Pennyhooks Farm Trust, a unique and vital organic farm in the Vale of the White Horse, seeks an experienced and passionate Head of Fundraising to lead our fundraising activities and spearhead an ambitious campaign.
About Pennyhooks: Pennyhooks Farm Trust, in Oxfordshire, provides a haven for over 30 individuals with autism, many of whom are non-verbal or have complex sensory needs. Here, our clients (know at Pennyhooks as students), actively participate in farm life, from animal care and horticulture to rural crafts and conservation and are fully involved in our renowned fundraising events (Christmas, Spring and Summer Open Days)
The Role: In this pivotal position, you'll design and execute a fundraising strategy for Pennyhooks Farm Trust to secure and meet ongoing revenue targets. In addition, you will work on an urgent and vital capital project to secure essential funding to develop residential accommodation on the farm, to sustain the purposeful working of these young people as they grow older, providing them with a home and a job for life. This will be through the management of a portfolio of major donor, foundation and corporate projects, high-level volunteers and other influential individuals and organisations, working with Trustees and other farm team members.
Your Impact: You will be in key role, raising funds to sustain the purposeful live of young people on the autistic spectrum, creating opportunities for them to live and work full-time in a nurturing and supportive environment.
The capital project will directly address the pressing concerns of families, as captured in a parent's heartfelt plea,
"As parents, we have a date stamped on our forehead of when we will no longer be able to care for our children. What happens to them then?"

Working collaboratively across fundraising, you’ll help deliver unforgettable experiences that engage our supporters and raise vital funds. Who we’re looking for:
We’re looking for a driven, collaborative, and ambitious individual with a wealth of experience in managing and delivering exceptional events across a diverse fundraising portfolio. You’ll be equally at home overseeing our London Marathon team of 100+, orchestrating a bespoke trek across the Sahara, or running a prestigious awards evening or high-value gala dinner. With outstanding stewardship and people management at your core, you’ll have a sharp eye for spotting opportunities for both the team and individuals within the team and a passion for innovating new ways to raise vital funds through events.
You’ll bring the energy to hit the ground running, seamlessly stepping into our established events programme and building on its incredible success. Confident in managing seven-figure budgets and delivering on ambitious targets, you’ll help drive forward our mission to defeat brain tumours faster.
Key accountabilities:

Manage and deliver a year-round events fundraising programme which includes maximising challenge events, achieving 6 figure income from our flagship mass participation walking event and continuing to grow engagement

Deliver on and refine our six-year fundraising strategy, building and maintaining a good understanding of the needs of each of our programmes (challenge, flagship, special, and operational), priorities and desired charitable goals

Lead on the strategy for our flagship event; The Twilight Walk to develop it to a £1m income generating event over the next three years

Identify events, both new and existing, to acquire new audiences from and effectively grow our portfolio both in participation and income
-
Work closely with the Philanthropy and Partnerships teams to develop and deliver our new Special Events programme. Identify new event opportunities for high value income to support our existing and core activity and lead on delivery and execution of those events

Deliver best in class events which meet and exceed fundraising targets and garner positive recognition across the sector

Develop our stewardship programme and supporter care, maximising cross selling opportunities to ensure continued support across all event activities within our portfolio

Develop appropriate budgets in collaboration with other members of the team

Maintain effective monitoring practices to identify new event opportunities

Lead, manage, develop and inspire the team of three Senior Events Officers, two Events Officers, an Events Assistant and an Intern, overseeing projects and ensuring activities meet objectives

Ensure all processes and procedures are in place and adhered to for all events including income coding, risk assessments, data protection and updating our CRM (Salesforce)

Work with the Marketing and Digital team to develop and deliver marketing plans to ensure we achieve target numbers of participants for all events

Be a key member of our extended leadership team, and contribute to the development and delivery of the organisation’s wider strategy, through knowledge of the funding landscape

In this exciting role, you will lead on the development and delivery of our flagship fundraising event, Who’s Cooking Dinner? working with the UK’s top chefs and restaurants. You will also play a key role in new and returning events such as a celebrity golf tournament ‘The Mini Masters,’ and our annual cultivation event.
This is a great role for someone looking to lead an area of significant growth for the charity, delivering exciting and unique events which raise funds and support our wider ambitions across philanthropy and the wider charity. You will also have line management responsibility for our newly created Special Events Officer role.

About the Role
As an Events Coordinator, the primary focus of the work will be to coordinate the production of face to face and digital events. The Jack Petchey Foundation delivers live venue events and digital events for the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme. The digital events are pre-recorded digital broadcasts for schools and clubs and are in place where a live venue event is not possible. The role will also assist in the production of both live and digital events and provide some general administration support for the events team. Main Areas of Responsibility
Coordination of JPF Events and Event Presentation
1.1 Circulate invitations to schools and youth organisations to participate in live venue and digital events in a timely manner.
1.2 Ensure that tickets for live events and broadcast/pre-recorded digital events have been allocated and issued to all guests.
1.3 Invite VIPs to attend a live venue or record a message for the digital events and support them through this process, providing briefing and technical advice (if required).
1.4 Invite performers from schools or youth organisations to perform at live venue events, or record a piece for a digital event.
1.5 Source award winners’ citations for the event host’s script prior to the live venue event delivery or the event recording/broadcast.
1.6 Produce a presentation for the live venue events or broadcast digital events using presentation software. 1.7 Produce event programmes for live venue events.
1.8 Provide support to live venue events.
1.9 Undertake post-event follow up responsibilities.
2. General Administration Duties
2.1 Respond to event-related telephone /email enquiries.
2.2 Produce letters, minutes, and maintain digital and physical filing systems, using the JPF Salesforce database as appropriate.
2.3 Ensure accurate records are kept on the Salesforce system.
2.4 Collate event feedback responses and support with preparing management reports.
3. Event Materials and Events Office Upkeep
3.1 Support the AA Events Manager to ensure sufficient supplies of event materials, ordering new stock as necessary.
3.2 Organise and package event materials and resources for events. 3.3 Ensure supplies of materials are stored in a tidy/accessible manner. Other Responsibilities
4.1 Actively contribute to Event and JPF Team meetings.
4.2 Support specific JPF projects working with young people where required. 4.3 Offer telephone/email support and advice about JPF events.

We are seeking a bright and hardworking person to help our events team organise interesting, informative and impactful discussions between leading policy experts and high-profile politicians.
Reporting to the Head of Events and Partnerships, you will help us arrange panel discussions, speeches and policy roundtables, which take place online, in-person and hybrid. You will also contribute to our busy programme across the Liberal Democrat, Labour and Conservative Party Conferences in the autumn. Speakers at SMF events in 2024 have included a number of high-profile politicians including the Employment Minister, Schools Minister and former Shadow Secretary of State for Education and the Minister for Gambling. Topics covered have included transport poverty, student mental health, farmed animal welfare, economic fraud, pensions, social mobility, and prisoner rehabilitation.
The successful candidate will be expected to attend and support with the SMF’s events at future Autumn party conferences, for which some weekend and evening work may be required.
The duties of the Events Officer will include, but not be limited to:
- Supporting the SMF’s events team with the operational management of the SMF’s events in Westminster and at the political party conferences – these include; report launches, panel debates, seminars, dinners and expert roundtables.
- Researching and managing bookings for external venues, AV, catering, staff travel and accommodation

39th World Conference
• Responsible for overall project management of the in-person 39th WAGGGS World Conference in 2026, ensuring that the event fulfils the objectives and is delivered on time and within budget.

Our Technical Knowledge team oversees Blue Ventures’ technical pillars (Secure Rights, Community-Based Fisheries Management, Food Security and Financial Inclusion) and supports the use of data for decision-making, providing tools, training, and guidance to partners and Blue Ventures’ staff around the world. This team integrates expertise and deep practical experience with pragmatism and a desire to enable others to deliver lasting change, by distilling global best practices and knowledge into usable tools, appropriate training, and responsive guidance and support. The team is also responsible for delivering peer learning exchanges and knowledge-sharing events both online and face-to-face across the organisation, in addition to overseeing technical publications.

Our current income is a mix of grant funding, individual giving and community fundraising. The Head of Fundraising will build on our strengths and successes in these areas, whilst also developing new income streams – namely major donor income, corporate partnerships and fundraising appeals. They will be part of the Senior Leadership Team, working closely with the Board of Trustees and the CEO, leading the Fundraising Team to meet or exceed ambitious fundraising targets; building upon existing networks, creating new fundraising partnerships and overseeing effective relationships to increase the income of the charity.

Job Description
Fundraising Strategy

Successfully lead the implementation and monitoring of the fundraising strategy
-
Meet ambitious fundraising targets and create detailed plans to achieve them

Analyse market trends and donor behaviour to inform strategy and improve fundraising effectiveness

Lead the Fundraising Team in effective implementation of fundraising and marketing strategy to ensure effective results in income growth
Income Generation
-
Identify new opportunities for income generation across different areas and expand our portfolio of income streams including trusts and foundations, corporate, events and appeals

Grow both unrestricted and restricted income by effectively guiding the fundraising team with a focus on return on investment

Achieve your own personal income target focused on trusts and foundations, major donors and corporate relationships

Build corporate sponsorship pipeline and manage research, identifying partnership opportunities including business networking and corporate engagement

Building new and existing relationships to identify opportunities for income and growth
Brand and Communications

Communicate the vision, mission and values of the organisation as well as value proposition

Hold the brand guidelines and communication strategy, ensuring our communications demonstrate our impact

Ensure that the organisation can communicate demonstrable impact and is able to clearly articulate this to a range of stakeholders, including key donors

Undertake regular research and analysis to understand needs of target audiences and maintain the brand architecture and identity

Identify suitable PR opportunities to extend brand reach and recognition

Manage the fundraising team to ensure effective results and healthy wellbeing

Act as a spokesperson for the organisation, advocating for its mission and goals to external audiences

Person Specification
