About us
Who we are
Founded in 1955, Open Doors works in over 60 countries, supplying Bibles, training church leaders, providing practical support and emergency relief, giving advocacy support and trauma care, and supporting Christians who suffer for their faith.
We have development bases in over 23 countries who raise awareness and support for the work that we do. Some of our largest bases are in Germany, the USA and the UK.
The ODI team works to connect the development bases (who raise support in prayer giving and action) to the field where Christians are helped and supported.
Our ODI team includes: marketing and campaigns, advocacy, communications, research, HR, IT, administration and project management, strategy and operations, and specialist speakers. We are a diverse bunch of people who each work remotely within global teams, but we also get together as a UK team (or a team of UK workers to be precise) to support and encourage one another and to have fun. Many of us work remotely but we regularly meet in person to connect and to 'get our tanks refuelled'. This can be in the Witney Head Office or elsewhere.
We have some very experienced and talented people in our team - many who have worked previously in senior roles in the private sector, although many have a lot of experience in the charity sector too. We're all passionate about doing and being all that we can for those we serve, and we're always excited when new brilliant people join our team. However brilliant we are though, we stay grounded in the knowledge that it's God who makes the difference to the work that we seek to do.
