Overview
We are seeking a proactive and innovative Digital Champion Volunteer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in enhancing our online presence and driving our digital marketing initiatives. Could you make a difference as a volunteer Digital Champion?
We are looking for people with a good understanding of how to use computers,
smart phones and tablets to give peer support to people who are new to these
devices. You will help them to do things like:
• use Google
• set up an email account
• look for reliable health information online
• connect with friends and family using video calling
• use MS word to write a CV
• access job search websites
You need a good level of basic computer skills, but you don't have to be an IT
genius. Much more important is having enthusiasm and patience to spend some
time helping others to get online.

We’re looking for volunteers to help out in-person at Riverside Studios. Each shift will be varied and we’re looking for volunteers to:
- Take photos and videos for social media, alongside the official photographer
- Create high-quality content for IJAD’s social media channels
- Post content on IJAD’s social media channels throughout the festival
- Assist the festival artists
- Greet attendees and answer queries
- Direct attendees around the venue
- Help with setting up and packing down
What will be required from you?
Our main goal is to ensure a positive experience for all volunteers and we can be flexible with timings, however we would particularly love to hear from those who are able to commit to volunteering for multiple (3-4hr) shifts over the course of the festival.
You will be required to attend an online briefing in advance of the festival, as well as in-person induction at Riverside Studios (w/c 2 June).

Meetings:

About Access Academia
Access Academia is the charitable umbrella which was created out of the creation of the student-led publication, the Journal of Intersectional Social Justice. When Journal of Intersectional Social Justice (JISJ) was created, there were not any expectations for the project to be any more than that: a student-led academic publication. However, as it rolled on, attention for the project widened and it began to cover other topics and get involved in other realms of knowledge sharing, activism, and content creation. The creation of the seminal Access Series on the Intersections blog springboarded the idea for the JISJ to turn into something much more than a simple academic publication. Now as we have restructured the JISJ into Access Academia, we are finalising our official registration as a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) in the UK.
Our core purpose is to Make Academia More Accessible. We plan to accomplish this by many different avenues, as obviously it is a very wide-ranging goal! The main ways we plan to do this are through encouraging Open Access academia and knowledge sharing through the Access Series, expanding the themes covered on Intersections with additions such as Mental Health Mondays and Colonialism in Subject, creating accessible content across our social media platforms which encourages truthful and accurate knowledge sharing and activism, running research events to encourage students to publish and interact with academia, covering inside stories of academia, running student engagement programmes to try and make academia less of an Ivory Tower, and much more!

Volunteers will be supporting people remotely, in their own homes and in the community within Nottingham and Nottinghamshire and ideally, we ask all applicants to provide a minimum of 1 hour volunteering a week.
The companion service volunteer can choose to be:
• A companion telephone/video caller
• A companion within the person’s home
• A companion outside the person’s home
• Or a combination of all three.
Examples of the type of support the service offers include:
• Telephone / video calls for an older person/s on a regular basis at a mutually agreed time for a friendly chat.
• Supporting an older person/s hobbies and interests or simply chatting with them in their own home on a regular basis.
• Supporting with digital access & building confidence skills & motivation to access the opportunities of the internet.
• Supporting the person outside of their home e.g., by accompanying them on a walk, to the shops, to a café, garden centre, theatre or cinema or other social activities / community groups.
• Where appropriate, supporting the older person to access other services through information and signposting or referring to the Companion Service Coordinator for support.
We are looking for the following skills/interests:
• Individuals with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of older people who are committed to volunteering on a regular basis.
• Commitment to complete our Volunteer Report Form accurately and regularly.
• Ability to travel for visits in the local community either by car or public transport for those volunteers who choose to participate in this type of activity.
• Digital literacy for those volunteers who choose to participate in this type of activity.
Please do note, however, that at the moment we are not looking for Volunteer Telephone Companions.

Across Nigeria and beyond, women and girls continue to face systemic barriers that limit their access to leadership, innovation, and economic opportunities. Despite making up nearly half of the population, women are underrepresented in decision-making spaces, with only 6.4% of CEOs in Nigeria being female and less than 10% of girls actively encouraged to pursue problem-solving or entrepreneurial ventures. Role Description: As the Fundraising & Partnerships Lead, you will:
Develop and execute SheCanDo’s fundraising and partnership strategy.
Research and apply for grants, sponsorships, and funding opportunities.
Build and maintain strong relationships with potential donors, sponsors, and partners.
Write compelling fundraising proposals and sponsorship pitches.
Lead and coordinate fundraising campaigns and donor engagement.
Collaborate closely with the Executive Assistant, Founder, and program teams.
Qualifications & Skills: Prior experience in fundraising, donor relations, grant writing, or partnerships. Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills. Strong networking and relationship-building ability. Leadership mindset and team coordination skills.

We are looking for a passionate and creative volunteer to help us plan, update and deliver our social media strategy, specifically focusing on Instagram, X and LinkedIn. The role involves contributing to our social media strategy and developing content that tells the story of Salusbury World’s mission, projects and impact in an engaging way.
Skills and Experience
