; managing these relationships to maximise income.

As the Central Fundraising Officer, you will be part of our friendly and passionate Central Fundraising Team. You will lead on supporter stewardship and tiering to ensure our supporters are well supported by the Central Fundraising Team throughout their fundraising journey. Your role will include taking the lead on data processes such as the BACs process, drafting different engaging stewardship content, keep our fundraising materials up to date and lead on training sessions within the Central Fundraising Team and with other teams for sharing best practice. 

You will work closely with our network of 12 home-based Regional Fundraising Officers (RFOs), as well as Sporting Team and Corporate Teams. You will be the first point of contact for the majority of our DIY supporters and will offer first-class stewardship to ensure our fundraisers feel well-supported before, during and after their fundraising plans.

You will also work very closely with the Data, Supporter Care team, Finance and other key stakeholders within ARUK to ensure SLF processes and procedures are fit for purpose and completed in a timely manner and that our supporters are delighted with the management and stewardship they receive across the teams.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

· Be a helpful and informed first point of contact for many supporters getting in touch with the Supporter Led Fundraising (SLF) team for the first time.

· Build first-class and long-term relationships through telephone calls and emails with our supporters to ensure they have the best fundraising experience at Alzheimer’s Research UK.

· Provide central stewardship support to a remote-based team of Regional Fundraising Officers (RFOs) to ensure effective delivery of the SLF strategy and budget.

· Support the Sporting Events Team with recruitment and stewardship of events. 

· Lead on supporter stewardship journey by drafting various engaging stewardship materials, reviewing our fundraising resources and lead on training sessions for other teams for best practices.

· Support and assist in the monthly reconciliation of income coding for the wider SLF teams.

· Support the development of new procedures and embedding the new CRM.

· Work with our Corporate Teams to effectively steward our partner companies.

· Ensure consistent cross-working to identify potential opportunities in current and prospective supporters for long lasting relationships across all teams.

· Attend a variety of events to engage with and cheer on supporters including golf days, regional events and sporting events.

Administrative Support

· Process material requests from fundraising supporters, offering appropriate support while considering charity cost.

· Provide further support to the RFOs where necessary including mass printing, franking, t-shirt printing, booking couriers and personalising thank you letters and certificates.

· Provide additional support on Ad Hoc campaigns such as Facebook challenges, virtual fundraising challenges and other national corporate campaigns.

· Ensure clear, consistent and up to date fundraising data management including adding new contacts to the fundraising database, accurately recording and maintaining supporter details, monitoring and tracking supporter income and making sure supporters are appropriately thanked in a timely manner.

· Lead on and be responsible for specific fundraising processes e.g. responsible for coding and reconciling all SLF BACs payments and coding Paypal donations. Reviewing, updating and training others on these processes when necessary.

· Ensure all communications are in line with GDPR policies.

· Become the organised Central coordinator for SLF-wide activities and procedures e.g contactless machines.

Spotting Potential

· As the central point of contact for the SLF team, you will spot opportunities to build networks among our fundraising community and flag these to the relevant members of the team.

· Identify and research potential community group and business partnerships for SLF teams.

· Use data reports to spot fundraising trends and identify opportunities, making a judgement on where to flag to the relevant teams to ensure accurate income coding and stewardship.

· Help spot opportunities and contact supporters as part of our re-engagement process to encourage repeat fundraising.

· Effectively communicate ARUK’s Gifts In Will messages to supporters where appropriate.

Collaboration

· Become involved in a Fundraising Resources Review Project Group, adding creative insight and keeping our fundraising resources updated for supporters.

· Work closely with the Corporate and Philanthropy team to lead on income processes such as CAFAmerica, to ensure appropriate donation restrictions are implemented.

· Work closely with other teams to locate missing income and ensuring correct coding is implemented to make certain of accurate reporting.

· Work with our Supporters and Families Team by sharing fundraiser stories to maximise potential publicity.

· Work closely with the Communications team to maximise potential publicity and acknowledgement for fundraising supporters and their events, including content for the charity’s social media channels.

· Be the main SLF contact for the Supporter Care team, updating them on fundraising products and events to ensure they have all the information they need to support first contact.

About the role:

On the back of continued growth due to successful fundraising performance over the last 5 years, we are ready to take the next step in our fundraising strategy and launch a Philanthropy Giving programme. You will bring expertise and skills in this field to support the fundraising team and build on the already strong stewardship and engagement we have with key individuals.
