We’re looking for someone with experience of delivering learning to run and manage our accredited in-house management training course and provide exceptional learning experiences to both our colleagues and volunteers. 

About the role

You’ll deliver learning initiatives that will enhance our peoples’ experience at Parkinson’s UK (both employees and volunteers). This work will equip our people to better support the ambition of our People & Culture and organisational Strategy.

With a keen eye on external best practice, you’ll ensure we are delivering our effective learning opportunities that will help them succeed in their roles and enhance our ways of working. 

What you’ll do:

• Work with Learning & Development specialists to develop and deliver learning opportunities for volunteers and colleagues
• Provide high quality support and guidance on learning and development to colleagues and volunteers
• Design and deliver learning opportunities and events where appropriate and in partnership with colleagues and volunteers
• Work closely with subject matter experts in the charity to understand and meet evolving learning needs

What you’ll bring:

• Experience of designing and delivering successful and impactful learning initiatives for both colleagues and volunteers 
• Ability to develop concise and impactful training, both in person and virtual 
• Proven ability to work collaboratively, with the ability to build rapport and relationships with colleagues and volunteers at all levels

By utilising effective campaigning strategies, Animal Equality is having an impact for animals around the world and building a future where all animals are respected and protected, and are no longer exploited for human consumption.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Remote working, in the UK (with travel to London once a month).

The Philanthropy Specialist plays a major role in meeting the organisation’s ambitious fundraising goals. Responsible for major giving and grants portfolios, the Philanthropy Specialist identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards financial support from generous individuals and granting bodies.

With a proven track record the successful candidate will network with key stakeholders, present compelling communications and generate significant funds. In turn, these funds will enable Animal Equality to achieve its ambitious financial targets and carry out its crucial campaigns to meaningfully transform and save the lives of farmed animals.

Overview of the Head of Campaigns role and the team

Barnabas Aid is seeking a dynamic and strategic individual for the role of Head of Campaigns, a critical position within our International Outreach Department. The post-holder will lead the development and delivery of impactful campaigns, aimed at raising awareness, prayer, and vital donations for the charity’s work with persecuted Christians worldwide. The Head of Campaigns will be responsible for key initiatives such as the Barnabas Brekkie/Breakfast campaign, as well as major supporter events like Encourage. In addition, they will focus on key fundraising activities, ensuring high levels of supporter acquisition, engagement, and retention.

This is a new and exciting role within the organisation, offering the opportunity to shape the future of Barnabas Aid's fundraising and supporter relations strategy. The Magistrates’ Association’s aim is to help our members be the best magistrates they can be for the good of society. One of the key ways we do this is by helping them develop their skills and competences. This role gives the successful applicant an opportunity to help shape the training and development of magistrates, working alongside our experienced and knowledgeable members and volunteers. In any day, you might be involved in:

• Working with our expert training, learning and development committee to develop learning and development materials for our members

Coram Children’s Legal Centre works with migrant, asylum-seeking and refugee children and young people to ensure that their rights are upheld. At an individual level, we provide one-to-one legal advice through an advice line, outreach advice programme and workshops, as well as legal representation in immigration, asylum and nationality law, and community care law. We also offer a range of free resources and online information. To develop practice, we provide guidance and training to practitioners working with young refugees and migrants. We undertake policy advocacy to protect and promote the rights of migrant children in UK law and policy.

About the role

This role is part of a project funded by the Justice Together Initiative working in conjunction with a number of partners across London including Young Roots, Centrepoint, CARAS, Enfield Social Services, SRLA and Citizens UK. The purpose of the role is to help children, young people and families understand their position and legal rights in relation to immigration and support them to take steps to realise their rights. The role involves the provision of one-off asylum, immigration and nationality law advice and follow-up work and the wider provision of legal education sessions and documentation to increase understanding and knowledge. This role is part of an immigration legal advice team, which seeks to get high-quality immigration legal advice into communities and to those who would otherwise be unable to access it.

The purpose of the role is to empower those in need of immigration, asylum and nationality law, and to work with them – as well as a range of partners – to win change to promote the rights of children and young people affected by UK immigration control. The role involves creating positive relationships with young people and involvement in promoting youth-led change.

The role is responsible for project co-ordination and delivery across immigration advice projects, including advice service design, partnership-building, project planning and meetings, system creation and maintenance, record-keeping, monitoring, internal and funder reporting and other project activities. The role supports CCLC in achieving advice service consistency, meeting targets and ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations.

Role purpose

To diversify, develop and deliver fundraising initiatives with a focus on major donors and legacies, securing significant funding for the Trust that will enable delivery of our new 2030 strategy of more space for nature, with more people on nature’s side. 

1. Main Responsibilities

1.1 Devise and deliver annual plans, together with associated budgets, in line with strategic objectives

1.2 Monitor and report on fundraising targets and budget

1.3 Line management of the Fundraising Officer

2. Major Donors

2.1 Growing the scale of donations – both the number of donors and the value of donations by managing an impactful major donor programme for the Trust 

2.2 Use the Trust’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to manage and grow a pipeline of prospects including high value donors, major donors and potential legators 

2.3 Develop and manage a portfolio of high value donors and prospects to include working closely with appropriate colleagues on research, cultivation, ask and stewardship, including planning and delivery of inspiring events

2.4 Work with the CEO, Senior Management Team and Trustees to appropriately involve them in planning and managing relationships with major donors 

2.5 Develop a stewardship programme, developing meaningful relationships with donors and potential donors, involving them in our work and ensure they feel valued and part of the Trust.

2.6 Manage the Patrons Circle, providing a fantastic experience for WWT Patrons, including delivering engaging events and maintaining regular communication

2.7 Ensure appeal donors receive relevant stewardship communications, including holding specific events and activities

3. Legacies

3.1 Support the development of the Trust's legacy strategy, leading to an increase in number of pledges and value pledged

3.2 Identify and recruit new legacy pledgers including but not exclusively from WWT members and supporters, ensuring a legacy pipeline

3.3 Steward known legacy pledgers to maximize and retain their loyalty to WWT and to maximize their lifetime giving, including their support for current appeals.

3.4 Ensure ongoing engagement with all legators and enquirers by upgrading and conversion through the legacy cycle: enquirer, considerer, intender, pledger 

3.5 Create and run a series of events to engage potential and existing legators and legacy professionals

3.6 Liaise with departments across the Trust in relation to legacy campaigns 

3.7 Work closely with the marketing team to ensure effective communication about legacy giving with members, supporters and pledgers/legators 

3.8 Use the CRM’s legacy module to manage relationships with pledgers and legators

4. General Fundraising

4.1 Support the Trust's new Project Oversights Board, ensuring projects align with the strategy, are fully developed, and help secure appropriate funding

4.2 Input into funding bids

4.3 Support Trust fundraising appeals 

4.5 Work closely with the marketing team to update and improve third party fundraising materials, online material and guidance to enable supporters to fundraise for us independently 

4.6 Ensure that the Trust is up to date and compliant with legislation, regulators and GDPR requirements in relation to fundraising

4.7 Stay up to date with current best practice in fundraising techniques and track any upcoming trends 

4.8 Work with the Membership Services Manager and Membership Development Officer to ensure data is recorded on the CRM accurately and effectively to enable required analysis, tracking, reporting, segmentation and future targeting

5. General Responsibilities

5.1 Promote the work, mission and vision of the Trust at all times.

People are at the heart of what we do. Together we:

· Help reduce social isolation and loneliness among veterans. 

· We support ill or injured men and women to have a safe place to call home, a home that meets their specific needs.

· We fund youth services on stations to provide clubs and activities for the children of serving personnel who move every few years.

· We provide grants to help with the cost of living. But this is just a few of the ways we help.

We are looking for a Community Fundraiser who is an excellent communicator and an energetic self-starter. You are comfortable with working independently, but ready to utilise the support of colleagues across the Fund. Above all, you naturally build rapport to quickly establish relationships and develop innovative partnerships. No one day will be the same and as part of the regional team, you will be the local face and voice of the Fund on the ground. You will quickly build your understanding of the key influencers in your community, and you will ensure they understand what we do so they will want to be associated with the charity. You will be responsible for raising income through existing networks of supporters, volunteers and building new relationships within the RAF, community groups and local business.

The role is primarily community based in East Anglia and requires travel around the region (Cambridgeshire, London Kent, Essex & Suffolk)  and occasional overnight stays. Some evening and weekend work is also required during the busier months at planned events when required. The candidate must have their own vehicle for use of traveling around the regions. Occasional travel to London will be required. The successful candidate for this role will need a full UK driver’s license; to be Basic DBS checked and prove they have the right to work in the UK.

The important stuff 

Salary: £26,000, pro rata (£20,800)

Hours: Part-time, 4 days a week, 9.30am - 5.30pm (with some flexibility and occasional evening or weekend work for events such as Spear Celebrations)

Key Responsibilities

Oversight of Spear Programme

• Lead group sessions of around 10 young people each, using coaching skills to transform attitudes to their own ability and the workplace, and to raise their awareness and maximise potential in stepping into the world of work.​
• Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Coach.​
• Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report KPIs on recruitment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees to Resurgo and the Spear Trust, as well as their ongoing progress and sustainment of work or education.

Partnership liaison and relationship management

• Establish the primary local referral agencies and build and implement a strategy for developing relationships with them to ensure recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme is effective. ​
• Maintain and develop relationships with local partners to form a strong referral network.​

Line Management and training

• Manage the Spear Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development.
• Be line managed by Resurgo to support with the set-up and ongoing operations of the centre and report back on KPIs.

Church Community

• The Spear Centre Manager is directly employed by The Mount, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community.
• You will be required to establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement and backing of church members, and help to establish a strong presence at the church to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme.
• Ensure the Spear programme is a key missional feature of the work of the church; this may involve attending church events and speaking at services.

Site management and set-up

• Work with the Church to set up the training room and IT infrastructure for the new Spear Centre in advance of opening.​
• Liaise with relevant staff locally on-site issues and work to resolve them as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training room are safe and tidy working spaces in line with health and safety policies.​.
• Other ad hoc church responsibilities from time to time.

The Security Manager is the operational lead for the 24/7 security operation at Kew Gardens, ensuring that staff, visitors and collections remain safe and secure across our Gardens and historic buildings. This dynamic and exciting role is responsible for leading, supporting and engaging the Security Team (Kew Constabulary) in a UNESCO World Heritage Site and high volume visitor attraction. The role will lead across multiple functions including security and first aid response, incident management, emergency services liaison, control room operations, receptions, and night security. The Security Manager reports into the Head of Security, the strategic lead for physical security at RBG Kew, and will support them in achieving best practice at both Kew and Wakehurst.

Successful candidates will have proven experience in leading security operations and teams within high volume, public facing environments such as visitor attractions, heritage venues, large scale events, or similar. They will be well versed in delivering best practice in physical security, conducting and reviewing security risk assessments, and implementing security measures and procedures to protect staff, visitors and assets.

We are looking for people who are highly collaborative, and capable of working in partnership with multiple business areas. Successful candidates will be passionate and inspiring leaders of teams, capable of maintaining a positive and supporting team environment to achieve success.

Appointment to the role is subject to enhanced DBS clearance. Whilst working time will be predominantly based at Kew Gardens, there will also be a requirement for the successful candidate to travel to Wakehurst for a few days each month.

About the role

As High Value Communications Manager, you'll produce a range of written and designed materials for major donors, trusts, foundations, and corporate partners. You'll also work collaboratively across the BHF including with fundraisers, grant managers and health insight professionals to identify effective narratives and advise on funding opportunities. You'll write and design compelling cases for support as well as proposals, applications, updates, and donor impact reports.

Working arrangements

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.

At the BHF we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least one day each week, on average.  The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. About you

To succeed in the role, you should have:

• Proven experience of showcasing the impact of a charitable organisation for an audience of high-level donors, preferably in a medical science context, to foster repeat and lifelong support.
• Proven experience of producing high specification documents for a discerning readership, encompassing experience in copywriting, desktop publishing including InDesign and the effective use of images.
• Demonstrable project management experience, preferably in producing short and longform written materials from conception to delivery, in both digital and hard copy formats.
• Experience of working with internal and external stakeholders towards a common goal.
• Ability to work autonomously and deliver high quality work to a deadline.
• Familiarity with fundraising databases such as OneCRM and Raiser's Edge databases, would be a valuable bonus.
