We are looking for a full time Partnerships Engagement Officer to work with the WES Partnerships Manager to offer support and knowledge of ED&I initiatives to our growing pool of partners in the UK including, Engineering organisations from small start-ups to universities, SMEs to Blue Chip FTSE 100 companies who partner with WES to support women in engineering and their own ED&I strategy.

The ideal candidate will have experience of account management, preferably in a not-for-profit organisation and bring proven experience in equity, diversity and inclusion (ED&I). They will be a self-starter and be keen to provide new initiatives to help engineering organisations achieve their diversity goals. The focus will be to offer knowledge of ED&I to organisations to support the existing Partner relationships, and working with the WES team to provide insights and knowledge of ED&I.

Principal Accountabilities:

· Reporting to the Partnerships Manager to Create, develop, support, and manage engagement with all WES partners.

· Work with WES partners to identify, design, implement and coordinate ED&I initiatives for their organisations.

· Monitor, evaluate and report on the effectiveness of ED&I initiatives for WES partners.

· Manage other ED&I related projects as required.

· To support the Partnerships Manager with the development and delivery of an partners strategy identifying opportunities for growth from both new and existing partnerships aligned with WES’ vision and mission.

· Support the onboarding of new partners, processing new partner applications, monitoring payments and partner renewals.

· Host Partner webinars and networking sessions as required by the Partnerships Manager.

· Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve tasks and project goals, ensuring partnerships align with our Charity values and policies.

· Support the partnerships Manager with monthly reports to the CEO and quarterly to the Board.

· Work closely with the partnerships Manager and Marketing to provide ED&I content for the monthly newsletter and quarterly Journal

· Attend exhibitions and events as WES’ representative to promote our ED&I initiatives.

· Attend meetings of the partners Directors’ Committee and the Board as required.

We are recruiting a South Locality Lead Coordinator (28 hours per week) to join a supportive team who are committed to making life better for Manchester’s unpaid carers.

This post is an ideal opportunity for someone with project management experience, who is passionate about support for carers and enjoys working as part of a team.

Carers Manchester South (CMS) brings together three organisations: Manchester Carers Forum, Lifted and Together Dementia Support. The work of the team is focussed specifically on South Manchester. The Team works closely as part of Carers Manchester to raise awareness and identification of carers, and to identify what support is needed for carers that isn’t already there. Forming one team made up of partner organisations allows members of the team to each bring their own skills, experience, knowledge and passion to work together to put the quality of life of carers at the heart of what they do. The postholder would be directly employed by Manchester Carers Forum and would lead this team.

We are looking for someone with a good understanding of the needs of unpaid carers, who has experience both leading a team and a piece of work in partnership with others to achieve agreed outcomes.

This role is focussed on the South of Manchester and will involve some travel in the area. Your office/admin base would be your home address.

Role Description 

The Interim COO will lead on financial management; oversee individual giving and corporate fundraising and supervise the organisation’s operations across our international team.

Playing a pivotal part in the Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for ensuring that Veganuary’s day-to-day operations - including governance, administration, HR, finance, fundraising, legal and IT and data protection remain compliant, responsive, and efficient.

Core Responsibilities

As Interim Chief Operating Officer you will oversee Veganuary’s operations, financial strategy, individual giving and corporate fundraising and administration while providing management, leadership and vision to ensure the organisation meets its short-term and long-term objectives. Your responsibilities span the following different areas:

1. Strategy and management: Work directly with the Board of Trustees, CEO and Senior Leadership Team to develop the organisation’s principles and strategy as it grows. Act as a strategic thought partner to the CEO, with a focus on maximising Veganuary’s impact while ensuring growth targets are met and sufficient monitoring, assessment and evaluation strategies are implemented. Work with the CEO and Fundraising Manager to identify funding priorities and develop compelling cases for support in line with Veganuary’s 5-year plan. Line-manage, develop and empower a small team of full-time and part-time staff.

2. Fundraising: Oversee individual giving, corporate sponsorship and corporate donations including fundraising campaigns, events and project management. You will work closely with our Content Strategist who oversees individual giving and manage the Fundraising Manager. The CEO holds responsibility for major donors. Please still apply if you have no experience in this field, as responsibilities could be redirected to the CEO in this area if needed.

3. Operations, Administration and IT: Develop, direct and oversee all operational activities of the charity with a focus on designing systems and processes to enable growth. This includes leading on the implementation of processes, protocols and policies to help optimise the organisation’s day-to-day operations as well as overseeing our approach to data protection, health and safety and risk management. Oversee all aspects of office and admin management, including day-to-day office systems for security, maintenance and housekeeping as well as the management of IT systems and security through our outsourced IT provider.       

                                                                               

4. Financial strategy and management: Oversee all aspects of finance at Veganuary and Veganuary Trading Limited, including leading the development and delivery of our financial strategy as well as overseeing our processes for financial planning, control and reporting  including our audited annual accounts and Trustees Report).

5. Human Resources and Team Culture: Develop and oversee an effective HR function to ensure there are appropriate HR processes and procedures in place. Implement effective measures in recruiting, developing, managing and supervising staff including staff wellbeing initiatives. Ensure effective and positive team communications, and lead the development and implementation of our people and DEI strategy. Lead a culture of continuous efforts to improve efficiency and effectiveness while supporting and motivating staff to achieve organisational objectives. Ensure the organisation continues its positive, inclusive culture.

6. Governance and Compliance: Coordinate the production of Board and Subcommittee papers, ensure that governance processes are effective, and maintain a watching brief on governance and legal requirements. Participate in Board meetings and Finance and Remuneration subcommittee meetings when required and provide secretariat to the Board in conjunction with the Operations Manager. Set up, implement and manage policies, processes and procedures to ensure compliance with charity law and efficient operational outputs.

7. Legal: Oversee and support the organisation across a broad range of legal and compliance matters both in the UK and abroad and overseeing Veganuary’s Legal Counsel. Ensure that charity, company and employment laws are followed and all required reports and returns are filed in a timely manner.

Person Specification

An ideal candidate will have:

• Minimum of ten years’ working experience in operations, finance or business development with a minimum of five years’ relevant experience in a similar role with demonstrable management and strategic experience at a senior level

• Experience of working in fundraising, and managing fundraising teams
• In-depth experience and insights into the workings of different departments of a UK charity, including finance, operations, governance, charity law and human resources

• Proven experience in scaling up operations in a business or charity comparable to Veganuary’s current size

• Share Veganuary’s vision, mission and values and have a thorough understanding of the plant based movement and environment Veganuary operates within
• Excellent leadership and organisational skills
• A strategic and proactive approach to solving problems
• Knowledge of accounting, budgeting, financial analysis and data analysis
• Proven experience in strategic planning and impact analysis

4. A follow up second interview with the Hiring Manager and one other team member

This final stage is normally with more senior team members and allows them to ask any follow up questions or explore areas that they have reflected on since the first interview. There isn’t anything to prepare.

General Function:

The Senior Business Associate will work for the Europe & Eurasia Programme Management Unit (PMU) and will provide the highest standards of financial and administrative support to European funded Internews EE Programmes. We are looking for a responsible and professional individual to perform a variety of financial and administrative tasks. Duties of the Senior Business Associate will include the financial administration of current projects, oversight of project budgets and partner spending, facilitation of payment requests, budgetary projections and other financial and administrative duties that may be required during this period.

The Senior Business Associate will work closely with the Senior Programme Officer, the Senior Business Officer and the Programme Finance Analyst to provide timely and quality support to programmes as required.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial administration of Internews’s projects:
• Review project expenditure and ensure accuracy of coding.
• Manage cash-flow to ensure the availability of project funds at Internews’ offices.
• Work with Programme Finance Business Partners (PFBPs) to prepare financial reports for donors, prepare notes for financial reports, and ensure that costs are reported in compliance with donor requirements.
• Monitor co-financing plans.

Budget oversight:

• Review budget-versus-actuals and facilitate forecasting in line with project activities.
• Support partners with budget planning.
• Align internal templates to donor formats for effective monitoring and reporting.
• Sub-grants:
• Support Internews’ partners to prepare budgets under sub-grant agreements.
• Review financial reports from partners when required and coordinate corrections as required.

Payments and administration:

• Coordinate payment requests to London, including reviews, confirmations, and follow-ups.
• Monitor donor income and prepare requests for disbursements to donors.
• Review and verify suppliers’ invoices to London HQ and Internews’ accounting department in California.
• Support Accounting field teams in terms of induction and refreshment training regarding Internews and donors’ procedures and policies.
• Budget development: work closely with Programme Officer, Senior Business Officer and country offices to develop budgets for new proposals. Coordinate on the development of co-financing approaches and plans for opportunities with the European Commission and other European donors.
• Other tasks: participate in project audits carried out at the HQ as required by the London finance controls team; other financial and administrative may be assigned as required, including the preparation of requests for Personal Service Contracts.

Requirements:

• Relevant degree (preferable) in Accounting, Business Administration or Financial management.
• Qualification in Accounting (Knowledge of ERP (Agresso) will be a plus)
• At least three years of experience working in a similar capacity.
• Experience with European funders (European Commission, SIDA, FCDO, GIZ etc.)
• Proficiency in MS Office. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
• Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
• Knowledge of Russian will be a plus.
• Creative and a good team player.
• Excellent multitasking skills.
• Good prioritization skills and the ability to solve immediate problems.

About the role

We’re looking to recruit a Senior Communications and Engagement Officer to join the friendly CharityComms team to help us plan, organise and deliver communications and engagement outputs that support the needs of members, and drive organisational development.

A core part of the job will be overseeing the CharityComms’ social media work, by managing our channels, creating content, and delivering on our social media strategy to engage people and increase our brand profile.

Other key tasks include content creation and commissioning projects for our website, and having a supporting role in other general communications, engagement and marketing activity and administration as needed. Purpose of the role 

You will be working with the Communications and Engagement team to promote CharityComms and what we offer, through the creation and development of effective and engaging content, and community and stakeholder engagement. 

Communications and content are at the heart of this role, and we’re looking for someone with demonstratable experience in strategic, content-based projects, including commissioning and editing content from external stakeholders, social media management and content creation, and community management. 

Social media management and community engagement 

You will own the social media management of our channels, maximising their performance and supporting stakeholder engagement with our work. You will:

• Deliver and adapt a creative and engaging social content strategy with the Communications and Engagement Manager that meets our wider business aims and objectives. 
• Craft key organisational messaging into engaging social media content and posts to generate conversations. 
• Be responsible for creating, scheduling and managing social content using Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and our management tool, Sprout Social. 
• Responsible for maintaining upkeep of social analytics reporting, as directed by the Communications and Engagement Manager, to ensure activity supports wider marketing, communications and engagement strategies. 
• Continuously improve our social media presence and brand profile, including recommending and piloting new approaches to content and channel development to increase community engagement and meet targets. 
• Manage and monitor forum and social media groups and act as facilitator of conversations where needed, working closely with relevant colleagues and stakeholders. 
• Grow and deliver ways to increase engagement with new and existing audiences, including regular engagement activity on member’s posts (sharing, liking) and ensuring our member network is up to date within these channels. 

Content commissioning and creation 

Working proactively and collaboratively with the Communications and Engagement Manger to deliver our content plans. You will:

• Deliver and adapt our communications and engagement strategy to meet our objectives.
• Play an active role in content creation and marketing activity – including designing, producing and editing creative content i.e. graphics, photography, videos. 
• Develop, coordinate and update long-form pieces for our website, i.e. best practice guides and templates. 
• Have remit to commission content projects – using own initiative to develop initial pitches relevant to charity communicators and oversee the commissioning process. 
• Work with external providers where necessary to develop resources and creative materials where required. 
• Stay up to date with current communications, marketing and content trends, to advise the wider CharityComms team on best practice regarding content and campaigns, including accessibility. 

Website and email comms 

Working collaboratively with teams where needed or taking key roles to:

• Edit, upload, and publish content on the CharityComms website as directed. 
• Work with the Communications and Engagement Manager to continuously deliver on website strategy activities.
• Work alongside the Communications and Engagement Manager to deliver eNews campaigns. This could include commissioning, writing, research, proof-reading, scheduling, maintaining lists and reporting on performance as needed. 
• Actively provide feedback to the Communications and Engagement Manager and Head of Membership and Insight on planned activities and make recommendations for improvements. 

Other activities 

• Ability and confidence to deputise for the Communications and Engagement Manager where necessary.
• Analyse data for reporting and make recommendations.

The Trusts Fundraising Officer is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of a rolling programme of prospect identification, research and applications for funding from Trusts and Foundations.

About the PKD Charity.

Founded in 2000, we’re the first and only UK charity solely dedicated to improving the lives of an estimated 70,000 individuals and their families affected by polycystic kidney disease (PKD) in the UK.

PKD is a range of life-threatening inherited conditions that can cause kidney failure and affect other organs in the body such as the liver, brain, heart and bowels. Most people with PKD live with an uncertain prognosis, intermittent pain and infections, and then have to undergo life-saving dialysis or transplant in their 50s.
