About You:

This is an exciting opportunity to lead our South West team as the Head of Region, to maximise the impact of our funding and lead the strategic direction and management of our regional portfolio.You will be responsible for delivering our strategy It Starts with Community and the ambitions of our England Portfolio within the region.

Our South West region spans a diverse and complex geography, taking in coastal shores, eight cities and two national parks, with a complexity of deprivation in seemingly wealthy areas.

This is the first Finance Manager role in the organisation and the role will involve using your knowledge and experience to develop the way that ODAC works. In recent years, financial management has been led by the Chief Executive, with a freelance book-keeping contractor and a 0.5 days/ week Finance Administrator, and we have an experienced Finance Lead on the Board of Trustees.

The Finance Manager will lead on bookkeeping, financial management, and providing support and advice to budget holders. Title of post: Regional Port Chaplain Northern Ireland

MAIN PURPOSES OF THE JOB

The Stella Maris (SM) Regional Port Chaplain will promote the vision, mission and values of SM in caring for all seafarers and fishers by helping to meet their pastoral and spiritual needs. They will recruit, train and support SM staff and volunteers for the port and will maintain good relations with local parishes and the local diocese. They will work ecumenically with members of other Christian maritime societies with whom SM works.

1. To meet the welfare and pastoral needs of all seafarers and fishers equally according to their needs and wishes. To be an advocate on their behalf, upholding the dignity of each. Through regular and frequent ship visiting, to understand the working and living conditions of the seafarer and fishers and be able to work for justice and for the well-being of all crew members without distinction.

2. To address the communication needs of seafarers, providing transport, news, and access to telephone and internet facilities.

3. To address the welfare needs of seafarers and fishers, including support with money transfers, hospitality, and crisis support, e.g. abandonment, injury and death, detainment, bereavement, advice and access to medical care.

4. To meet the ecclesial, spiritual, and sacramental needs of Catholic seafarers and fishers; to facilitate the religious and spiritual needs of others and to be a pastor to all, sharing one’s faith as appropriate.

5. To participate in SM conferences, ongoing formation and other professional courses as required.

6. To supporting seafarer centre functioning.

7. To recruit, train, develop and retain a SM ship visiting volunteering team.

8.  To represent SM on the local Port Welfare Committee(s), to include attending such meetings and submitting reports. 

9. To liaise and maintain good working relationships with all port stakeholders, including the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, the International Transport Workers’ Federation, port health, harbour masters, dockers, security, and shipping agents.

Lepra is dedicated to addressing leprosy and lymphatic filariasis (LF) and their consequences through direct support, advocacy, and the promotion of inclusive communities. We work in Bangladesh and in India, through our sister organisation, LEPRA Society. We work in partnership with people affected by leprosy and LF to improve detection, ensure access to treatment and care, and promote inclusion and wellbeing. We have just finalised our new Global Strategy for 2024-30, which will guide us in our efforts to accelerate progress towards global targets for leprosy and LF, and towards our vision of a world free from leprosy and LF.

Job Context

Our new Global Strategy introduces some new approaches and priorities to our work, including: our first ever global Theory of Change (ToC), the most detailed Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) approach ever, and a sub-strategy dedicated to research, innovation and technology: the Global Research, Innovation and Technology Strategy (GRITS). The Strategic Campaigns Manager will lead the development and execution of impactful campaigns to elevate Ramblers' profile, political influence, and engagement across England, Scotland, and Wales. Working closely with Directors, Policy & Public Affairs Managers, and the Communications team, this role is pivotal in advancing our advocacy goals and expanding supporter engagement.

The role will position Ramblers as the foremost authority on walking and access and a respected political influencer.

This position plays a crucial role in influencing public perception and achieving business outcomes through strategic communication and marketing efforts. The role holder will focus on developing campaigns that unite issues that affect the whole of GB turning political advocacy into engaging and powerful campaigns. They will also support the broader communications team to implement locally focused advocacy and public affairs campaigns for England, Scotland or Wales where appropriate

Key responsibilities

Campaign strategy development:

• Design and execute integrated strategic campaigns that support our shared public affairs objectives across England, Scotland & Wales to deliver meaningful impact against a common change agenda
• In collaboration with colleagues, identify key issues and opportunities for advocacy, fundraising, and membership growth including where appropriate commissioning research that will create campaign engagement by addressing evidence gaps and opportunities

Campaign management:

• Work closely with the broader communications team to develop strategically aligned messaging and campaign assets and to deliver these across owned, earned and (where relevant) paid channels.
• Lead on the creation of compelling campaign assets (e.g. reports, polls, toolkits) to ensure our message reaches a wide audience.
• Project manage campaigns including managing timeframes and budgets, mobilising other teams, seeking collaboration opportunities with external partners, setting and measuring KPIs

Cross-functional collaboration:

• Work closely with membership, and fundraising teams to integrate campaign efforts. Support Policy & Public Affairs colleagues to develop impactful policy briefings, position papers and fact sheets. 
• Support the broader communications team to implement strategically aligned locally focused advocacy and public affairs campaigns for England, Scotland or Wales where appropriate
• Collaborate with volunteers, supporters, and stakeholders to amplify campaign reach and impact.

Data analysis and reporting:

• Monitor and analyse campaign performance using key metrics and data insights.
• Prepare detailed reports and recommendations to inform future campaigns and strategies.

Advocacy and public relations:

• As required and agreed with colleagues, represent the Ramblers in public forums, media, and with key stakeholders to advance campaign objectives.

Budget management:

• Manage campaign budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and adherence to financial guidelines.
• Track expenditures and report on budgetary outcomes.

Innovation and improvement:

• Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance campaign effectiveness.
• Implement feedback and lessons learned to refine and improve campaign strategies.

Other

• Undertake such other duties as may be required of the post.
• Engage and proactively develop excellent working relationships across the organisation.

We are now seeking a Communications and Campaigns Manager who will be a creative thinker able to Think Big and Act Wild whilst managing the timely and effective delivery of communications campaigns, projects and events, increasing our advocacy and fundraising impact.

The post holder will be a strong planner, organiser, pro-active team player and hands-on campaigner. You’ll be a key member of the Communications and Engagement team and use your strong collaborative skills to work effectively with our Catalyse, Influence and Fundraising teams to create powerful, transformative communications and campaigns.

You will be results driven and enjoy managing multiple communications projects across different channels in order to increase engagement levels with different stakeholders. Line Manager: Director of Communications and Engagement

Line Management Responsibilities: No line management. The post holder will have responsibility for maintaining management of freelancers, agencies and partners.

Your responsibilities will include:

Communications campaign development and management:

• Develop and project manage a programme of integrated communication campaigns that grab attention and encourage action across rewilding practice, policy and fundraising.
• Work closely with the Communications and Engagement team to develop aligned messaging and campaign assets and to deliver these across owned, earned and paid channels.
• Lead on the creation of compelling campaign assets and content (e.g. polls, petitions, online actions and campaign toolkits).
• Manage campaign timeframes and budgets seeking a good, quantifiable return on investment.
• Gather and present audience insight to inform our campaigns and ensure our campaigning work is evidence led.
• Set and measure campaign KPIs, conduct campaign de-briefs and write campaign evaluations, encourage a culture of testing and learning and growing our campaigning approach.
•  Seek relevant external collaboration opportunities with allies and partners to amplify our campaigns.
• Where appropriate, commission and manage the relationship with external creative, campaigning and advertising agencies.

Communications projects and events management:

• Organise, plan and deliver our involvement at online and in person events that will help to encourage action across rewilding practice, policy and fundraising (e.g. exhibition stands at party political conferences or corporate fundraising events).
• Design, deliver and project manage cross-organisational communication activities which will raise the profile of Rewilding Britain (e.g.World Rewilding Day, anniversary events).
• Support the Catalyse, Influence and Fundraising teams with the communication requirements for events (e.g. Rewilding Network conferences, fundraising dinners, panel debates, report launches).

Cross-functional collaboration:

• Work closely with the Catalyse, Influence and Fundraising teams to integrate campaign efforts and identify the relevant campaign issues, priorities and opportunities for influencing policy, fundraising and Network membership growth.
• Support the broader Communications and Engagement team to implement strategically aligned locally focused communications activities, projects and events for England, Scotland or Wales.
• Collaborate with freelancers, consultants, agencies, volunteers, supporters, and stakeholders to amplify our communications and campaigns reach and impact.
• Represent Rewilding Britain alongside other team members at events, exhibitions, workshops, conferences, rallies and more to advance our communication and campaign objectives.

Terms and conditions and staff benefits

The role is a full-time, 5-day-week (35 hours) position.

The salary is £38,000 - £43,000 per annum depending upon experience.

There will be some freedom for the person to determine their own working arrangements each week, within limitations, providing the work is delivered.

Rewilding Britain employees benefit from 25 days annual leave per year (pro rata for part time roles), rising to 30 days over 5 years. A generous employer-matched pension scheme is also available.
