About us
Who we are
Dementia is the biggest health and social challenge of our time.
There are currently estimated to be 900,000 people in the UK with dementia. Many are undiagnosed and facing the realities of their condition alone.
At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today and providing hope for the future. We’re here for everyone living with dementia.
As a Society, we are made up of people with dementia, carers, trusted experts, campaigners, researchers and clinicians. We are the UK’s largest collective force of people with unparalleled knowledge and over 40 years of experience addressing the biggest challenges facing people living with dementia.
Our culture and values
We are Determined to make a difference when and where it matters most, by being passionate, focussed and making a lasting impact for people affected by dementia.
Every one of us is a Trusted expert, listening, learning and using evidence and experience. We are Better together by being open, combining our strengths, helping us to achieve more together. We are Compassionate, we are kind and honest, and we don’t shy away from challenges.
Through our values we will make the greatest difference for people affected by dementia.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
We want everyone we work with, as a colleague, volunteer, supporter, or someone we support, to feel included and that they belong at Alzheimer's Society.
We are committed to building a diverse organisation that represents the communities we serve and ensuring inclusion in everything we do. During your recruitment process we want to make sure that you bring your whole self and be at your best.
A typical recruitment journey with us begins when you apply for one of our vacancies online. You’ll be asked to answer around three application questions designed to help the hiring panel understand your skills, experience, and motivations for applying. Your responses will then be reviewed and scored by our Talent Acquisition Team and the Hiring Manager/Panel against the criteria in the job description.
If you’re shortlisted, you’ll be invited to a virtual interview (or occasionally face-to-face, depending on the role’s seniority or community focus). Some roles may also include a task or additional assessment. All updates throughout the process including interview invitations and outcome decisions, will be shared with you via our Applicant Tracking System, Eploy (although we like to keep in touch directly when you need something of course!).
We want you to feel able to bring your whole self to the process and perform at your best. We’re committed to creating a recruitment experience that is as inclusive as possible, so please do share your feedback through our candidate survey when you apply. If you need any support or adjustments at any stage, please contact the Alzheimer’s Society Talent Acquisition Team at [email protected]; to ensure fairness and consistency, all applications are anonymised until your interview is confirmed. While you can upload a CV to help pre-populate the application form, hiring managers won’t review it at the initial stage. This helps us minimise bias and ensures that shortlisting is based solely on your skills, experience and motivations demonstrated in your application answers.
