The Senior Communications Manager role is critical to achieving our strategy. We are excited to be able to have this specialist role to develop our brand and market us on social media, so we can recruit more schools, volunteers and funds to achieve growth in the coming years.

Who we are looking for

The person we are looking for has enough experience to get themselves around a communications plan and is hungry to develop their skills in copy writing and marketing. You don’t have to know everything now, just demonstrate you can learn, take initiative and have excellent people skills.

Key objectives of the role are  

· To develop and implement the Literacy Pirate’s communication strategy and ensure the cost-effective production, branding, distribution, and maintenance of external communications. By end of 12 months to have grown our following by 30%.

· Increase awareness and recruitment that enables growth of our Virtual Ship (online programme) by marketing on social media. In order to servie more children we need more volunteers, to work with more schools and raise more funds.

The PR Manager will lead a team of 4 Officers with the aim of executing national Media/PR activity and external communications campaigns, working hand-in-hand with the Policy & Research teams. Through impactful media coverage, this person will work to deliver a consistent and strong profile, voice and message on behalf of the charity.

Key responsibilities include:

· Identifying strategic communications aims as well as tactical gaps and opportunities in the PR/Media plan

· Working collaboratively with Policy and Research teams to drive awareness of the research and work the charity does

· Delivering a range of proactive press/media campaigns, building relationships with media and opinion formers and drafting media statements & quotes

· Supporting the Head of PR on reputation and crisis management

· Identifying and managing media volunteers and case studies with the aim of sharing compelling stories and experiences

Key skills include:

· Experience of creating, executing and monitoring PR plans

This is a great opportunity for an experienced feminist Fundraising Manager to set RISE on a new path to independence. JOB SUMMARY

The Trusts Manager will be a driven individual with a background in securing five-, six-, and seven-figure gifts from charitable funders, corporate organisations, and/or Major Donors. Your primary responsibility will be to manage a diverse pool of Trusts and Foundations, both existing and prospective, to maximise philanthropic support across the RUH.

In this role, you will be pivotal in our Development Team, directly reporting to the Head of Development. Here, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with some of the UK's most prominent Trusts and Foundations. Your objective will be to achieve targets by proactively identifying and cultivating relationships with Trusts and Foundations and writing compelling grant applications for our key projects (medical research, patient and staff support, capital campaigns, medical equipment, and 'the area of greatest need.'

The ideal candidate will be adept at nurturing lasting relationships with funders, working towards a team income target of over £1.5m. You will also be a confident stakeholder manager, working closely with clinicians, researchers, and senior leaders to identify some of the key RUH funding areas that can deliver impact.

Central to your success will be your ability to articulate compelling cases for support verbally and in writing, translating complex information into persuasive appeals and grant applications. You will have a proven track record of demonstrating initiative in seizing fundraising opportunities and championing the endeavours of Trusts and Foundations. Your role will secure significant contributions for transformative projects and cultivate a culture of donor-centric giving, fostering long-term partnerships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Development- The post holder will manage Trust and Foundation income and secure an annual income of £500k+ towards the total Development team target of £1.5m. The Trusts Manager will manage a portfolio of major gifts prospects and will be responsible for the cultivation and stewardship of, five, six and seven figures gifts.
• Management—Responsible for managing an established prospect pool and identifying new donors while effectively reporting against income projections. Demonstrate potential for line management capabilities, with the opportunity for supervisory responsibilities as the role grows.
• Governance and Compliance- ensuring philanthropic giving complies with all fundraising regulatory and legal obligations, including GDPR, The Fundraising Regulator and the Code of Fundraising Practice.

ABOUT THE ROLE. CLN is a non-profit foundation that supports partners across the world to drive stronger climate action through litigation against high-emitting actors. We are now looking for a new Strategic Communications Manager to help us leverage the power of this litigation to shape global narratives that will exert pressure on governments and companies to take urgent climate action. Key responsibilities include:

● Develop CLN’s communications strategy for shifting narratives in support of climate action. You will do this in collaboration with CLN leadership and partners, including national legal and advocacy teams, international organisations and existing communications networks. This will include identifying proactive and reactive shared communications strategies that partners in our field can execute to maximise the impact of climate litigation and drive the message globally that climate action is a legal duty.

● Identify, develop and implement strategies to shift global media narratives on high-profile government and corporate cases. This will include crafting a global narrative or narratives around legal action, connecting that with wider climate efforts, and establishing strong working relationships with key international journalists as well as PR teams within relevant partners to ensure the right story is being told on this critical issue.

● Identify and develop opportunities within the global network of climate litigators to enhance collaboration and knowledge sharing in relation to communications and advocacy strategies to support climate litigation. This should include contributing to monitoring, evaluation and reporting on communications, ensuring this work results in actionable insights that can feed back into strategies and ongoing campaigns.

● Champion and communicate the ongoing successes and impacts of climate cases in CLN’s network. This will include acting as an information broker for other climate campaigners and communicators to ensure cases are properly understood and amplified by other climate, environmental and human rights groups. It will also involve developing case studies to effectively communicate around cases and their impacts.

● Support national teams by providing guidance as needed on strategic communications and how to fit national campaigns into the global conversation around climate litigation and accountability.

● Identify and address strategic communications capacity gaps across our network. This will include identifying and addressing training needs for spokespeople (both at CLN and across our partner network), messaging and framing, and digital campaigns and advocacy.

● Lead on managing and maintaining CLN’s external communications. This will include defining our external positioning, maintaining our website and relevant social media channels, and responding to media enquiries.

Purpose of the role 

You will be working with the Communications and Engagement team to promote CharityComms and what we offer, through the creation and development of effective and engaging content, and community and stakeholder engagement. 

Communications and content are at the heart of this role, and we’re looking for someone with demonstratable experience in strategic, content-based projects, including commissioning and editing content from external stakeholders, social media management and content creation, and community management. 

Social media management and community engagement 

You will own the social media management of our channels, maximising their performance and supporting stakeholder engagement with our work. You will:

• Deliver and adapt a creative and engaging social content strategy with the Communications and Engagement Manager that meets our wider business aims and objectives. 
• Craft key organisational messaging into engaging social media content and posts to generate conversations. 
• Be responsible for creating, scheduling and managing social content using Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and our management tool, Sprout Social. 
• Responsible for maintaining upkeep of social analytics reporting, as directed by the Communications and Engagement Manager, to ensure activity supports wider marketing, communications and engagement strategies. 
• Continuously improve our social media presence and brand profile, including recommending and piloting new approaches to content and channel development to increase community engagement and meet targets. 
• Manage and monitor forum and social media groups and act as facilitator of conversations where needed, working closely with relevant colleagues and stakeholders.

WWF, the world's leading international conservation NGO, is looking for a Producer to join its Content Team dedicated to putting powerful storytelling and compelling content at the heart of WWF’s advocacy, communications and fundraising objectives.

In this role, you will be part of an in-house production team passionate about creating fascinating stories, with compelling narratives, and quality content to engage audiences, inspire participation, and motivate action for our natural world.

We’re looking for someone with:

· An excellent track record in identifying and developing engaging stories for different audiences across the modern multi-media landscape.

· Demonstrable experience in producing content in multiple formats, including: animation, data-visualisation, photography and video formats

· Experience of working with photographers, filmmakers, editors, animators, creative agencies and broadcast media.

· A passion for the conservation of our natural world, and a good understanding of current natural history, conservation, and environmental issues.

· Practical, well-organised, able to juggle multiple priorities, and good with budgets and deadlines.

· Video-editing (eg Premiere Pro) &/or Social Media in-app video production skills & experience an advantage.

Role description

We are looking for two self-motivated individuals to lead our programme delivery. One Programme Manager will be based in London with potential travel required across different locations in England, most likely Reading and Birmingham. The other Programme Manager will be based in Reading with potential travel required across different locations in England, most likely London, Birmingham, and the SE of England.

At the forefront of the organisation, you will be responsible for delivering all programmes allocated to you. Working alongside the Director of Programmes, you will be responsible for leading conversations related to retention and expansion of partnerships to drive our mission.

Our programme delivery involves maintaining partnerships with schools and universities, supporting our volunteers to become highly effective coaches, and managing programmes end-to-end from initial planning through to impact evaluation.

As well as delivering programmes in schools, once qualified as a coach, you will have the opportunity to be a professional coach to young adults from disadvantaged backgrounds currently at university or in the early stages of their career. 

You will also be responsible for the retention and renewal of partnerships within the region. You won’t have responsibility for generating new partnerships, but will be expected to support the CEO and Director of Programmes with identifying new opportunities and partners where you can.

Programme coordination and delivery: 

• Coordinate and run multiple in-school and online programmes (core and peer to peer) across the region. 

• Set timelines for programme start and finish dates. 

• Oversee programme quality and communicate with school staff  weekly to provide feedback after sessions. 

• Facilitate in-school or digital workshops for groups of pupils (KS1-5). 

• Plan and organise graduation trips to a local university for pupils on the programme.

• Coordinate and allocate coaches to school programmes, communicating with them weekly and when needed arranging transport for them to schools.

• Collect data for monitoring and evaluation purposes, such as pre and post programme questionnaires, attendance records, and pupil and coach feedback.

• Report regularly to the Director of Programmes on key performance indicators and  programme updates.

• Build and maintain relationships with coaches, pupils and teachers.

• Collect data and write impact reports and case studies.

• Once qualified Coach on our Lifecycle programmes.

Volunteer recruitment and management:

• Recruit and retain volunteer coaches (meeting minimum requirements set termly). 

• Manage volunteers and Head Coaches.

• Deliver coach training to volunteers in person and online. 

• Create a thriving community of social mobility advocates among university  students and young professionals. 

• Develop and maintain relationships with universities, corporate partners and others.

Contributing to the development of the region and wider organisation:

• Ensure retention of schools within the region by delivering high quality programmes, and leading retention, renewal, and expansion conversations with partners.

• Support a strong and supportive network of schools, Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs), universities, corporate partners and others.

• Ensure the retention of volunteer coaches (meeting minimum targets set termly).

• Maintain relationships with coaches, pupils and teachers.

• Contribute to programme design, take part in a working group and whole team meetings.

• Content generation  for social media and marketing materials. 

• Running pupil and school leader focus groups.

• Carry out other tasks that are within the scope and spirit of the role.

Person Specification

Essential characteristics and experience: 

• Passion for social mobility. We have big aims and are looking for those who share our desire to make education fairer in the UK so a person’s background does not determine their future.

• Ability to think on your feet. Volunteer management and working with young people can be unpredictable, so you will need to be comfortable working reactively to solve challenges at short notice.

• Programme or project management experience. 

• Experience with young people. Comfortable running a session or delivering a workshop with a group of young people from age 8-18.

• Relationship building and facilitating. This is a public-facing role so you will be involved in communicating and delivering workshops to groups as well as communicating our mission to a wide range of stakeholders (business leaders, senior members of MATs, universities etc.).

• Experience of coaching or willing to complete a Level 1 Coaching Qualification.

• Experience of sales or partnership management/development.

• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal - and experience of making presentations to diverse audiences.

• Ability to think and plan strategically to achieve successful organisational outcomes.

• Clear analytical skills, and ability to plan ahead and supervise and support operations.

• Ability to make quick and clear decisions.

• Excellent planning skills to ensure effective use of resources and budget.

• Carry out other tasks that are within the scope and spirit of the role.
