Job description

This is a part-time (2.5 days a week), hybrid role for 6 months, but will be reviewed after the first 6 months.  As Finance Manager your role will be to lead on financial operations. This is a strategic and hands-on role, ensuring financial integrity, efficient back-office functions, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

About You:

The successful applicant must be efficient, well-organised and able to work independently and with initiative when needed. They must be ambitious, have a positive attitude to thinking about things differently and work self-managed teams. This position would suit someone who is confident in their own abilities, proactive and has excellent communication skills. We are looking for someone who shares our values and can bring strong financial acumen into the in-house team.

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant financial management experience. 
• Strong leadership skills, with experience managing teams and working with senior stakeholders.
• Knowledge of charity finance, SORP regulations, and working with auditors.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Passionate about supporting money education and making a positive impact.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a well-established Non-for-Profit organisation, driving financial sustainability and operational excellence.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced grants fundraiser to join CSW to use their skills to help people who are harassed and persecuted for their beliefs. You will play a key role in generating sustainable income for our work through securing grants from charitable trusts, foundations and institutions.

• Research and identify new sources of funding to grow pipeline of prospective trusts, foundations and institutions
• Write high-quality, compelling applications and bespoke funding proposals to secure grants

The Opportunity  

WorkWell is a government funded programme that offers an early-intervention work and health support and assessment service. This provides holistic support to overcome health-related barriers to employment, and a single, joined-up gateway to other support services. 

We work in partnership with mental and/or physical health clinical teams, GP practices and other referral partners who refer clients who are currently in employment but are experiencing difficulties in the workplace and require assistance to help them return to work, remain in work or find new employment. You will help form part of a UK-wide team of remote Helpline Advisors operating the only modern slavery specific helpline in the UK. Answering incoming calls, making callouts, sending emails, drafting referrals to external agencies, and maintaining accurate data will be your day-to-day responsibilities. You will contribute to a service that as well as providing information, advice and guidance to our service users, also helps create one of the largest non-governmental bodies of data on the scale of modern slavery in the UK which is used to influence strategy and policy at local, national and international levels. You will provide trauma informed and person-centered information, advice, and guidance to a variety of caller types, including people in and out of exploitation, professionals, members of the public, and businesses.

Job Title: Financial Accounts Assistant

Salary: £27,000 per annum

Hours: 37 per week

Location: Northampton office

Contract: Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the day-to-day accounting analysis and activities
• Assist the Treasury team with the preparation and distribution of grant payments.
• Provide assistance to the Accounts Payable as needed.
• Process purchase orders on behalf of the Finance team.
• Undertake the monthly income import process into the finance system.
• Set up and manage all fixed assets within the finance system.
• Assist in month end processes, including prepayment schedules and financial data analysis.
• Investigate and resolve queries arising from month end account reviews.
• Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Raise manual income invoices as required and ensure appropriate coding and reconciliation.
• Perform credit control duties to ensure prompt invoice payments.
• Follow up on queries related to quarter-end cash book reviews.

About You:

• A flexible and proactive approach to problem solving and multitasking.
• Qualified/Part Qualified AAT or similar or qualified by experience
• Proficient in using Excel including V lookup, pivots, etc.
• Experience in high-quality data entry and financial processing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders and non-finance personnel
• Ability to effectively prioritise varied workload in a changing environment
• Strong organisational skills, accuracy, and keen attention to detail.
