The Leprosy Mission (TLM) is the world’s largest leprosy-focused organisation, a pioneer in our field, with over 150 years’ experience serving people affected by this disease. As a leading international Christian development charity, we work in 10 countries across Africa and Asia to defeat leprosy and transform lives.
Today, one person every two minutes is diagnosed with leprosy. It’s a disease of poverty, striking the most vulnerable. Left untreated, it causes permanent disability. Stigma means that people affected by this disease are often rejected by those closest to them.
We are looking for an inspirational communicator to be the face of The Leprosy Mission. You’ll be working from home, with extensive travel across your region. As Complex Needs Community Keyworker you will provide one-to-one support to women on Probation living in the community, and women being released from Prison as part of their Post Sentence Supervision. You’ll provide focused support in identifying their needs and empowering them to access appropriate services in the community. You will also provide some in-reach and ‘Through the Gate’ support prior to women being released from prison.
You will manage a caseload of women with complex needs who are facing housing issues and provide them with advice, guidance and support that helps them connect with other support services in the community that can assist them to overcome barriers when securing safe and appropriate housing.
The role involves a significant amount of data recording and updating case management systems so you need to be prepared to spend a minimum of 35% of your working hours on this aspect and will need to manage your time effectively to meet the data management requirements. This is also a predominantly independent role, so you will need to be confident to make decisions and able to manage your own workload.
You will be employed by One Small Thing but will be part of a wider team of Community Keyworkers employed by our partner Advance. You will also have a desk space at Hope Street, Southampton, to facilitate close working with the rest of the Hope Street team.
You will be required to participate in training and team building events with the wider One Small Thing team as well as the Advance team, in Hampshire.
This post requires that you are able to drive and have access to your own vehicle; there may be occasions where you are required to support residents to attend appointments. You will also be required to attend local or county meetings or training.

Position: Community and Engagement Manager

Salary Range (depending on experience): pro rata of £32,910 – £38,745 incl. OLW
Hours: Part-time 21 hours per week. We are able to offer some flexibility with the role such as term time only or flexibility with days/times.

About the role
Richmond AID is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic person who will support our vision of putting Deaf and Disabled people at the centre of everything we do. We are looking for an experienced person who can develop and implement an engagement and co-production strategy. You will work closely with our other managers and play an integral role in the management team.
The role involves leading the delivery and development of our dynamic Community and Engagement team. This multidisciplinary team currently has 6 direct reports and services include: BuddyUp, Spade gardening service, Mental Health Peer Support service, Connect to Tech digital training, Campaigning and our wide range of peer group activities. There is a variety of skills and experience which will require someone to We are looking for someone to not just manage these services, but to lead their development and widen our coverage across the borough of Richmond. This will predominantly involve supporting the people involved to be leaders of their own projects, developing/modernising our delivery model, ensuring projects meet targets and quality standards and when required also being involved in supporting direct service delivery.

You’ll be confident in participative strategies and tools such as facilitating groups, arranging events, developing surveys, gathering views and responding to consultations.
You will have experience of managing a team covering a wide range of projects and interests. You will know what it takes to set up and manage a project and ensure it meets the intended outcomes.
You will be skilled in managing group dynamics and supporting your team to have boundaries with clients. You will also have experience of managing Safeguarding issues. Above all you must bring a positive, solution focused attitude.
Experience of campaigning work, with a track record of delivering innovative digital campaigns that have led to real change, would be an advantage.
About Richmond AID
Richmond AID offers 25 days annual leave plus eight bank holidays pro rata. Normal office hours are 9am to 5.15pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 5pm on Fridays. Our approach focuses on involving people from diverse backgrounds and encouraging them to develop their own enterprises and initiatives, especially (although exclusively) related to micro-enterprise and economic participation. We want local people's voices to be heard, but more than that - we want them to take an active part in a community's regeneration..

General Information
Big Local Works (BLW) is a community-focused economic inclusion charity based in Bermondsey, South East London. We want to help create a thriving, inclusive local economy and community in which everyone can participate.
To make this happen, we maximise local people’s financial and economic wellbeing to reduce poverty and hardship, and give them support to find sustainable, active routes out of poverty, including through employment and enterprise.
We deliver our support in the community through three main services:
- Expert welfare and benefits advice and advocacy for local people experiencing poverty and hardship
- Employability Skills training and coaching to help people access ways of increasing their earned income
- Start-up and enterprise support for clients who wish to start trading on the local ‘Blue Market’
People Powered Regeneration
As well as continuing to offer an ever-wider range of individual support, we now have a strategic vision to create a ‘people-powered regeneration’ in an area already undergoing massive redevelopment by property developers.
In July 2019, a community campaign was successful in securing £2m funding from the GLA for the ‘Made in Bermondsey’ regeneration project centred on making key improvements to the local market place, the Blue Market in South Bermondsey.
Final works were completed in July 2022 and the market now has a first-class infrastructure for traders, local residents and visitors to use and enjoy the Blue Market place. The market also showcases a vision of a better future for the local area: a more prosperous, resilient and connected local community where people come together to trade, socialise, and celebrate across the diverse boundaries. We need to pay special attention to BAME, and recent migrant, communities who have begun to settle in Bermondsey after many years of exclusion.
Through our work, we seek to empower local people, encourage enterprise and community activity, and support the regeneration of an area that has long suffered from the effects of deprivation. Most recently, we have been successful in securing £200,000 from the Esmee Fairbairn Charity for strategy and community engagement support in the local area.
Our key goals are:
- Local people have more say over the changes in their local community.
This means that local people are actively involved in the development of place-based community assets, enterprises and projects. Local people will have more influence on local development and regeneration.
- ·A more diverse range of local people work together to improve their community.
This means community members from a wider range of backgrounds become active citizens. There are better relationships and increased collaboration between local stakeholders.
- People feel proud of their local area, and hopeful for the future.
This means stories and messages about the area are more inclusive and welcoming of diverse perspectives and communities. People are better informed, and know more about the opportunities and assets in their local community.
Community Organiser – Enterprise and Engagement
Over the past 2 years, we’ve undertaken in-depth research and community mapping to understand our area's needs, assets and lived experiences.
This role has three key responsibilities:
1. Outreach and engagement with local communities to help them build a stronger voice during regeneration
2. Supporting the development of new initiatives by local people, focused on microenterprise and wider community activity
3. Ensuring that a wider range of local people are involved and included in community activity, and their voices heard – especially those from marginalized communities
Key Tasks include
Role overview:
- Apply recognised community organising principles and practices to support the development of new initiatives in the local area.
- Broker collaborations and relationships between local groups, helping them develop a shared voice during regeneration.
- Identify and develop active citizens, and support them to develop and deliver their own individual and shared community Initiatives, including those focused on enterprise and wider community activity
- Facilitate groups and provide ‘servant leadership’ for community groups where appropriate, managing conflict effectively
- Develop effective and positive relationships with local stakeholders (including, for example, local councillors, community networks and leaders, and partner organisations), communicating assertively, and with diplomacy and tact.
- Organise Events: Plan and host events, both online and in person, to strengthen community ties and increase visibility.
- Work closely with the Business Improvement District, local charities and businesses and key strategic partners to help us achieve the overall aims of the People-Powered Regeneration
- Build and maintain a network of contacts among our priority groups and communicate efficiently with each one
- Lead on day to day local communications and marketing, supporting the development of newsletters and online content, with appropriate support and resource

Skills, knowledge and experience

About the role:
The Young Women’s Keyworker will work with young women aged 15-24 to provide specialist 1:1 support to those referred into the service. The service is designed to be a “whole system” response to women and girls in the Criminal Justice System, so a key part of the role will include building relationships with statutory and VCS agencies, to support and encourage more young women to access the Minerva service, as well as setting up specialist referral pathways for young women in the community.
About You:
To be successful as the Young Women’s Keyworker you will:
Bring an in-depth knowledge of issues facing women offenders and those at risk of offending; both in and out of the Criminal Justice System. Have a strong understanding of the context and challenges facing vulnerable young women and girls, including the impacts of domestic violence, mental health, and sexual health.
Bring a significant experience of working with young women experiencing issues related to offending and experience of community engagement, advocacy and support work with young people and have proven practical experience of using motivational interviewing and coaching techniques with young women and girls, using a woman-centred approach to build trust and rapport. You will demonstrate the ability to work in partnership with relevant statutory and voluntary groups, developing and maintaining strong constructive working relationships.

Manchester Mind is looking to recruit an Administrator for the Community Engagement Team. The role will involve providing administrative support for our Improving Physical Health Team. This team work across Primary Care in Manchester, Bolton, Salford, Wigan and Trafford, supporting people with lived experience of mental health problems to improve their access, experience and outcomes of mental health services.
The role will also provide administration support for the Discharge Support Team who provide support to people who are in the process of being discharged from Secondary Care mental health services. We’re looking for an experienced individual to join our Community Fundraising team based in Wales as Community Fundraising Hub Manager, this is part of a job share role covering our North West, Northern Ireland and North Wales hub, the role will have the responsibility for the Wales and part of the North West area of the hub. We are looking to recruit a Community Development Officer in Stirling, to engage key partners and stakeholders in the region tailoring support, training, and education to create suicide safer communities.
What you will do:
Identify, develop and maintain effective partnerships with local communities, volunteers and key partners across the region to engage them in the prevention of young suicide.
Proactively promote suicide prevention including raising the profile of PAPYRUS and engaging with those personally affected by young suicide.
Equip a wide range of stakeholders to enable them to create sustainable suicide safer communities through the provision of tailored support, training, and education.
Deliver training and awareness raising products to a variety of groups including professionals, parents, young people, volunteers, and other trainers.
Contribute to the development and review of projects, and education and training products, in line with the strategic plan.
Contribute to and promote campaigns, training and opportunities as outlined in the Regional and Strategic Plans.
Represent the charity at events including conferences, panels, working groups and through media channels as required.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Previous experience working in a community setting, delivering information and training sessions, leading workshops, or educational activities.
A proven track record of networking and building and managing effective relationships, tailoring the approach to meet the differing needs of the audience.
Experience as a qualified ASIST Trainer or willingness to gain qualification and experience.
Experience of using own initiative and creativity to develop a project, programme, or area of work.
The ability to travel to different locations across Scotland and the wider UK to attend meetings, events and deliver training.

Kinship is in the third year of delivering the first national peer support service for kinship carers in England. We have created 145 peer support groups. We have supported and trained kinship carers to create and lead their groups in a way which meets their needs.
With a new contract from the Department for Education, we’re now entering a new phase of our service with a focus on:
- creating 90 new sustainable peer support groups in areas of most need over 21 months;
- sustaining and developing the current 145 existing groups; and
- providing support and help to build a sustainable and welcoming community for all peer support groups across England.
This role will mobilise, develop and innovate our existing offer into a new Peer Support Community Hub with the focus on supporting sustainability and building resilience of peer support groups and their leaders. You will support and build our Kinship peer support community.

The role of the Peer Community Innovation Lead is to oversee and take accountability for sustaining kinship peer support groups across England in priority areas as part of a new hub and spoke delivery model.

Thousands of vulnerable children pass through UK railway stations every day. Most of us wouldn’t even spot that they were in danger.
As Railway Children’s Community Engagement Worker (London), you will energise key stakeholders to come together to collectively keep vulnerable young people safe on the rail network. You will build and strengthen partnerships with – and between – the rail industry, British Transport Police (BTP) and others working locally with vulnerable young people in order to drive forward innovative approaches to contextual safeguarding.
As part of a dynamic team delivering the Safeguarding on Transport (ST) project, you will be responsible for developing our community engagement work in the London Area as well as supporting our wider UK programme. The role will require you to engage the public and work closely with British Transport Police, station staff and employees as well as local services in the area. You will support our innovative Safeguarding Action Groups that catalyse communities working in and around London’s stations to combine efforts and resources to keep people safe.
Your engaging manner, strong people skills and experience managing stakeholder relationships will ensure that you are able to help create a safer rail network that is actively seeking to look out for and protect vulnerable young people.
This is a London based role that will combine a blend of working from home with being out meeting members of the community across London - especially in and around some of London's busiest stations.

About the role
The NextGen Community Producer will play an integral role at Youth Music shaping and developing our support for young adults, particularly helping them to close the gap between learning and earning in music.
You’ll join us at an exciting time as we look to scale up and enhance our community engagement efforts. Building on the foundations established in phase 1 between 2021-2024, your focus will be on increasing participation, and fostering a more cohesive and active community. Day-to-day you’ll be programming national events, workshops and networking opportunities; brokering progression opportunities though Youth Music’s industry partners, and recruiting to paid freelance creative roles. The job will involve managing a variety of relationships with young people, playing a central role in developing and leading the NextGen community strategy, and supporting the development of a new brand and user journey for NextGen community members.
Key responsibilities
Programme Development
- Act as the day-to-day lead and point of contact for the Youth Music NextGen Community, representing their voice internally and externally.
- Devise and implement a clear strategy for the continued growth and development of the NextGen Community, with support from the Engagement team.
- Deliver impactful programmes of activities and support that will progress young people into creative careers, broaden their networks, increase their confidence and create access to new opportunities.
- Develop and grow the NextGen Community brand and visual identity, ensuring a clear offer and user journey for those taking part in Youth Music funded projects, and other potential new members.
- Increase the role the community plays in designing and delivering the NextGen programme, aligning with Youth Music’s wider aims and values around youth voice.
- Increase interaction between NextGen Community members.
Events
- Work with the events team to develop, grow and manage our programme of regular NextGen Community events across the country to bring the community together and showcase their talent.
- Develop and manage our programme of events in London in partnership with Young Guns Network (YGN), taking place in the offices of our music industry partners.
- Grow attendance at all NextGen events, working with our Comms and Marketing team to increase awareness and build the profile of the event series.
- Programme and manage all events within set budgets.
Partnerships
- Build and leverage relationships with partners and networks to enhance the offer for the NextGen Community (such as events, performance opportunities, workshops, studio time, content creation, and exclusive offers etc).
- Manage relationships with key corporate partners (such as Levi’s) to support delivery of the NextGen Community activities.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of potential partners to approach, and support wider fundraising efforts within the team.
Recruitment
- Lead on NextGen recruitment for NextGen Community Events and the Youth Music Awards, with support from the Engagement Coordinator. e.g. Create briefs for NextGen roles and be their main point of contact.
- Support recruitment for any other Youth Music or partner opportunities created for the NextGen Community. (e.g. gigs, festivals, activations, focus groups, etc).
- Develop the NextGen talent pool, finding new ways to promote and manage this.
- Create and source relevant national music-related opportunities for Youth Music’s ‘opportunities board’.
NextGen Fund
- Support the marketing and promotion of the NextGen Fund.
- Contribute and support NextGen Fund decision panels.
- Work with our Comms team to ensure that content created through the NextGen Fund is showcased on Youth Music’s social and digital channels. E.g. Sound of the Next Generation playlist.
Demonstrate Impact
- Work with the Insights Team to listen and act on feedback from the NextGen Community. This will be via monitoring, research and consultation that informs the ongoing development and design of the NextGen offer.
- Prepare and present reports on the plans, activities and impact of NextGen Community.
- Share our learning internally and externally at panels, conferences, and through written pieces.
Systems and processes
- Capture NextGen membership on Salesforce so that we have a clear understanding of who is in our community.
- Work with the Database Administrator to improve our systems, processes and user journeys.
- Work with the Comms and Marketing team to ensure the Youth Music website represents and serves the needs of the NextGen Community.
Other
- Ensure all activities are delivered in line with Youth Music’s values with inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility at their core.
