Who we are

Oxfam is a global organisation committed to ending poverty and to helping rebuild the lives of those affected by it. We believe that, in a world that is rich in resources, poverty isn't inevitable. It's an injustice which can, and must, be overcome. It is a global movement of millions of people who share the belief that, in a world rich in resources, poverty isn't inevitable. We have around 650 Oxfam shops across the UK, and over 22,000 volunteers whose gift of time contributes over £18m to projects worldwide.. In just 15 years, extreme poverty has been halved. 15 more years and we can end it for good.

To spread that change and make it last, political solutions are also needed to tackle the root causes of poverty and create societies where empowered individuals can thrive. We will always act, we will speak out, and we won't live with poverty.
