About the role

You will join us at an exciting time ahead of launching our new three-year strategy, which puts growing our non-statuary income at its centre. This new role recognises the importance of this work and its impact on our cause.

Our aim is to increase commercial income at Solent Mind by at least 50% over the next three years. The Commercial Manager will generate business analysis, gather market insights, and explore creative new ideas to develop new and increase existing commercial activity across the charity. These insights will feed into business plans and be used to influence and shape operational delivery, increasing both income and surplus levels.

This role is within Solent Mind’s fundraising and external engagement team, working with colleagues across the charity. It is an exciting and dynamic place to work with opportunities to contribute to wider projects and develop your skills.

About you 

You’ll be experienced in the analysis and benchmarking of the performance of commercial activity through a review of data such as sales levels, turnover, cost of sales, footfall, and walk patterns, amongst other data sources. You’ll be able to identify new creative ideas for commercial income. You will be experienced in creating clear, actionable business plans for commercial activity while supporting colleagues in the delivery of this plan ensuring sustainability of the commercial income.

BEO is a civil rights charity that was set up to challenge and dismantle systemic racism. We work with Black communities by using campaigning, policy and research in conjunction with the law to effect meaningful change. 
Legal services are central to BEO. We are therefore looking for someone of 4yrs PQE who has experience in social welfare, human rights, public and administration law and who seeks an opportunity to use those skills specifically in the area of challenging systemic racism. 

In the last year we have been developing our relationships with partner organisations, ranging from community groups, our stakeholder law firms, NGOs and law firms experienced in equality and discrimination law, to deliver legal services. The role holder will be required to build on and expand these relationships so that BEO can offer quality legal advice to Back communities in the nations and regions across the United Kingdom. 
We are building our internal legal team so that we can provide targeted legal support to Black communities. We are looking for someone to work with the Director of Legal Services and Policy to ensure that high quality legal advice, support and representation are the hallmark of BEO. 

Apart from delivering targeted legal advice and representation and identifying and running strategic litigation cases, the role holder will be required to think creatively to assist in fundraising and campaigning to develop a sustainable legal service. BEO does not have a Legal Aid Agency contract so self funds all legal work. BEO is a small team, so the role holder must have the skills and confidence to work on their own initiative as well as with members of other teams in BEO.

Senior Programme Officer, In2STEM

Salary: £32,000 - £34,000

In2scienceUK’s aim is to promote social mobility and diversity in science, technology, engineering and maths. We do this by leveraging the skills and passion of researchers and STEM professionals to support young people from low socio-economic backgrounds to achieve their potential and progress to careers in STEM.

The In2STEM programme is a fantastic opportunity for 16-19 year olds to gain insights directly from STEM industry and research professionals. The programme provides over a thousand students each summer with a blend of online and in-person activities, equipping participants with the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to excel in STEM. 

What we are looking for

We are excited to be recruiting a Senior Programme Officer to join our growing In2STEM Programme team. The focus of this role will be to support delivery and ensure that our young people have an exceptional experience on the programme. You will also be kept engaged through deputising for the In2STEM Programme Manager one day per week.

You will have a good understanding of the challenges today’s young people from less privileged backgrounds may face and bring a proven track record of supporting vulnerable young people and/or adults with a range of support needs, including mental health needs, learning difficulties and disabilities. Duties and responsibilities

The purpose of the Senior Programme Officer role is to support the successful delivery of the In2STEM Programme and ensure our young people have an excellent experience.

Your specific duties will include:

Programme Delivery

• Managing a caseload of students and volunteers from application stage to successful completion of the programme, including recruitment, placement matching, onboarding, event planning and programme delivery (in-person and online), troubleshooting throughout the programme and evaluation.

• Where appropriate, supporting the Programme Manager as the first port of call for programme staff with enquiries or needing advice relating to pastoral care for our beneficiaries.

• Developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with partners and funders to further the delivery of our work. This will include for example, working with schools, colleges, academic and professional services staff at universities.

• Creating and developing engaging resources to support the programme including video presentations, posters/flyers, case studies and website text and images.

• Monitoring student and volunteer applications to ensure targets and milestones are met.

• Maintaining up to date records via the programme database and ensuring data protection.

• Ensuring all operations are in line with Health and Safety and Safeguarding policies and procedures.

Evaluation

• Developing programme activities, using student and volunteer evaluation data and staff insights.

• Optimising systems, processes and ways of working, to ensure delivery models are scalable and achieve intended outputs and outcomes to the highest degree of quality, effectiveness, and efficiency.

• Maintaining a comprehensive overview of programme activities, among both staff and partners, and reporting on progress at regular intervals as defined internally and contractually.

• Supporting team members to create evaluation and student data reports.

• Supporting the creation and dissemination of case studies, working closely with the fundraising team to ensure funder requirements are met.

Deputy Managing

• Managing the In2STEM team when the Programme Manager is not working, including preparing and running programme update meetings from time to time.

• Supporting and assisting the Programme Manager to ensure organisational and delivery targets are achieved.

Person Specification:

Essential

• Track record of experience directly supporting vulnerable young people and/or adults with a range of support needs, including mental health needs, learning difficulties and disabilities, facilitating access to other support services as needed.

• An understanding of the social and economic barriers that prevent some young people accessing STEM careers and an ability to recognise the importance of diversity and inclusion in STEM.

• Knowledge and understanding of the STEM sector, including higher education, apprenticeships and STEM careers.

• Experience of delivering projects for young people including recruitment and caseload working.

• Experience developing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at various levels.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation skills and an ability to adapt to a range of audiences.

• Good understanding of safeguarding in practice when working with young people.

• Flexible and adaptable, with an ability to pick up new tasks quickly and keep a level head when faced with challenges.

• Knowledge, understanding or experience of programme or project evaluation.

• Experience of deputy managing or managing staff or volunteers.

Main responsibilities:

− Responsible for grants management and reporting in collaboration with the Development team; this ranges from supporting with budget proposal development, grants expenditure analysis, and reporting.
− Complete monthly grant expenditure allocations, using organisational knowledge to recommend allocations which optimise grant spending and highlight major variances against budget. If appropriate, identify possible remedial action(s).
− Prepare and present financial reports, dashboards to senior management and stakeholders.

We're looking for an innovative Divisional Business Manager to play a leading role as part of the senior Leadership Team contributing to and influencing decision making beyond the division and Trading. As the Divisional Business Manager, you will successfully develop the CRUK retail business both strategically and operationally in order to achieve income and profit targets, delivering through the Divisional Management team. You will be managing circa 8/9 Area Managers, 200 shops with a field-based infrastructure of approx 600 employees and 3,500 retail volunteers.

What will I be doing?

• To be the key decision maker to drive commercial performance of the division by working with both internal business partners and external partners where appropriate.

• In collaboration with the Divisional Manager leadership team, ensure retail operational objectives are delivered to the highest standard, that efficiencies are achieved and regular reviews are completed to continuously improve the operating model.

• Develop and deliver the divisional income, expenditure and contribution budgets; identify key financial risks and opportunities to maximise cost efficiencies.

Prospectus is excited to being working with an innovative children’s charity for a Marketing Manager. The postholder will drive successful telemarketing programmes, plan, and execute campaigns to attract, upgrade, retain, and win back supporters.

The Marketing Manager, you will manage telemarketing agencies and collaborate with internal teams to ensure campaigns are meeting KPIs and targets. Building and maintaining strong relationships with agencies, you’ll be using data-driven insights to adapt campaign deliver, driving continuous improvement in marketing decisions.

To be successful, you will have experience managing end-to-end high-performing telemarketing campaigns & teams. You will have in-depth knowledge of charity marketing compliance, up to date telemarketing landscape and agency models. You will have the ability to foster relationships with external telemarketing agencies. You will also have strong organisational and analytical skills and be able to work as a part of a team/on your own initiative.

At present they are looking to appoint an interim Director of Finance & Operations to provide interim cover during a restructure and permanent recruitment campaign.

Key deliverables:

• Ensure the efficient, effective development and running of the organisation’s Finance and Estates departments.
• As a key member of the SLT, support the charity in executing its strategic plan.
• Overall responsibility for the management of the organisation’s financial plans, budgets and financial performance providing executive insight into new initiatives and scenarios.

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant and have previous experience of working at board level within a Not-for-Profit organisation. With substantive experience in financial planning and business partnering, you will possess excellent communication skills and be able to convey complex financial information to a diverse range of stakeholders. You will be an empowering leader with strong coaching skills, and the ability to develop and inspire others.

Fairtrade Foundation are recruiting for a Strategy & Planning Officer to play a critical role in supporting the Strategy & Planning team,  a small, talented group responsible for strategic planning and implementation, design and project management of critical strategic initiatives and the delivery of organisational governance ensuring regulatory compliance. Passionate about volunteering, community organising, or the value of people helping people? We’re hiring a Senior Volunteer Coordinator to join our Student Development Team.

Every year thousands of students volunteer to build communities around activities and social issues that are meaningful to them. These volunteer student leaders have a huge impact on the student experience of thousands more of their peers, as well as hundreds of people in the University’s local community. The Student Development Team aims to create opportunities for students to build and participate in communities that are inclusive, sustainable, ambitious, and impactful, and the Senior Volunteer Coordinator will play a key role in achieving this vision for our student leadership programmes.

In collaboration with a second Senior Volunteer Coordinator, you’ll be leading on a series of volunteering programmes that we’re really proud of. Since September 2023, student volunteers have raised over £150,000 for charitable causes, given over 2,800 hours of their time to volunteer directly in the local community, and broadcast an award-winning radio station, among other achievements. As the Senior Volunteer Coordinator you will coordinate the onboarding, skills development, and tailored support for volunteer student leaders who, in turn, coordinate their own volunteer teams. This means you’ll play a vital role in shaping our student leadership culture, as the way you manage your volunteers will influence the way they manage theirs.

This role is of strategic importance to our student leadership programmes as, alongside coordinating your own volunteering programmes, you’ll be working with other student-facing teams to inspire colleagues to develop their own volunteer management practices.

Our programmes are well-resourced, and we have an outstanding research & insight function that will support you to make data-driven decisions on making our programmes even better. We offer a comprehensive training programme for skills you might want to work on, from giving and receiving feedback well, to coaching and safeguarding. There’s no need for previous Higher Education sector experience – you might have coordinated teams of people in any context. We’re looking for someone who is capable of motivating or inspiring others into action, comfortable making autonomous decisions, and curious about exploring new ways of working.

This is an exciting time to join the Student Development team as we overhaul our approaches to volunteer management across the Union to ensure that volunteering remains attractive to students already balancing commitments including their studies and paid work.
