This is an exciting opportunity to join our new service supporting Unpaid Carers across Lewisham to improve their health and wellbeing, and access support that meets their needs.

The team works with unpaid Adult Carers, Young Adult Carers and Young Carers, completing statutory and holistic assessments to understand people’s individual circumstances and level of need. You will carry out home visits and community meetings, co-produce support plans, and develop effective relationships with Unpaid Carers, families, and professionals.  

You’ll build on your local knowledge to signpost and facilitate access for Unpaid Carers to support services, including financial and benefit advice, housing, health and safety home systems, and leisure and social activities. You will also support the development of escalation plans so that Unpaid Carers are prepared for unforeseen circumstances that would impact negatively on ability to care.

Applicants should have relevant personal or professional experience of working with Unpaid Carers and/or vulnerable adults or children in a social care, health, education or voluntary and community sector. You’ll need a practical understanding of barriers faced by Unpaid Carers, and an awareness of cultural differences and access to services. Experience of working in mental health or dementia services would be an advantage.

You should be an excellent communicator and able to motivate and empower others. This is a full-time role.

The Trust for Developing Communities is recruiting a Finance Manager to join the brilliant TDC Finance Team to provide high quality and valuable financial management that will support us to tackle inequality in Brighton and Hove.

The Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective management of TDC's finances. As Community Content and Information Lead you will be joining Breakthrough T1D, as part of our Community Engagement team. You will be an enthusiastic person with an eye for detail with the ability to plan, manage and deliver our community-based content and information, using expertise and knowledge of new developments. You will be a creative self-starter who will support the service and look for innovative solutions to support clients with complex needs. You are confident professional relationship builder and has good awareness of Safeguarding procedures. About the Role

In this strategic post as the Community and Business Development Manager for Essex you will play a key role in overseeing our existing work and also contributing to the development of future work within the region. You will directly manage the delivery of our community based projects, specifically the Heart of Greenstead and VCS capacity building, liaising closely with all key partners involved in the work, and representing the organisation in a wide range of system settings. Main Duties

1. Responsible for building strong relationships and developing working partnerships across a wide range of local stakeholders with the aim of developing new business opportunities in conjunction with the Regional Manager.

2. To plan, develop and deliver high quality programmes, projects and interventions and ensuring all are in line with the overall strategy and objectives of the organisation and that meet contractual obligations.

8. Play a key role in monitoring and evaluation plans, through collecting, analysing and sharing data (quantitative and qualitative) working with the TAWS Data & Insight team.

Knowledge, Skills and Experiences

The main purpose of this role is to deliver clear, accurate and valuable guidance to community organisations on renewable energy technologies, business models and project development processes at various scales. This support may range from advising on sustainable options for community buildings to assisting in the development of larger renewable energy projects, such as wind turbines and solar farms.

Pay and conditions

• The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week).
• The salary for the role will be £34,788 - £38,229 per year

Specific responsibilities

An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:

This might include local authorities, community organisations, community energy organisations, third sector organisations, developers, funders, investors and key supply chain actors.

Essential attributes for this role include:

• Have experience and knowledge of developing and/or delivering heat, renewable energy, or storage projects, including larger standalone renewables projects.

COMMUNITY HUB LEADER

Oasis Hub Warndon  

Full-time (40 hours per week, 1 FTE), Permanent Contract

Oasis is looking for someone who can combine an entrepreneurial flair and excellent leadership skills to become the next Community Hub Leader supporting the established Hub at Warndon. 

The post holder will lead the development of the Hub, situated on the periphery of Worcester City, serving the community of Warndon and the surrounding area, supporting the Oasis Academy and wider local community. The role will hold the vision of integrated community delivery, which will include a range of services such as family support, volunteering, youth mentoring, deliver a food pantry, advice and support, community events and a toddler group.

This is a key role as you will be responsible for strategic oversight of the hub charity, ensuring the youth and community work supports the work of the academy, working alongside other local Oasis leaders such as the Principal to develop one joined up local vision for the Hub.

This is a 6-month role initially because of funding secured but we hope to be able to extend this, as community-led research is a key aspect of Action Hampshire's work.

Key tasks include (see job description for a full list of tasks):

• Lead on specialist knowledge areas (community-led research, consultation and impact measurement), advising/training VCSE organisations on the subject and developing relevant guidance and resources
• Develop and deliver outreach and engagement activity
• Manage relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across the public, private and voluntary sectors to support the development of the programme and delivery of programme objectives
• Provide 1:1 advice and support to VCSE organisations and communities, using a coaching style to support service-users to identify/diagnose challenges, devise solutions, and develop actionable plans
• Plan and facilitate group workshops and peer support networks online and in person
• Support high-quality research that can inform service development and influence policymakers, such as State of the Sector reports
• Monitor and evaluate projects and activities against programme outcomes and VCSE/community needs
• Develop and secure funding for new and ongoing projects, including contributing to fundraising bids, liaising with corporate partners and providing services to customers

We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Community Engagement  officer (home based) to work in a small team. Extensive experience working with community groups is essential and a passion in empowering others.

Key Responsibilities:

· You’ll be the main point of contact for the building capacity project.

· You’ll support all volunteers and partners in the project.

· You’ll be identifying and establishing primary groups.

· You’ll help to support volunteers through recruitment and training.

· You’ll visit primary groups and potential new one.

· You’ll offer advice and best practice support to volunteers in the primary groups. You’ll review volunteers’ sessions reports regularly and observe their sessions where needed.

· You’ll work with the team to run volunteer drop-in sessions and social events.

· You’ll work with the team to develop and expand the program, being alert to volunteer and learner feedback and growth opportunities.

Terms and conditions:

· The post is based on a full time equivalent to 37.5 hours.  (Pro Rata)

· Evenings and weekends’ availability is crucial. Time off in lieu can be taken. No overtime is payable for this position.

· There will be 28 days holiday per annum plus public Bank Holidays.

As our Community Fundraising Manager you will drive income from community fundraising across the country, ranging from rotary clubs, university RAGs, schools etc. You will encourage and support local fundraising initiatives by FoodCycle volunteers, and participate in sponsored challenge events such as marathons and bike rides.

You will be a self-starter who thrives on engaging with different stakeholders to raise money and profile for FoodCycle. You will have experience of community fundraising, as well as event planning and delivery. You will have excellent verbal communication skills and confidence to give presentations. As this is a hybrid role, you will need to live within a commutable distance of Vauxhall, London.​

Mind in Enfield and Barnet is a fast-growing charity in North London providing much needed therapy, wellbeing support and advocacy services to people with mental health problems. 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Community Care Coordinators to support some of our most vulnerable users of emergency services. These roles have been developed to further support our service users alongside our statutory partners at North Middlesex NHS Foundation Trust Emergency Department, to increase their wellbeing, confidence, social integration, and independence.

The successful candidates will be responsible for working with service users during periods of crisis and support them through their journey of recovery to ensure that they are receiving the support most beneficial to them. This will be achieved through a person-centred approach to ensure that the views of service users are central to the planned support they receive.

The successful candidates will take a lead in working with service users to assess needs/barriers preventing clients from recovery, working with them to create a personal action plan, and monitoring and evaluating outcomes and progress.

Independence will be encouraged through self-management and recovery.

The roles will involve working in the community and with the wider team as well as our partner organisation North Middlesex NHS Foundation Trust Emergency Department to ensure that the community is kept up to date with the services that we are offering and the strong reputation of Mind in Haringey as a leading provider of mental health services in the borough is maintained.

This is a part-time position (26 hours per week), between the service hours of 9am-5pm (Monday-Friday)

Community Care Coordinators are based at 275 Fore Street, Edmonton, London, N9 0PD & North Middlesex Hospital.
