Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience as Director of Resources, Director of Finance, or a similar role.
• Fully qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) 
• In-depth knowledge of corporate finance, accounting principles, laws, and best practices.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage multiple business functions.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and strategic thinking skills.
• Knowledge of HR management principles and employment legislation.

Key responsibilities of the role include: 

• Managing the info@ email inboxes and incoming phone calls to ensure supporters’ enquiries are addressed.

• Administrating community fundraising and sponsored events, including marathons and local fundraisers and coordinate the advertising of these with the Communications Team. 

• Work in collaboration with the Communications & Advocacy Team on developing responses to press related stories or announcement and Q&As for new campaigns, and emergencies.  

• Collect and communicate relevant stories, trends and activities from supporters to the wider team where appropriate.  

• Input information into the database pertaining to supporters, ensuring that records are updated on a regular basis.  

Requirements of the role include: 

• Good interpersonal skills, including a friendly telephone manner and the ability to build cross-cultural relationships. 

• Good numeracy and literacy skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent customer or supporter service experience and a can-do approach to problem solving and new challenges. 

• Proficient in computer skills, including use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Job Description

1. Maintain remote volunteer overview in line with remote volunteer agreement and guidelines working closely with Remote Services Coordinator

2. Ensure all administrative work associated with the remote volunteer programme is completed accurately and in a timely manner

3. Support with remote training and events calendar as well as planning of training sessions and events

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

You will work with a great team of advisors who are both experienced and skilled. Their experience covers former Samaritans, Pastrol Care, Social Work and Police Despatch Calling. As a team they learn and support one another.

About you

You will have had experience in delivering welfare support to others, and ideally this has been gained through a helpline. You will also need to be technically competent as most of this work will be done virtually through digital means.

The Role

What will I be doing?

• Provide key support to the Governance, Audit & Risk Manager on the IOP’s governance programme, including the organisation of Council Meetings and Core Governance Committee meetings, and the distribution of agendas and papers on the IOP’s Board Portal
• Be a key point of contact for the IOP’s Trustees and Committee Members, providing support and maintaining trustee information
• Support with the IOP’s annual Council Elections and AGM
• Support with the smooth running of the Group Internal Audit Programme
• Support the Compliance & Data Protection Manager with managing compliance with key policies and procedures.

Projects you work on may include:

• Quarterly Council and Committee Meetings, including one Council meeting held elsewhere in the UK
• Preparation or the IOP’s Annual Council Elections Process, whereby new trustees are elected by the IOP membership each year
• Helping with the IOP’s Annual General Meeting, including the preparation of the member notice and voting materials and ensuring the event runs smoothly on the day

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Director to help lead, develop and grow our Evaluation practice. The Director will sit on our Practice Board and be a key part of the leadership team guiding the success of the practice both commercially and in terms of social impact.

We design and deliver high-quality research and evaluation projects that help our partners make better decisions for children using good evidence. We work with more than 1,400 schools and 80 education organisations each year, with a wide range of partners including schools and multi-academy Trusts, charities and edtech companies, and the public sector.

The Director role will lead business development and strategic partnerships, support and oversee evaluation delivery, and hold a number of strategic responsibilities. For the right candidate we hope it will be both a challenging and rewarding opportunity to shape the direction of a growing social enterprise and help our partners make better decisions to benefit young people.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone with experience in research and evaluation, business development, and leadership and management. We are particularly interested in experience of delivering quantitative impact evaluations, though are open to hearing from a range of candidates. Experience and understanding of the UK education system would also be an asset.

We are looking for a new team member to provide full administrative and programme support to the Employment & Careers team. The role will involve supporting the team in the day to day running of the service including the preparation of contract documentation (such as registration forms, as well as specified supporting evidence: ID proofs, Proofs of Address etc.) for submission to funding partners, uploading data spreadsheets and CMS systems, and supporting the team with promotion, outreach and engagement of our services. This includes conducting follow-ups and answering queries (by phone, email and in person) from both current and prospective participants on the programmes being delivered by High Trees. They will also be responsible for the preparation of finance related performance evidence for monthly/quarterly submission.

The successful applicant will have experience of providing efficient administrative support, be very organised and able to work to deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Must also be flexible and excited about being at the heart of a small but fast paced team which is committed to providing an excellent service to High Trees’ users.

You will be our person on the ground - getting to know residents and organisations, making things happen, not just with the existing community groups and leaders in the Roehampton area, but also forging new connections with residents, activists and across the wider community and voluntary sector. 

Your day-to-day work will be varied and we expect this to include tasks such as:

• supporting local community organisations on a one-to-one basis, as well as creating and delivering high quality resources and support for them 

• delivering meaningful engagement with residents, empowering them to develop their own networks and co-design projects and programmes which support them effectively 

• managing a local grants programme which pilots and develops effective responses to community needs 

• co-producing and developing our Community Weeks programme as a platform for community support and engagement 

• gathering feedback and carrying out evaluation of our projects and of those we fund.
