Main purpose of role
We are looking for a professional with at least 5 years’ experience in membership management, stakeholder engagement and events to lead our outreach and engagement activities for the Parkinson’s community across Europe.

Key tasks

• Strategic membership activities including:
  • Management of the Parkinson’s Europe Membership Steering Group
  • Leading Parkinson’s Europe membership recruitment and diversification
  • Reviewing and expanding Parkinson’s Europe membership benefits
  • Leading the development, delivery and analysis of the biannual Parkinson’s Europe members survey
  • Supporting the Parkinson’s Europe Member Liaison Lead with membership communications
• Outreach and engagement activities including:
  • Partnership support activities with relevant NGOs and institutions – for example, European Federation of Neurological Associations (EFNA), The European Patients’ Academy on Therapeutic Innovation (EUPATI), and the European Patients’ Forum (EPF)
  • Engagement with other associations related to Parkinson’s that do not currently fit in our formal membership
  • Supporting the second phase development of Parkinson’s Europe’s newly launched Engagement Network
• Development of a new knowledge building programme for Parkinson’s Europe Member Organisations (which is a key feature of our new strategy for 2025 and beyond). This will involve:
  • Identification of members’ needs and priorities
  • Planning and delivering a structured programme of webinars, workshops and resources to support the identified needs and priorities. This will include:
    • Identifying and building relationships with speakers and facilitators with the help of the Parkinson’s Europe team
    • Identifying existing resources to help deliver the programme
    • Leading the development of new resources and tools for members
• Event management
  • Lead the development and delivery of a biannual Parkinson’s European Forum
  • Plan and lead the twice-yearly members meeting
  • Support the Director General and Board Secretary at the AGM as required
• Supervision of the Member Liaison Lead

About the NEL VCSE Collaborative

The North East London (NEL) Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Collaborative works closely with the ICB to work together strategically by shaping, improving and delivering services and contributes to the system design and organisational development of the ICB, ensuring Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) contribution.

Governance Manager

CAFOD, one of the 15 member agencies that make up the Disasters Emergency Committee, is the official aid agency of the Catholic Church in England and Wales and stands alongside vulnerable communities across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.

CAFOD is seeking a Governance Manager to temporarily support our Leadership & Governance team. Reporting directly to CAFOD’s Director and managing the Leadership & Governance Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring effective governance, strategic leadership, and strong Trustee relations during this interim period. This is a part-time position requiring two days of commitment per week for approximately six months.

Key Responsibilities

During the period of cover, some of the key responsibilities include:  

Governance & Strategic Leadership 

• Providing oversight of CAFOD’s Governance work & assisting in the further development and funding of CAFOD’s governance. 

• Identify emerging trends in governance and ensure that learning is reflected in CAFOD’s work and proposals. 

• Working with the relative department heads to advise the Leadership Team on the likely impact of new initiatives on CAFOD’s current strategy.

• Ensuring CAFOD’s work is in line with Charity Commission requirements and ethical standards are maintained.

 Engagement & Reporting  

• With the Leadership and Governance Officer and L&G Assistant, to support the Director of CAFOD in managing the relationship between the Board of Trustees and Leadership Team.

• Providing strategic guidance and support to CAFOD’s Trustees and Leadership Team

We are excited to be recruiting a Philanthropy Manager to join our Fundraising Team. This is a new role which will be instrumental in setting us up well to grow income from major donors over the coming years. We are looking for an experienced major donor fundraiser, who can bring their skills and expertise to take this strand of fundraising to the next level. • Submitting the accounts to the Financial Conduct Authority
• Organising Board away days and training, alongside other Trustees and the Chair
• Overseeing Human Resources, alongside our interim Managing Director, Trustees and the Chair
• Line management of bookkeeper and other part-time admin roles Liaising with our lenders regarding our long-term loan
• Leading the process of applying for Registered Provider of Social Housing status: research and scoping, setting up and engaging with a working group and appointing consultants, to work towards making an application in 2025.
• Liaising with our estate management company (CDS) to ensure that service charge and hot water accounts are supplied promptly and accurately

The Community Leader will oversee the management of our community services and activities, ensuring the programmes align with local needs, our strategic goals and available funding. 

Key Responsibilities

·Design and implement a comprehensive activities programme that addresses the social, educational and wellbeing f the community.

·Manage the day-to-day operations of our programme, ensuring the seamless delivery of activities and collaborating with all stakeholders to provide high-quality, holistic services.

·Ensure effective project management practices are consistently applied in your work, fostering efficiency and accountability.

·Oversee the monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of all community activities, ensuring they align with funding requirements and high-quality reports are provided to funders and partners.

 ·Work closely with colleagues and key stakeholders to identify funding opportunities, and prepare and submit high-quality funding applications.

·Build trust and strong relationships with local residents by organising co-production, engagement and consultation opportunities that involve people with lived experience.

·Collaborate with community members to develop and support campaigns that drive change for specific resident groups and continuously improve our referral processes to provide comprehensive support.

·Work with partners, community-led groups, and representatives across various sectors and organisations to enhance support for community members.

·Develop engaging marketing materials, including leaflets, website content, and social media posts, to ensure our services are widely advertised and accessible to a diverse audience.

·Oversee all administrative aspects of project activities and coordinate volunteer and staff schedules.

Key information

Salary: £37,000 – 39,000 per annum (pro rata £31,700 to £33,400)

Hours: 30 hours per week (over a minimum of 4 days)

Contract: Fixed term contract until 30 April 2026 (extension subject to funding)

Holidays: 25 days per year plus bank holidays (pro rata)

Report to: Executive Director

Line-manage:  1 Community Development Coordinator and 3 Community Organisers
