Major Giving at Friends of the Earth is looking for a new Trusts and Grants Manager, to set the strategic direction of the team and give dynamic and thoughtful leadership to the trusts and foundations portfolio.

As the team manager, you will be responsible for:
- Setting the direction of the team and leading by example in exceptional account management
- Collaborating with teams across the organisation to bring our work to life for funders
- Communicating the importance of trusts and foundation funding to internal and external stakeholders
- Inspiring the team to seek out new opportunities and build meaningful long-term relationships
Key Skills and Attributes:
- Proven track record of securing and managing five and six-figure, multi-year grants and delivering first-class donor cultivation and stewardship
- Experience in leading strategy development and delivery
- Evidence of a dynamic and innovative approach to presenting a range of funding options and scenarios
- The ability to proactively build and manage both internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to support strong bid and proposal development and reporting

The team:
The Major Giving team is made up of corporate partnerships, philanthropy and trusts and raises £6 million a year from our partners, funders and donors. It is part of the Income Generation directorate, which includes Individual Giving, Organisational Insight and Supporter Relations.
Working closely with all areas of the organisation, we match high-net-worth individuals, funders and partners to our projects and campaigns and motivate them to give significant gifts to Friends of the Earth.
The Major Giving team is ambitious, well-established, dynamic, and collaborative, with each income stream working closely on projects, events and proposals to ensure donors are stewarded in the most effective ways.

Our mission is to supports adults, young people and children living with long-term neurological conditions and/or neuro diversities to access specialist therapies, support, and information in a safe, supportive environment to help them improve their physical and mental well-being.
The Merlin Neuro Therapy Centre, located in mid-Cornwall, is a Cornish charity providing a place of support, therapy, information, and community for people living with a long-term neurological condition and/or those who are neurodiverse. We give financial assistance to our beneficiaries in the form of subsidised specialist therapies. Our purpose built, fully accessible Centre, opened in 2009 and offers physiotherapy; exercise classes; Ayres’ Sensory Integration (ASI) therapy (a discipline of Occupational Therapy), and oxygen therapy. The Primrose Hydrotherapy Pool facility, which was built in the grounds, opened in 2019, providing both individual and group hydrotherapy sessions.
Living with a long-term health condition brings many challenges, not just for those diagnosed, but also for family members. Symptoms can affect physical, cognitive, emotional, and psychological health. For our clients who have sensory processing difficulties, due to being neurodivergent, everyday situations and relationships can be perplexing and taxing.
Our main aims are to improve the health and well-being of our community; help people manage their symptoms and situations; and support their main care giver, often a family member. Services are delivered by a highly experienced team, with a broad range of skills and experience in delivering specialist therapies.
The Role
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven individual to join our team as the Business Development Officer with a commercial sales focus. This role requires a unique blend of fundraising expertise and commercial acumen to drive our vision forward.
Additionally, this role will focus on developing commercial sales strategies to generate revenue through partnerships, sponsorships, and product sales. - To mentor and coach those using the sites services to lead and shape the sites programme of development as a sustainable community space and social enterprise.

The role will work closely with the Senior Regional Fundraising Manager and other Regional Fundraising Managers in the region to plan, execute and deliver our core community income and expenditure budget, ensuring that no opportunity is left unturned.
This is a homeworking role (hybrid options may be available depending on location). You will be required to travel across your sub region to meet supporters and attend internal meetings at locations across the country including our flagship offices (London, Birmingham, Warrington and Belfast). You must reside in the UK and have the correct right to work documents to work in the UK.

The Development Manager (Individual Giving) will focus on increasing donations from individual supporters. Working closely with the Head of Development and CEO, you'll be responsible for growing donation schemes for individual supporters, stewarding major donors, delivering public fundraising appeals and promoting opportunities for supporters to make gifts in wills.

The Barnsley Refugee Advice Project team provides advice and support for asylum seekers and refugees to help them access services and mainstream provision and establish community links.
Working closely with local stakeholders and in partnership with other voluntary sector agencies running similar services across the UK, the BRAP team in Barnsley promotes both the integration and independence of refugees.
Barnsley is a city with high numbers of people seeking asylum and refugees living there, within a community with high levels of social and economic deprivation. The Barnsley Refugee Advice Project (BRAP) service exists to enable people seeking asylum and refugees to live with safety, connected to the expert support they need to live with dignity and independence in their local community, and able to rebuild their lives in Barnsley. BRAP is a partnership project with Barnsley CVS funded for 5 years by the National Community Lottery Fund, funded until 2026. The BRAP service plays a vital role bringing together statutory and voluntary and community sector partners to develop collaborative solutions to shared issues such as access to legal advice, while also providing solutions to key service gaps such as immigration and housing and welfare advice.
The post holder will develop and implement a community development strategy centred on the needs of people seeking asylum and refugees designed to achieve systemic change with refugees in Barnsley. They will achieve this by work with like-minded partners to create a coordinated ‘whole town’ change strategy that if successful could be replicated elsewhere as a model of good practice. The aim is to leave a legacy within Barnsley – a sustainable system that enables people seeking asylum and refugees to live in safety, connected to their communities, and able to rebuild their lives.
