About the role
The National Communications Manager is a vital role in enabling both Emmaus UK and Emmaus communities and groups across the UK to achieve our ambition and strategic goal to shout louder, growing our profile and reach in order to support more individuals on the pathway out of homelessness.
Who are we looking for?
The National Communications manager will work with the Director of Fundraising and Influence to develop an ambitious communications strategy for EUK.
The role will develop and coordinate national communications programmes and campaigns and will lead on press and media work for EUK. This role will also take lead responsibility for internal communication at EUK and across the federation in the UK, linking to Emmaus Internationally.

Barnabas Aid is seeking a dynamic and strategic individual for the role of Head of Campaigns, a critical position within our International Outreach Department. Role Overview
Reporting to the Director of Income Generation and Marketing, the postholder will translate and operationalise the strategic objectives and priorities set out by the Board and Senior Leadership Team. Our Location
We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home, although there will be times when you will need to be at face-to-face meetings. You will be required to attend meetings in Hatfield/London twice a month, two Directorate days each year and occasional meetings with your team or our partner agencies. In addition, the charity meets four times annually at its office in Hatfield (or a location in London) for its’ ‘All Staff Together’ days, at which attendance is mandatory.

The role:
Marketing strategy and planning
- Developing and leading marketing strategies that help the FSRH meet its strategic objectives.

- Cascading the marketing strategy into the production of cross-organisational marketing plans and budget which align to FSRH’s strategic objectives, plan, and budget.

- Monitor and manage the production of branded items.
Insight and reporting
- Using data to understand our audience (e.g. Google analytics, iMIS CRM, RiSE CMS, FSRH Training Hub) to develop marketing activity and to measure against agreed metrics.
- Working with the Digital Manager and Data Manager to plan and implement updates and enhancements to the iMIS CRM processes and CMS webpages.
- Working with the Education and Training team to use the reporting from the Training Hub to help make decisions about future marketing for candidates/members.
- Ensure our activities are General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other relevant data protection regulation complaint.
Staff management
- Line manage the Marketing and Communications Manager.
- Recruit and manage any temporary/contract staff.
Representing the FSRH
- Attending FSRH events to help staff stands, talking to members and prospective members.
- Speaking at events about the FSRH to audiences of members and prospective members.
- Support the Membership Engagement Team during busy periods as required.
- To feed into and support the improvement of processes and systems to support the continuous modernisation of day-to-day operations.
- To assist the CEO on specific campaigns providing and analysing data to grasp issues, draw conclusions and solve problems.
You will have:
- A relevant Degree or equivalent by experience
- Marketing/Communications qualification (e.g. CIM, CAM) (Desirable)
- Experience as a strategic thinker combined with an ability to demonstrate a practical hands-on approach
- An excellent approach to written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding attention to detail and proof-reading abilities
- Ability to work under pressure, with flexibility to respond to changing priorities

- An interest in Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare
You will have experience:

Ideally an experienced and qualified CIMA Accountant; you will provide the charity with proven Business Partnering with Management Accounting experience skills, including BI reporting, stakeholder management and risk mitigation work. You will work as part of a small, dedicated team responsible for the effective management and control of the financial functioning of a medium sized dynamic Charity. This a pivotal role leading the financial outcomes, which will directly support senior leadership and top-level decision making and closely partner with an array of key non-finance colleagues across the charity and its trading company.

Phyllis Tuckwell is looking for an experienced Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships to lead the newly formed Philanthropy Team. This role will lead on the recruitment and management of major donors as well as leading a team that also has responsibility for trusts, foundations and corporate fundraising.
We are currently nearing the end of our Your New Hospice capital appeal and are looking for someone to take our high value giving into this exciting new phase. This role will be responsible for building a strategy and direction for the team, building a portfolio of major donors, and creating and optimising business processes. This role will also be a part of the Income Generation Leadership team and so will be expected to contribute to a collaborative and supportive team environment that values cross team working and fluid supporter journeys.
The successful candidate will:
- Have significant experience of securing and cultivating five figure donations from high net worth donors.
- Have experience in working in one of either trusts, foundations or corporate fundraising.
- Have the ability to build meaningful relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Have experience in developing and managing business processes that underpin high value fundraising, including due diligence processes and building of cases for support.
- Have a working knowledge of the requirements of high value funders and able to provide high level supporter care.
- Have experience of line management and leadership.
- Be passionate about our project and our cause and be able to bring to life our case for support through persuasive communications.
- Work collaboratively within a multi-functional income generation team embracing a culture of continuous learning and mutual support for colleagues.

Role Summary
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a skilled, experienced, and motivated Head of Communications and Engagement to lead on our organisation wide communications and engagement activity ensuring effective alignment with our Strategic plan objectives and our charity manifesto. A priority objective for us is the elevation of survivor voice and the successful candidate will be able to contribute to that objective with creativity, empathy, and sensitivity. Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities will include:
- To lead on Communications and Engagement activity for the whole organisation working closely with the CEO and wider Senior Management Team.
- To develop and implement engaging multi discipline campaigns including PR activity that contribute to the delivery of Causeway’s Strategic objectives.
- Lead on developing and communicating Causeways’ core messaging and brand, both internally and externally, ensuring agreed guidelines are adhered to and consistent terminology and language is always used.
- Create a pipeline for gathering stories and case study content in a way that does not place a significant burden on frontline staff and will demonstrate a clear understanding of informed consent and safeguarding in relation to vulnerable individuals and risk assessment processes.
- Build and maintain relationships with key journalists, broadcasters, content creators, celebrities and influencers as required to help further our objectives.
- Oversee the management of content and utilisation of all our digital engagement and communications channels including social media platforms and our website.
- Work to position Causeway at the forefront of the sectors we operate in communicating our innovative approaches, gaining traction and recognition across a wide audience.
- Ensure that all media, press and other external queries are handled in a timely sensitive, mutually beneficial, and accurate way.
- Effectively evaluate and measure the impact of all Communications and PR activity.
- Keep up to date on best practice and news within our sector, particularly in relation to changes to communications innovation, legislation, and codes of practice.
- Ensure Causeway abides by all relevant legislation in relation to its communications.
- Ensure all spend in relation to Communications and Engagement team and projects is within the parameters of the agreed department budget.
- Proactively respond to breaking and industry worthy news to highlight our services and position us at the front of industry knowledge sharing.
- Support identified Causeway media spokespeople in preparing for press and media interviews through thorough and accurate briefings and act as a media spokesperson when required.
- Track relevant daily news stories to our impact areas, responding to trends, key industry announcements and maximizing opportunities.
- Line manage and coach a small but effective team of communications, marketing, and content production staff
- Ensure the CEO and board of trustees are provided with quarterly reports on department progress.
- Play an active role in the senior management team and maintain an effective working relationship with your peers and colleagues, to ensure the work of the Communications and Engagement department aligns with organisational and departmental goals, strategy, and actions.
- Support senior management with internal communications as and when needed.

This role is key to making this happen. You will head up our brilliant Fundraising & Marketing Team to ensure we take a joined-up approach to supporter acquisition and income generation. You will work closely with the Chief Executive and all members of the team to meet targets, but critically, to ensure we take full advantage of every opportunity to maximise benefit for our bike recipients. This includes oversee the delivery of our retail activity which has recently moved online. This is an exciting opportunity to build on good work done over the past two years.
Being a small charity, we work in an agile manner which allows for creative ideas to flourish and new ideas to be implemented quickly. We hold regular donation sessions from our London and Birmingham workshops, so there is opportunity to see the impact of your work first hand.
