About us
Who we are
We are CAFOD!
CAFOD is the official aid agency of the Catholic Church in England and Wales, and part of Caritas International. We believe that everyone in the world has the right to live their lives with dignity. That’s why we work through the Catholic Church and other local organisations in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East to fight poverty and injustice.
Guided by the values of compassion, solidarity and hope, we are rooted in the Catholic community. Together, with the help of our volunteers, we put our faith into action to help people living in extreme poverty to reach their full potential, regardless of religion or culture.
Nobody wants to live on handouts, so we equip people with the skills they need to support their families and give something back to their communities. During conflict and disasters, our local organisations act fast to provide food, water and shelter to people who have lost everything, and then help people to rebuild their lives and prepare for future disasters. When international bodies and governments make decisions that damage poor communities, we speak out.
Come and join us and help make a real difference in the lives of the world’s poorest communities.
CAFOD is an equal opportunities employer. Recruitment and selection procedures reflect our commitment to child protection.
