To help us achieve our mission, we are recruiting qualified social workers with direct experience of working with children and families, and knowledge and experience of supporting social work students. We are looking for candidates who can contribute to the delivery of teaching across the year, support participants in their local authority hubs and supervise participants during the 2nd year of the programme.
Practice Tutors (PTs) work closely as a peer group to share effective ways of working across participant practice hubs, local authorities and regions. They play a key role within the development and delivery of our social work curriculum, contributing knowledge and expertise to create a culture that promotes outstanding social work education and enables teams to do their best work.
PTs are responsible for teaching and developing participants at the Readiness to Practice stage, regional teaching days and, in participant hubs within local authorities. PTs support four practice hubs, based within statutory children’s social care services. Each practice hub is led by a Consultant Social Worker (CSW). Core to the Practice Tutor role is the ability to provide support, challenge and guidance to participants and CSWs to ensure a high-quality practice learning experience.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Use social work knowledge, theory, practice skill and experience to develop and support participants to become outstanding social workers
- Support CSWs to lead the hubs, role model best social work practice and support effective practice educators
- Teaching for year one participants is during the Readiness for Practice stage both in person and online, attend face to face regional recall days and whole cohort online teaching.. There is also online teaching for our year 2 participants on the programme through large lectures, small seminars and one to one support as necessary

We are looking for a registered social worker with experience in teaching and learning, and an intellectual curiosity to challenge and develop their own ideas by keeping up to date with current research and evidence. The role will suit someone who is passionate about the development of social work practice, innovation and leadership who has a thought-through vision of what excellent social work looks like.

Through this work we have seen how challenging parents and carers can find supporting their children’s emotional wellbeing difficulties. Supported by funding from the Surrey Wellbeing Partnership Innovation Fund, we are delighted to be recruiting to this new role of Family Wellbeing Practitioner, which expands our current Community Wellbeing Team offer. This is a collaboration with YMCA East Surrey working in partnership to ensure consistency of support to parents and carers across Surrey. Responsibilities
- To work collaboratively and effectively with statutory and voluntary agencies, to identify parents/carers in need of support and to agree effective referral processes.
- To create, develop and deliver one-to-one interventions, workshops and presentations for small parent/carer groups covering a range of emotional wellbeing and mental health topics.

About the role

As a Youth Practitioner, you’ll play a key role in keeping children safe from harm and supporting them and their families on a path to a brighter future. You’ll be part of a dynamic team delivering Railway Children’s programme in the UK, in partnership with British Transport Police (BTP).
Working with other Youth Practitioners in your project area, you will be responsible for supporting a number of young people who have been identified as being vulnerable on the transport system. The role will involve working directly with young people and their families to reduce risks, as well as building strong relationships other social care, Police, third sector agencies and local services in the area.

What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who has worked with vulnerable young people and families, with an in-depth understanding of the issues they face and the impact of trauma. With a relevant qualification in youth work or social care or equivalent experience, you’ll have experience of providing front line support to safeguard some of the most vulnerable young people in the UK. You’ll have the ability to engage young people, their parents or carers within the community and deliver direct support to address issues within the family unit.

GASP Motor Project (GASP) is at an exciting period of development and growth. We are seeking an ambitious and positive fundraiser to join our successful team. GASP is an education charity delivering courses in motor mechanics and engineering to young people across Surrey who may be on the periphery of mainstream education, in danger of entering the youth justice system or disengaged with their lives and future. We work with schools, statutory organisations and charity partners to ensure that the needs of these young people are met and exceeded.
We are looking for someone with drive and determination to work with our Fundraising Manager, to deliver the planned increase in income required to execute our strategic development and growth. You will be responsible for securing core and restricted income through community and corporate fundraising. Capitalising on GASP’s success and reputation built over the last 20 years, you will provide the highest levels of stewardship to ensure that existing supporters remain fully engaged with us and that new supporters are motivated to progress GASP’s mission.
Purpose of the role
This role requires an individual who can multi-task and manage their own work timetable. The post-holder will be an experienced, out-come driven individual who understands the needs of the charity and the young people with whom we work.
You will be required to:
- Work with the Fundraising Manager to implement our fundraising strategy to support the growth of GASP, generating agreed levels of income for the charity.
- Grow GASP’s network of supporters to ensure long-term income generation and sustainability.
- Identify, research and engage with Community groups and companies across Surrey, nurturing relationships to maximise opportunities for income generation.
- Develop and submit compelling funding approaches, matching interests and priorities, to secure operational and core income.
- Provide the highest levels of stewardship, ensuring that current and new supporters feel valued and effective.
- Initiate a programme of meetings/visits for funders and supporters to ensure sustained engagement with GASP and the young people with whom we work.
- Ensure that funding information is logged on GASP’s database (Beacon) and is kept up to date.
- Ensure funders receive appropriate acknowledgement, recognition and feedback on the monitoring of inputs, outputs and outcomes as per their specific requirements.
- Liaise with GASP’s Programme Coordinator to monitor progress on funded programmes and collate information for dissemination to funders as required.
- Work with the GASP team to monitor restricted income and ensure it is allocated in line with funders’ wishes.
- Identify appropriate activity plans to ensure that fundraising targets are met or exceeded.
- Support the fundraising activities and events of our community and corporate funders to facilitate maximum success.
Ideally you will have a minimum of two years’ experience working in a similar role but we also welcome transferable skills and are looking primarily for a positive and outgoing person who is enthusiastic about our work and will slot happily into our friendly team.

Horsham Y Centre supports 50 young people aged 16-25 to alleviate the risk of or impact of homelessness. The project is staffed 24 hours a day with a support team, night team and management based onsite. The service aims to support residents into independent accommodation through life skills support. Situated in the middle of Horsham, the project has strong links with and contributes to the local community.
We are looking for a Supported Housing Support Worker to join our Horsham Y Centre team. Main areas of responsibilities are:
Housing
- Coach young people to manage their occupancy agreement and adhere to house rules, in preparation for independent living.
- Promote a credit culture, encouraging young people to keep up to date with all payments for rent.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of housing and welfare benefits for young people and be well-informed on significant changes to housing law.
- Deal effectively with non-compliance issues, such as non-payment of rent or damage to room, using restorative practices and working collaboratively with the rest of the team.
Coaching and Engagement
- Coach young people so they can articulate their aspirations and ambitions and take the lead in acquiring the skills they need to live independent and fulfilling lives.
- Ensure young people are encouraged to take responsibility for their own personal development, to engage with the services on offer and build strong networks and connections within the local community.
- Ensure consistent standards of safeguarding and Trauma Informed Practice when supporting young people, observing our safeguarding procedures, and keeping yourself and residents safe by respecting professional boundaries.
- Maintain client records on In-Form (client database) detailing the young person’s journey in relation to their strengths and needs, any risks, and any outcomes (to monitor service performance).
General
- Work as part of a team, on a rota shift pattern, ensuring young people at the service have non-judgemental, objective, and supportive staff during the day/evening, along with taking responsibility for personal safety during periods of lone working

For over 60 years the National Children’s Bureau (NCB) has been building a better childhood for all.
The purpose of this role is to support the research, evaluation and evidence activity in NCB, working across a range of projects. The role involves designing and undertaking primary, secondary, qualitative and quantitative research and analysis relating to children and young people and producing outputs under the supervision of senior researchers. About you
You will have had experience in delivering welfare support to others, and ideally this has been gained through a helpline.
You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a strong proficiency in Microsoft Teams and broad computer literacy that includes the ability to work across multiple applications simultaneously.
It is important that you have experience of planning and managing your own workload, with minimal supervision.
This role is homebased in the UK, you must live in the UK to be eligible.

Carers’ Hub works to improve carers’ lives in Lambeth through quality services and community engagement. We are an independent local charity, who work with carers aged five upwards. As the Young Adult Carers Service Coordinator you will:

The Donation Processing Team Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight to the donation processing function within the NSPCC. This role involves developing and implementing strategic plans for the team and leading projects to evolve and develop donation processing practices in line with Income Generation Directorates strategic direction.
Additionally, this role involves close collaboration with the finance and fundraising teams to ensure seamless donation processing and accurate financial reporting. Central to the role is fostering a culture of continuous improvement and ensuing compliance with the legal regulations associated with not-for-profit fundraising
Working arrangements regarding hybrid working are flexible however, the Donation Processing Team is based in London so regular travel to London would be required.
Job purpose
To oversee the processing of all donations to NSPCC, as well as take the lead on Gift Aid for the organisation and the operational management of our third-party response handling and fulfilment agency.
- This role involves managing the operations of the donation processing team of 9 staff and ensuring their work is carried out accurately and efficiently.
- The role will be responsible for ensuring the work of the team is compliant with relevant regulations, internal policies/procedures and best practice in donation processing.
