This post is a key appointment for the IOP, which consists of 140 staff, with offices in London, Dublin and Cardiff and staff spread across the UK and Ireland. With a £17 million turnover the IOP is a core part of the wider IOP Group, which along with IOP publishing has a total of 680 staff and income of £80 million. The IOP is overseen by an elected Council of 18 trustees. The Council delegates executive leadership to the CEO – who this post reports to and the Executive Team, which this post is a key member of, all work closely together in the delivery of the strategy. The IOP’s governance structures have recently been reviewed to ensure that they are fit for purpose for a modern, progressive organisation that encourages strong member engagement.
Following the launch of a new strategy and extensive restructure we are looking for an inspirational Director of People and Operations to lead this work for the IOP.
For the postholder to be successful, they must consult and work closely with IOP staff, the elected officers and Council, engage volunteers and members, and help the organisation to form strong links with key stakeholder and key delivery partners, particularly in key areas of people, workplace, IT and digital. This involves setting clear direction and priorities for the IOP team, delivering measurable impact, developing the assets and infrastructure IOP staff and members rely on.

The HAF Project Manager is the strategic lead for the HAF programme. You will manage a budget of over £800,000, make commissioning decisions, and ensure strong due diligence processes and quality control. You will collaborate with HAF provider organisations from the voluntary and community sectors, ensuring high-quality delivery. Additionally, you will work closely with YCF colleagues to communicate the impact of HAF, represent YCF in senior spaces, and assist in reporting to YCF’s Board of Trustees.

Position: Project/Operations Manager (Part-time)
Location: UK-based with travel to South Sinai, Egypt
About Us: The Makhad Trust is a UK registered charity dedicated to sustaining the environment and natural heritage of the Bedouin tribes in the Sinai Mountains and Desert in Egypt. Our focus on supporting them is by renewing access to water and supporting traditional lifestyles. The Bedouin are a marginalised community, who are barred from many forms of employment yet receive little or no help from Egyptian authorities. A 15+ year drought dried up wells, then collapse of the tourism industry in 2013 bought unemployment, and huge floods have filled in wells. Access to drinking water is difficult. The Trust gives support through restoration of wells for drinking and growing food, and building small dams, and small projects such as beekeeping training, herb growing and carpentry training. Restored wells provide drinking water and ability to grow crops for eating, promoting health and well being, and for income.
About the Role: This unique UK based dual role combines fundraising and administration in the UK with practical project initiatives in Sinai, Egypt. You will be instrumental in transforming lives by ensuring access to clean water and supporting sustainable livelihoods in a unique way by both supporting Sinai Trust in office operationally and directly in the field. The successful candidate will be travelling to Sinai for 2 weeks 4 times per year and will involve visiting ongoing well restorations, assessing new wells for restoration, cataloguing the costs by the well owner, and paying the well owner for the work done. Some of these will be easier to access, given their proximity to nearby roads compared to others which require a 3 hour walk into the high mountains to reach with steep mountainside journeys with no visible paths so the successful candidate will need to be mountain fit. Through these journeys you will be accompanied by our Sinai manager who is a Bedouin from the local town and will act as a guide and provide local knowledge.

As Team Manager you will oversee the operational management and delivery of short break clubs delivered across a range of schemes across Surrey and West Sussex. You’ll work with the MS Society Governance function and support relevant EIG Policy Owners to ensure all EIG policies are reviewed, clear, concise and documented, and all policy and regulatory areas are compliant with adequate assurance. You’ll develop and oversee annual plans for EIG policy and compliance development, reviews, reporting, audits and training.
As EIG CI Lead, you’ll work with MS Society CI function, to champion, develop, and implement CI activities within EIG, and in line with MS Society CI organisational framework, including principles, standards, methodology, and documentation.
You will also provide support for various other ad-hoc EIG activities and initiatives that support quality improvement within EIG.

The Destitution Project (DP) is a dynamic and well-respected charity at the forefront of refugee and asylum seeker support in Bolton, Greater Manchester. Proud recipient of the 2020 Queen's Award for Voluntary Service! As DP’s Operations and Development Manager, you will provide overall leadership and management for the drop in and casework operations, staff and volunteers. This will include attending and being responsible for oversight at the Wednesday Drop-in and liaising with service providers and partner organisations.
Our Wednesday Drop-in offers a safe, welcoming space for people to meet and mix. We provide a hot meal; food parcels for asylum seekers; clothing and household goods and much more. Our Casework Service provides information and support face to face at the Drop-in and remotely through the week to first time applicants; refugees newly granted Leave to Remain and refused asylum seekers.
Our service is delivered by a passionately committed team of three staff members (part-time) and a volunteer core of thirty including 6 trustees. A few of the Team have been with the Project since its foundation as an independent charity in 2015; others have joined along the way, some having initially come to DP as service users themselves. People with lived experience are central to everything we do, not just as service users, but as staff, volunteers and trustees.
You will work closely with DP’s Trustees and the DP Coordinating Committee to ensure smooth service delivery; develop and implement DP’s long-term strategic plans and, via consultation and feedback, build resilient services and activities that meet service users’ needs and help enhance the local community. This will include building relationships in the community and representing DP at events and via external networks.

JOB DESCRIPTION – Finance & Operations Coordinator
Reporting to: Business Development & Operations Manager
About the role
This role is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants their work to contribute to the effective operational running of the organisation. You will provide a vital link across Collaborate and so you’ll need to be a good communicator and collaborator. You will liaise with our project and internal teams to ensure the accuracy and consistency of our information, to support good management and decision-making. Your work will help us to ensure that we are managing our project budgets appropriately, particularly in relation to expenses and sub-contractor (Associate) costs.
We’re looking for a highly numerate and well-organised person, someone who enjoys working with data, with impeccable attention to detail and who is eager to support our finance and operations functions.
As with all of our roles, you should seek to embody the values of the organisation in all that you do.
Job responsibilities
You will be supported by and work closely with the Business Development & Operations Manager and will liaise with our bookkeeper.
Your day-to-day role includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Finances

Ensuring our financial records are complete and accurate.

Processing and approving the team’s monthly expenses.

Liaising with project teams to ensure project expenses budgets are managed effectively.

Processing and ensuring our Associates’ invoices are approved and paid each month.

Help to develop a new process for approval and payment of our other supplier invoices and will then take on responsibility for that approvals process.

Managing our invoice schedule, ensuring that we are invoicing for our projects in a timely way

Liaising with our bookkeeper to maintain the finance inbox, responding to some queries and escalating others where necessary.

Informing clients when payments have been received and sending reminders for payment as payment terms are approaching.

Liaising with clients (particularly new clients) to ensure that we are set up as a supplier, purchase order numbers are raised to enable us to invoice and that the necessary processes are followed to enable us to be paid for our projects.

Working with the Director of Finance & Operations to identify, develop and implement improvements to our financial processes and systems.

Developing and sharing updates on finances as required, e.g. monthly cashflow updates for the Executive Directors
Operations

Ensuring clarity and accuracy on CMAP (our project platform - NB no prior knowledge of this is expected!) for our projects to ensure:

Accurate expense handling, to ensure they’re charged correctly to our clients

Associate budget allocations are correct and up-to-date

Checks are carried out before projects are closed
