We’re looking for a youth worker to lead our weekly educational youth club programme in Bournemouth. Delivered in partnership with International Care Network (ICN), sessions take place on a weekly basis between 4.30-7.30pm throughout the year including school holidays.
The role is six hours a week (three hours on a Wednesday at Club Class plus three hours a week for planning/prep/meetings).
Main purpose of the role:
The youth worker will plan, deliver and facilitate educational and cultural activities to separated children (16-21 years old) in the context of an interactive youth club held weekly in partnership with the ICN in Bournemouth. Although you will prepare and deliver the materials, you will be supported by our youth support worker and ICN support worker during the actual Club Class session. Plus one support worker from ICN and one staff member from Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole local authority (BCP LA) – usually a personal advisor or social worker.
Main duties:
- Research, plan and devise educational activities/classes for the weekly sessions based on our Club Class framework
- Deliver and facilitate the weekly Club Class with the support of our youth support worker and the ICN support worker.
- Source outside facilitators on occasion (on a voluntary basis) to deliver specialist sessions
- Ensure sessions are young people-led and participants have an opportunity to input into future Club Class sessions using our participatory feedback mechanism
- Provide emotional support and guidance to the group (please note this is not a casework role), referring individual young people to their case worker where one-to-one support is required.
- Ensure the highest level of safeguarding for the young people attending with adherence to The Separated Child Foundation’s safeguarding policy
- Work with the Programme Manager to evaluate Club Class with participants to ensure the sessions are appropriate and relevant to their needs, and propose amendments and improvements to the Club Class framework as required
- Gather feedback (anonymised where necessary) from participants to populate social media, support funding bids and include in programme management reporting
- Provide line manager with regular feedback on the sessions and future plans during routine catch up calls and Programme Manager in-person visits
Person Specification:
- Experience in planning and delivering youth-led interactive group workshops using varied techniques and approaches
- Experience of working with or supporting young people, preferably separated asylum seeking and refugee children and/or young people for whom English is not first language
- Qualification in Youth Work or comparable subject
- Awareness of the needs of young people, preferably separated asylum seeking and refugee children
- Awareness of safeguarding and child protection principles and practice
- Self-confidence and the ability to approach and engage with young people
- Experience of working with different languages, cultures and/or social backgrounds
- A competence in use of basic IT skills such as use of PowerPoint
- Good organisation and planning skills, particularly related to youth work
- A commitment to the work and values of The Separated Child Foundation
- An understanding and commitment to equal opportunities in practice
- Effective communication skills, and a good level, and understanding of spoken and written English
- An understanding of the need to provide a quality service without compromising professional boundaries
- Effective team player, able to work collaboratively and quickly develop and maintain a strong relationship with the existing team
- An understanding of confidentiality, and an impartial and non-directive approach when working with clients

We are recruiting for a Legal Clinic Manager (maternity cover) who will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the Dickson Poon School of Law’s award-winning clinic, King’s Legal Clinic (‘the Clinic’). The Clinic aims to improve access to justice and educate King’s students by providing free legal advice to members of the public through its Legal Advice Clinic; and working with local and international organisations on research and justice projects.

About the role
The Legal Clinic Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of King’s Legal Clinic (‘the Clinic’), under the direction of the Clinic Director and Assistant Director. The Legal Clinic Manager has line management responsibility for the Legal Clinic Coordinator and Legal Clinic Administrator.
Daily Clinic activities include supervising students in the processing of potential client enquires across the in-house Legal clinics; suitability and conflict checks with law firm partners; allocation of cases to student advisors and internal and external supervisors; delivery and organisation of the Clinic’s research and justice projects and training program.
The Legal Clinic Manager is responsible for ensuring the Clinic works smoothly, efficiently and is a positive learning environment and workplace for students and Clinic staff.
The role holder must have excellent organisational, IT, project management, and communication skills. An ability to relate to and work with a diverse range of students, partner organisations and clients. The position is likely to be of particular interest to a well-organised, proactive individual with experience of working in and managing in a legal environment and/or Higher Education with good academic qualifications. A background in legal practice and/or process improvement work, and demonstrable interest in access to justice is desirable.
The role is a full-time post (1FTE) offered on a 12 months fixed term contract, starting in the first week of July 2025 with the possibility of extension. About the organisation:
The Grenfell 'Education Hub' will open later this year to serve those most affected by the Grenfell Tower tragedy. The hub will provide educational support to children and young people, their families, and local schools.
A consultation process in 2023 and 2024 about the needs of the community and the bereaved and survivors led to proposals for an educational ‘hub’. This will comprise a wide range of professionals including four specialist teachers, an Educational Psychologist, a Speech and Language Therapist, an Occupational Therapist, a Careers Coordinator, and a Family Support Worker. The Deputy Director, Management Accounts and Reporting, is part of the FP&A function management team, and will provide leadership to transform King’s College London’s financial reporting outputs and accessibility, ensuring it meets the needs of the university’s strategic and operational priorities. Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, this role will lead a team to deliver timely, accurate, and insightful management accounting and reporting, underpinned by robust governance, innovative tools, and efficient processes. This will include the use of data integration tools such as Power BI. The Deputy Director will play a central role in redesigning and delivering on King’s financial management reporting framework, leveraging systems such as Power BI and Agresso, and enhancing the reporting structures to align with the scale and nature of the university’s activities (including review/adjustments to the Chart of Management Accounts). The role will ensure that reporting outputs provide actionable insights, drive compliance with financial policies, and empower budget holders with accessible, quality-assured data, thereby also enabling the business partnering function to refocus. Key responsibilities
Strategic Reporting Framework
- Lead the design, implementation and operation of a new management reporting framework that aligns with King’s strategic and operational goals.
- Lead the development of a suite of consistent, quality-assured monthly and quarterly reporting products, accessible to stakeholders including through user friendly interfaces such as Power BI.
- Collaborate with Finance Business Partners to ensure reporting outputs align with the needs of faculties, directorates, and other key areas of activity. Process and Efficiency Improvements
- Identify and take forward opportunities for automation and process efficiency in month-end accounting, including goods received not invoiced (GRNI) recognition and other ledger adjustments.
- Lead the implementation of a refreshed Chart of Accounts, ensuring the income and expenditure (I&E) management reporting structure reflects the university’s key activities.
- Review the utilisation of financial systems, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and value in management reporting activities.
- Develop a month-end timetable, working with relevant teams to enhance the reporting cycle, facilitating meaningful, risk-based financial reviews. Governance and Compliance
- Monitor financial management activities across faculties and directorates, ensuring consistency and adherence to standards.

About the project
The proposed service Kineara aims to provide is a Community-Based Housing Advice and Support Service for lone parents living in TA (Temporary Accommodation) and to provide a prevented service that advice and support lone parents living in PRS and social rented accommodation, where their tenancies is insecure.
This service will address urgent housing concerns, provide essential advice, and offer tailored, intensive support for those with complex needs. The project will focus on delivering maximum reach through our outreach while maintaining smaller 1:1 caseload for high-needs cases.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced, motivated and compassionate community -based housing advice and support worker. This role involves conducting community drop- in surgeries which will be delivered across Lambeth Schools, Children’s Centres, Community Groups, GP practices and
Housing Advice Surgeries offering face-to-face housing advice, legal support (where necessary), and signposting to additional service.
You will have experience of working with families and individuals with complex needs. You will be an enthusiastic person who has empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach to working with clients and who thrives when working independently with a passion to support change. Job Description
Strategy and planning
- Work with the Head of Advice to develop and deliver an operational plan to support delivery of the strategic priorities, which is measured, monitored and reported up to the CEO and Board of Trustees.
- Co-ordinate activities, procedures and systems so as to promote the common policies and practices with the appropriate advice services.
- Ensure that the strategy is accessible to and understood by all staff and volunteers and they know the role they play in achieving our goals.
Risk management and compliance
- Regularly review the risks to which the charity is exposed to relating to Advice Services and provide assurance that systems or procedures are in effective operation to manage those risks.
- Ensure the use of systems in place to meet the requirements of all applicable regulatory bodies relating to the Advice Service Delivery.
- Working with the rest of the management team ensures that good data protection practices are embedded in our day-to-day operations.

People management and development

Operational performance management
- Maintain, develop and monitor effective and relevant performance indicators and management processes, with particular emphasis on the application of customer insight data and feedback on complaints.
- In line with the Advice Quality Standard, work with the Head of Advice and the other Advice Quality and Operations Managers to ensure that staff and volunteers have adequate supervision and that advisers have access to support at all times when delivering advice to clients.
- Ensuring quality - actively supporting the quality of advice by guiding the team to information sources, checking that all aspects of a client's situation have been considered, checking that follow up work is progressed, and that research and campaigns issues are identified.
- Monitor the quality of advice given to clients to ensure that standards meet Citizens Advice requirements. Completing Case Checking, QAA Audits and independent file reviews (IFR) to ensure quality assurance at a whole service level. Using the insights to further develop the services to clients and skills of advisers.
- Maintain and develop standards of service delivery.
- Take part in internal consistency exercises at least quarterly.
