Key duties:

· Leading and delivering engagement activities to identify and challenge issues within the Health & Social Care sector

· Development and leading self-advocacy groups and service user-led engagement

· Organise activities that support individuals who are socially isolated and provide isolation prevention support

· Recruit and support volunteers to support with engagement activities

Role Purpose

This role is focused on maximising comms-based engagement across the GDI Hub’s portfolio, supporting GDI Hub’s growing outreach across project-based deliverables and organisational comms channels (e.g. social media, websites, content generation).

The post holder will work closely across GDI Hub comms team to support delivery across the organisational portfolio – with a focus on key regular outputs, reactive queries and organisational communications. This role will involve both administrative tasks, and creative content generation, at an anticipated volume of 50% per area.

We are looking for someone with strong administrative, communications and digital skills, with a passion for building impact and reach. The candidate will need the experience to deliver public facing comms outputs, while also building personable relationships. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment is essential, as it a streamlined, can-do approach.

Role Responsibilities - Driving comms-based engagement across the GDI Hub’s portfolio

The successful applicant will work across GDI Hub’s Community Interest Company and Academic Research Centre liaising with all areas of the organisation to support the communications function as we look to translate project, programme and research outputs into public facing content for GDI Hub’s multi-million-pound global programmes, research and sector expertise.

Role Description

The role of Senior Alumni Engagement Coordinator is to develop and maintain effective and long-lasting relationships with SEO alumni, through volunteering initiatives that encourage engagement including-  creating volunteering opportunities, communications, events and stewardship. Stakeholder management is key to this role, and as such they need to be adaptable and have proven experience in managing stakeholders and multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication skills and a track record in developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders is fundamental to this role.  

SEO London Alumni Relations Programme
SEO has a long history with our first alumni cohort graduating from the class of 2001. Our role is the nurture relationships with our vast pool of alumni, through an exciting engagement programme which includes industry networking events, social gatherings, newsletters and communications, volunteering opportunities and access to our talent pool. We create avenues for our alumni to stay connected to SEO as well as the broader network and open doors for them in industry. Creating advocates who would recommend our programmes and support the next generation of under represented students to gain access to sectors which may not be immediately available to them.

Accountabilities

VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT

• Working with the Head of Alumni Relations create our volunteering programme, providing a tangible offer for Alumni to continue to give back as members of our community as well as develop personally.  
• Co- create and maintain a Volunteering database which will sit within the CRM and allow us to track, monitor and thank our volunteers accordingly. Helping to provide a better service to our alumni who have chosen to give their time. 
• Create innovative ways through robust communication channels to attract volunteers to our roles 
• Develop an engagement plan for our alumni, how do we steward our volunteers, do they receive a volunteering newsletter? How do we help them understand the impact they are having? 
• Maintain the CRM and update with all active roles and progress  
• Provide volunteering insights on a monthly basis to track and monitor the success of our recruitment offer

COMMUNICATIONS

• Alongside the Head of Alumni Relations you will be responsible for managing the creation and delivery of the Monthly newsletter, as an active participant in editorial meetings, you will be responsible for creating content and publishing the monthly newsletter 
• As Comms lead for Social media you will be responsible for posting frequently across Linked In and Instagram to build engagement with our audience on these platforms  
• You will provide monthly reporting on Newsletter open rates, the success of our comms in engaging our alumni as well as likes/ shares/ comments on social media EVENTS

EVENTS

• Supporting the Head of Alumni Relations in the delivery of monthly events, assisting with promotion as well as representing the team where possible at the events. 

DATA

• Ensuring the CRM is kept up to date with all alumni data, highlighting any issues or concerns and providing solutions where possible, adhering to GDPR at all times. 

CONNECT

• Our alumni engagement platform is specifically designed to engage our alumni and support them in connecting and expanding their personal network. Here they will find CPD opportunities, careers support and access to industry insights.  
• The successful candidate will support the Head of Alumni Relations with processing all new members onto the CRM  
• Lead on content for the platform to encourage engagement with our members

Required qualifications

• University degree (any discipline)  

• 2 - 5 years volunteer management/ Alumni Relations experience

About the role 

As we embark on a new ten-year strategy, this is a unique opportunity to lead the development of a radical and ambitious approach to partnerships with businesses, building on the successful partnerships we have with Lloyds Banking Group, Specsavers, Taylor Wimpey, Berkeley Homes and many more. 

This pivotal role will lead the development of a corporate and commercial engagement strategy across Crisis, growing and deepening our portfolio of corporate partners, broadening their support for our organisation and our cause, and inspiring them to act within their businesses. The role also involves leading the continued development of our fundraising and partnerships outside of London, creating a national support network to end homelessness. 

While the role is directly responsible for strategic and corporate partnerships, the post holder will lead across the charity, ensuring a joined-up approach across retail, service delivery (including Crisis at Christmas), brand partnerships, venture philanthropy, investments, and innovation. 

The role also involves membership of the Brand, Marketing & Fundraising senior team and the organisation’s Senior Leadership Group, where it plays an important organisation-wide leadership role. Additional investment has recently been made in the team, and senior leadership and the Board have committed to supporting its success.

We’re seeking someone with significant experience developing relationships with the corporate/commercial sector and a successful track record in organisations comparable in scale and complexity to Crisis. This is an exciting new role in the Fundraising Team. The Digital Fundraising and Engagement Manager will play a key role in enhancing the charity’s online fundraising presence, leveraging our digital channels to drive awareness of the impact, and the need to engage both existing and potential supporters in fundraising initiatives and putting the donor at the centre of what we do.

The Digital Fundraising and Engagement Manager will lead, and project manage online appeals and campaigns, sometimes alongside offline campaigns each year and will be key to improving the way the charity fundraises digitally through both fundraising and awareness.

You will help the team offer outstanding supporter care and a seamless user experience, engaging in the organisation to maximise lifetime value.

You will work closely with the Head of Fundraising, the Fundraising Team and the Communications Team.

Salary:  £30k - £35k FTE depending on experience

Contract: Permanent

Hours:                                Full-time in term time (part-time considered). Reduced hours in school                                          holidays (exact hours are negotiable)

Location/Travel:                Hybrid. Predominately home based with up to 8 days travel per month.                                    This will include one office day per week in the Bristol area.  Additional travel to member schools will be UK-wide and may include occasional overnight stays.          

IDPE operates a home-working business model and does not use a permanent office.  The team meets regularly across the Bristol area.

IDPE is a membership organisation, supporting fundraising and engagement professionals in schools.  We pride ourselves on having a thriving and engaged community and, as membership manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and expanding our community.  This is a relationship management role which requires an engaging, enthusiastic and passionate communicator able to build relationships at all levels, listen to the needs of members and work across the business to ensure these needs are being met.

Key Responsibilities:

Member engagement

• Together with the membership administrator, you will be a primary point of contact for members across the UK and internationally
• Member satisfaction is our highest priority, and you will be speaking to members daily, monitoring forum discussions, identifying key discussion themes at meetings and working with internal staff to ensure IDPE continues to meet the needs of its members  
• You’ll get to know members personally and will be able to understand their challenges and areas of interest, signposting them to relevant services and resources.  You will also identify potential gaps in our services and will work across the business to ensure we meet the needs of all members
• An analytical approach to member engagement is required as you will be responsible for the analysis and interpretation of engagement data, using this to develop an engagement strategy and encourage member participation

Member acquisition

• You will work with the CEO on developing and managing the member acquisition strategy and pipeline, researching prospective members, and managing the relationship through to membership
• You may be asked to represent IDPE at external events or conferences, identifying and connecting with prospective members
• You will work with marketing to communicate member benefits to prospective schools
• Together with the membership administrator you will manage the new member onboarding process, conducting welcome calls and initiating regular follow-ups to ensure new members are engaged and knowledgeable about our services

IDPE’s member acquisition strategy is based on relationships.  We do not cold call or hard sell but build on introductions and approaches from schools interested in joining.

Volunteer stewardship

• You will be responsible for building and managing a nationwide network of volunteers, encouraging their involvement in the member engagement and acquisition process
• IDPE hosts 12 regional meetings and specialist forums, across the UK each term.  You will be responsible for ensuring these happen, working with volunteers to create relevant and engaging agendas and chairing meetings when required
• You will manage the volunteer recruitment, onboarding and engagement process

Membership strategy

• Membership strategy is led by the CEO but, as membership engagement manager, you will be instrumental in influencing this and will lead its delivery. You will also support the CEO in a wide range of membership activities and projects
• You will be an ambassador for IDPE, representing the charity at internal and external events, chairing webinars and over time will become a subject matter expert on IDPE’s membership
• Your analytical approach will enable you to report on trends, behaviours and challenges, providing data to support your narrative.  You will also work closely with the Finance Director to set and monitor membership targets
• You will be responsible for writing membership communications and for ensuring the membership content on the website remains current
• You will be responsible for leading key membership projects

These tasks are not intended to be exhaustive, but they highlight the major tasks that the post-holder may be reasonably expected to undertake.

Are you IDPE’s next membership engagement manager?

This role would suit someone who loves talking to people and building relationships. IDPE's strength lies in the relationships it has with members and the successful candidate will be a natural people person who loves listening to member stories and facilitating the sharing of expertise and knowledge across the IDPE community. It would suit an individual from a sales/account management, alumni relations, fundraising or member services background.

Essential skills

• Experience in membership, relationship management, fundraising, alumni relations or customer service management with a proven track record of leading the delivery of a high-quality service
• Naturally inquisitive with a keeness to listen to members and find out more about their challenges. You will be someone who loves people and is able to listen, question and empathise with individuals at all levels 
• Strong administrative skills, able to set up and manage supporting processes
• Professional at all times, even when under pressure  
• Able to present information succinctly in oral and written form
• IT literate with experience of MS Office and using a database/CRM to record, review and extract data
• Excellent copywriting and proofreading skills
• Working within a small team will require a flexible approach to duties and a willingness to support others with a variety of tasks

Please note: all IDPE staff are expected to attend the IDPE Annual Conference.  This will involve a three day/two night stay each May/June.  The next conference will be on 11-13 May 2025 at Celtic Manor Resort in Newport.

This role is based in the UK on a remote homeworking contract or based in our London office. If the role is based in the London office, you will be required to attend the office for a minimum of 1 day per week with the option to work remotely for the remaining 3 days.

About the role

The role seeks to maximise Christian Aid's income by building relationships with trusts within the small trust mailing programme. The post holder will be directly responsible for securing approximately £400,000 in unrestricted, emergency and co-founding income though a small trusts and supporting with activity across the mid-value team (in which the role sits) including wider mid-value campaigns and stewardship activity.

Job Purpose:

To plan and deliver engagement and research for Healthwatch Wakefield’s core and project work. To understand the experiences and concerns of people using health and social care services in Wakefield and represent this feedback to service providers and commissioners. The role involves some analysing of data and intelligence to influence change and improve services. The postholder will focus on engaging with seldom-heard groups and individuals.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Engagement:

• Work closely with the Healthwatch Wakefield Engagement Officer to put together engagement plans for specific projects and core healthwatch work
• Conduct engagement in public spaces appropriate to project needs, such as community centres, health venues, and libraries.
• Manage a program of outreach sessions, identifying and arranging visits to organisations and community groups.

Research:

• Support the Healthwatch Wakefield Research and Engagement Project Officer to analyse data to produce a range of high-quality research outputs, including reports and presentations for various audiences.

General Information

Big Local Works (BLW) is a community-focused economic inclusion charity based in Bermondsey, South East London. We want to help create a thriving, inclusive local economy and community in which everyone can participate.

To make this happen, we maximise local people’s financial and economic wellbeing to reduce poverty and hardship, and give them support to find sustainable, active routes out of poverty, including through employment and enterprise.

We deliver our support in the community through three main services:

• Expert welfare and benefits advice and advocacy for local people experiencing poverty and hardship
• Employability Skills training and coaching to help people access ways of increasing their earned income
• Start-up and enterprise support for clients who wish to start trading on the local ‘Blue Market’

People Powered Regeneration

As well as continuing to offer an ever-wider range of individual support, we now have a strategic vision to create a ‘people-powered regeneration’ in an area already undergoing massive redevelopment by property developers.

In July 2019, a community campaign was successful in securing £2m funding from the GLA for the ‘Made in Bermondsey’ regeneration project centred on making key improvements to the local market place, the Blue Market in South Bermondsey.

Final works were completed in July 2022 and the market now has a first-class infrastructure for traders, local residents and visitors to use and enjoy the Blue Market place. The market also showcases a vision of a better future for the local area: a more prosperous, resilient and connected local community where people come together to trade, socialise, and celebrate across the diverse boundaries. We need to pay special attention to BAME, and recent migrant, communities who have begun to settle in Bermondsey after many years of exclusion.

Through our work, we seek to empower local people, encourage enterprise and community activity, and support the regeneration of an area that has long suffered from the effects of deprivation. Most recently, we have been successful in securing £200,000 from the Esmee Fairbairn Charity for strategy and community engagement support in the local area.

Our key goals are:

• Local people have more say over the changes in their local community.

This means that local people are actively involved in the development of place-based community assets, enterprises and projects. Local people will have more influence on local development and regeneration.

• ·A more diverse range of local people work together to improve their community.

This means community members from a wider range of backgrounds become active citizens. There are better relationships and increased collaboration between local stakeholders.

• People feel proud of their local area, and hopeful for the future.

This means stories and messages about the area are more inclusive and welcoming of diverse perspectives and communities. People are better informed, and know more about the opportunities and assets in their local community.

Community Organiser – Enterprise and Engagement

Over the past 2 years, we’ve undertaken in-depth research and community mapping to understand our area's needs, assets and lived experiences.

This role has three key responsibilities:

1. Outreach and engagement with local communities to help them build a stronger voice during regeneration

2. Supporting the development of new initiatives by local people, focused on microenterprise and wider community activity

3. Ensuring that a wider range of local people are involved and included in community activity, and their voices heard – especially those from marginalized communities

Key Tasks include

Role overview:

• Apply recognised community organising principles and practices to support the development of new initiatives in the local area.
• Broker collaborations and relationships between local groups, helping them develop a shared voice during regeneration.
• Identify and develop active citizens, and support them to develop and deliver their own individual and shared community Initiatives, including those focused on enterprise and wider community activity
• Facilitate groups and provide ‘servant leadership’ for community groups where appropriate, managing conflict effectively
• Develop effective and positive relationships with local stakeholders (including, for example, local councillors, community networks and leaders, and partner organisations), communicating assertively, and with diplomacy and tact.
• Organise Events: Plan and host events, both online and in person, to strengthen community ties and increase visibility.
• Work closely with the Business Improvement District, local charities and businesses and key strategic partners to help us achieve the overall aims of the People-Powered Regeneration

The Communications and Engagement Business Manager is there to provide project and business management support to enable the Communications and Engagement leadership team to focus on progressing the work of the business area and leading the wider team. The Business Manager is embedded in the team in order to fully understand priorities, goals and ambitions and help enable the leadership team to achieve them.

Key Resposibilities

• Build an in-depth knowledge of the Communication and Engagement’s leadership priorities in order to help support the business area’s work.   
• Build an in-depth knowledge of partnerships and stakeholders. 
• Project management and administration activities for Communication and Engagement’s projects, monitoring critical paths, milestones, taking on discrete areas of project work as appropriate and making decisions autonomously.

• Proactive diary management for the leadership of the Communication and Engagement Team in conjunction with other Business and Diary Managers where necessary.
