In addition to providing operational leadership and management of your teams, your role will focus on growing revenue through our VALUES Learning Disabilities Service, VAL Spaces – Building Tenancy, Meeting Rooms, Conferencing Sales and IT Service ensuring ongoing sustainability, growth and success of VAL. You will develop and implement a business development strategy for VAL that supports growth in direct services, aligned to our Vision and strategic plan objectives.
With at least two years’ established senior management experience in development, implementation and delivery of strategic priorities you will need to demonstrate sound understanding of the challenges that the VCSE organisations face. A strategic and analytical thinker with financial acumen you will need to show the ability to turn ideas into action.
With excellent presentation and influencing experience, your communication style will be inclusive and self-assured. You will need to demonstrate resilience, and flexibility, together with drive and determination to play a key role in our future. You will be able to talk authoritatively about inclusive involvement, barriers which lead to discrimination and exclusion and be able to implement working practices that support equity and diversity. Knowledge of the voluntary sector and/or Learning Disabilities and/or Social Care is highly desirable.
You’ll need to be highly effective in building meaningful relationships with a wide demographic of stakeholders and ideally have demonstrable experience in business development and tenders, bid writing and building corporate partnerships.

Whizz Kidz is transforming. It is an exciting time to join us as a Partnerships Development Executive as we embark on an ambitious strategy for the next three years. The Fundraising and communications team at Whizz Kidz raises around 95% of the income to fund the work of the charity and supports the generation of funds through on and offline publications, develops our social media and website presence and leads on PR activities.
The person
As the Whizz Kidz Partnership Development Executive you will be encouraged to get into the heart of the organisation, understand our ambitions and use your passion, knowledge and skills to help identify and deliver new corporate partnerships. You will understand how to identify the right opportunities for Whizz Kidz and know what it takes to win and manage different types of partnerships. You will have solid written and verbal communication skills, be comfortable presenting and willing to develop and learn new skills. You will be keen to play your part in helping the fundraising and marcomms team maintain a positive culture, increase brand awareness and unlock vital income to create positive change for young wheelchair users and their families.
Key accountabilities
• Support the Partnerships team in generating long term sustainable income (unrestricted/restricted) from the corporate sector by developing income first multi-year partnerships
• Create and deliver engaging and targeted new business proposals, pitches and presentations as well as creating compelling and persuasive cases for support to help secure and establish successful new partnerships
• Support team to achieve its financial targets through new and existing partnerships
• Researching and quantifying opportunities alongside identifying and cultivating relationships with new prospects with a view to securing face to face meetings and long-term support

About the role

What you’ll get to do:
This role combines soliciting new prospect donors, donor management, partnership development, and data-driven campaign execution. The ideal candidate will be skilled in relationship building, fundraising strategy, and donor engagement, with a demonstrable passion for Travalyst’s mission of promoting sustainable travel and tourism.
Donor Management (~40%)
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with a portfolio of individual donors, corporate and institutional foundations to secure philanthropic and private funding and advance Travalyst’s mission.

- Strategise with senior leadership to retain and upgrade current donors, including personalised engagement for high-value supporters.

- Oversee donor reporting, generating data insights and analytics to inform future strategies and donor retention efforts.
- Manage reconciliation processes and ensure development data and financial data are in alignment.
- Collaborate with the team on CRM system training and improvements and support data migration if necessary.
General Administration and Team Support (~10%)
- Provide administrative support to the Partnerships and Development team, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and preparing materials for donor presentations.
