About us
Who we are
Clarion Futures focuses on funding community projects and helping people find jobs and training, develop digital skills, and manage their money.
Today our charitable foundation Clarion Futures, runs one of the country’s biggest social investment programmes. This work generates more than £100m every year in social value. This is the value given to the positive benefits for people and communities. For instance, a social value can be put against improved wellbeing and better life chances through having a home and a job.
Every year Clarion Futures works with charities, community groups and other organisations to help thousands of our residents to overcome challenges and fulfil their potential. This includes:
- Helping them develop skills they need to find work
- Supporting them to manage their money
- Helping them to get online and develop digital skills
- Improving their neighbourhoods
Our culture and values
Our charitable foundation Clarion Futures supports communities and helps individuals to achieve their potential. This social investment results in improved outcomes we’re able to quantify as social value.
This is the value placed on metrics such as improved wellbeing and increased life chances through having a home and a job.
We calculate our social value using methodology developed by The Housing Associations’ Charitable Trust and Simetrica-Jacobs - experts in social value analysis, research and econometrics.
We are also committed as part of our work to do everything we can in our power to eliminate fuel poverty for our residents. We will do this through a mixture of our work through Clarion Futures to deliver money guidance and energy efficiency advice, but primarily through our energy efficiency retrofit programme.
Equality, diversity and inclusion policy
Clarion Housing Group promotes Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
We train our managers in unconscious bias as part of our commitment to ensuring equality of opportunity for all. This is on top of the training we provide to our people on diversity and inclusion.
We’ve several staff networks that provide support for colleagues. These include networks for:
- colleagues from ethnic minorities
- those with disabilities or long-term health conditions
- LGBTQIA+ colleagues
- people facing gender-related issues.
More than one in five of our staff are from ethnic minorities, reflecting the diversity of the communities we serve. Women make up 55% of our workforce, and our Group Executive Team has equal numbers of men and women.
Our Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Group monitors our progress against agreed targets. It also reviews new initiatives.
