You will bring a strong understanding of the communications challenges that charities face as well as demonstrable expertise in training for charities, innovative programme design, securing grant income and other forms of funding, and working with multiple stakeholders.
This role would suit someone with deep knowledge and experience of the UK charity sector combined with a strong interest in the latest media and communications trends and applications.

About Media Trust

Key responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategies and new initiatives to drive growth and innovation in the range of charity programmes we currently provide, drawing on sectoral insights and taking a user-led approach as much as possible.
- Programme Oversight & Line Management: Manage the delivery to a very high standard of all our charity capacity-building and training programmes, including being a highly effective line manager for our team of dedicated programme managers.
- Grant Writing and Income Generation: Develop proposals to secure new and repeat funding support for Media Trust's charity programmes and lead the development team in meeting income targets through paid for training for clients including charities and funders.
- Partnership Development: Forge effective partnerships with relevant stakeholders including other charities, infrastructure bodies like NCVO and ACEVO as well as delivery partners including Equally Ours and Climate Outreach, government bodies, and trusts and foundations.
- Representation: Represent Media Trust at charity sector conferences and other events and on social media, to raise awareness about Media Trust and our work.
What we are looking for in you
- Senior Leadership Experience: Proven track record of senior leadership in the charity sector, ideally at an infrastructure or membership organisation, including line management experience and responsibility for managing programme delivery and budgets.
- Training & Capacity Building Programme Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in designing, delivering and measuring the impact of training and other capacity-building programmes for charities and under-represented communities.
- Business Development: Demonstrated expertise in designing and pitching for paid for training and other services.
- Grant Writing Experience: Strong grant writing skills with a successful history of securing funding from diverse sources including government grants, trusts and foundations, and corporates.
- Charity Sector Knowledge: A strong understanding of the communications challenges charities are facing and what interventions are working/not working.
- Knowledge of Media & Comms Trends and Applicability to Charities: Knowledge of the latest media and communications trends and how we can work with our industry partners to ensure charities are using emerging platforms, applications, etc.
- Confidence in Public Speaking & Using Social Media: Experience of speaking at conferences and other public events and facilitating training for large groups. You will also be confident about using your social media profile to raise awareness about Media Trust and our work.
- Outstanding Communication Skills: Very strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively, with the ability to adapt tone and approach for different stakeholders.

The Digital Content Manager for our Marketing and Communications capability will focus and lead on developing exciting and informative digital content across RNID’s programmes and audiences with a focus on our website. A familiarity with wordpress and other website platforms is a plus.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated individual, who has a flexible attitude to lead on our translation service within the Fund.
The Fund is a truly bilingual organisation. Our principle is to treat the Welsh and English languages equally by offering a bilingual service to our customers and grant holders on a day-to-day basis.
You will work independently alongside numerous teams to ensure an effective and accurate translation service for the whole organisation. You will ensure that all our online and off-line materials, including new web pages, publications and corporate initiatives, are translated in accordance with agreed deadlines.
You will work closely with our Welsh Language Officer to ensure that the Fund fulfils its statutory legal requirements to comply with the Welsh Language Standards under the Welsh Language (Wales) Measure 2011.

What the job involves
This is an excellent opportunity to join our vibrant, proactive and attentive Brand and Media team in a varied and dynamic role. Our focus is on making Prostate Cancer UK widely recognisable and building a deep understanding of the cause for our brand to be sustained. Following audience insight, we gain the attention of priority audiences at tactical calendar moments through creative content and storytelling.
You’ll be helping to tackle some of the biggest issues facing prostate cancer, from building public support and momentum behind our ambitious research programme, to increasing public understanding of risk factors and treatment options.
With your expertise and understanding of the national health agenda you’ll plan, develop and deliver large scale integrated campaigns which result in high quality, engaging and impactful media coverage, working collaboratively with colleagues across Communications.

What you will do:
· Develop an events plan that will grow income using data from previous years to understand our supporters and build a creative and sustainable income plan for long term growth.

The Role
As our Individual Giving Officer, you will help to develop and implement the charity’s individual giving strategy.
Supporting the Individual Giving Manager, you will be the main point of contact and manage the day-to-day relationships with external face-to-face fundraising partners, who represent Yorkshire Cancer Research at private sites (e.g. supermarkets) and by going door-to-door to raise awareness of the work of the charity and encourage individuals to make regular gifts. You will be involved in all aspects of building and maintaining fundraising partner relationships.
Specifically, you will:
Support the charity’s face-to-face fundraising activities:

Work with the Marketing Team and face-to-face partners to build a range of marketing propositions that create memorable conversations and increase the likelihood of individuals deciding to sign up to give a regular donation.

Co-ordinate and facilitate training and engagement activity for new and current face-to-face fundraisers to keep them informed of and inspired by the latest developments at the charity.

Ensure face-to-face fundraisers have appropriate collateral and that all equipment and materials are kept up to date and are engaging for potential supporters.

Ensure face-to-face fundraisers represent Yorkshire Cancer Research in a way that aligns with the charity’s brand values and key messages.
Create campaigns, supporter journeys and develop onward stewardship:

With the support of the Individual Giving Manager, lead individual giving fundraising campaigns and help to develop new campaign propositions that will attract and retain supporters.

Work with the Individual Giving Manager and Supporter Engagement Team to develop and implement supporter journeys from beginning to end for newly acquired regular donors and other key supporter groups, aiming to increase levels of affinity with the charity and encourage life-time commitment.

In conjunction with the Supporter Engagement Team, regularly review fulfilment communications to all our individual giving supporters, ensuring they are compelling, accurate and fit for purpose.
Be responsible for data management and reporting:

Analyse campaigns and activity, including monthly reviews of key performance indicators, to provide insights and inform future decisions.

Use the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database to maintain accurate records, for data segmentation and for income and other KPI reporting purposes to ensure the effective management of all individual giving activities.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need:

To have a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline, or proven experience working in a similar role at a similar level.

To have experience of individual giving and/or new donor acquisition within the charity sector or similar customer service experience in another sector.

To have experience of campaign management including creating schedules, data management, creating briefing documents, budget management, analysing and reporting on results.

To have experience of having used insight to inform decision-making.

To have experience of working with databases and CRM platforms (e.g. Access or Raiser’s Edge).

To have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships.

About the Team
Our three Communities Teams are responsible for identifying, investigating and intervening in housing and homelessness practice issues. We engage with our local communities to understand the issues people are facing and apply expert housing knowledge, insight and analysis to identify solutions to them. As well as providing advice and advocacy for individuals, we also use our insight, relationships and influence to drive systemic change, always ensuring that Lived experience is at the heart of everything we do.
About the role
You’ll be responsible for delivering high quality housing advice, advocacy and casework to clients in community settings and remotely in line with local pressing issues, and managing others in this. You will develop relationships within the sector to gather evidence and insights into the impact of the housing emergency, and using those insights to drive systems change. You will lead on the development and delivery of a programme of capacity building, ensuring other organisations have the skills to act on housing rights. Influencing a range of stakeholders and decision makers across the housing sector will be important too.
You will act as a leader within the project and the wider Communities Team to help deliver and evidence our strategy at an operational level. We will count on you to line manage, supervise, coach and mentor a housing rights worker.
About you
To succeed, you’ll need to have experience of working with, and influencing, a range of internal and external stakeholders and enjoy collaborating with people from other teams and organisations. You’ll also need great time management skills, an enthusiasm for delivering workshops and presentations and a willingness to challenge practice and hold people to account. You’ll have a flair for leading and motivating others. Adept at engaging with individuals and communities, you enjoy gathering evidence and identifying insights, issues and trends. What’s more, you present information and arguments in a clear and compelling way and have excellent problem-solving skills. Proficiency using IT like Word, Excel, email, internet and in-house CRM systems is also required.

Our Lived Experience Insight Team’s aim is to ensure that the views of those affected by the housing emergency shape and influence all of Shelter’s work. People with lived experience are involved in a range of different ways, through forums and events in local communities, sharing their story as part of campaigns, and speaking out about the issues that affect them. This helps ensure that our services and campaigns are developed alongside local communities and so that lived experience informs everything we do.
About the role
This is an exciting role within our Lived Experience Insight team where you will be involved in developing and co-ordinating an impactful involvement and coproduction programme that helps us to deliver meaningful opportunities for people with lived experiences. We’ll rely on you to influence and shape the work that Shelter does by influencing culture change across the organisation and improving our practices around Lived Experience Insight in line with our strategic aims. You’ll not only lead elements of our Strategic Plan, but you’ll also support our colleagues across teams to develop their practice through design, delivery of training, resources and project support.
You’ll be line managing a small team of our Lived Experience Coordinators to support them in delivering our programmes across their region that aligns to local strategic priorities. Ensuring that you and your team develop and deliver monitoring tools will help us to make continuous improvements to the work we do both on a local scale and across the nation.
