We're seeking three skilled and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Young Person’s Worker. In these role, you will play a vital role in providing support to at-risk young people who are experiencing homelessness. We have roles available in our services in Islington and Waltham Forest.
Your mission: to support and empower young people to develop the lifelong tools they need to lead fulfilling lives outside the confines of traditional services. You will carry a caseload of clients who you will formulate a comprehensive support and safety plan with, which forms part of the ongoing casework, promoting independence and preparing young people for moving into independent accommodation, and employment and education.
About the Role:
As the Young Person's Worker, you will be working within a strengths and recovery framework embedded within a trauma informed approach to ensure client needs and aspirations are at the centre of the support planning process. You will be the lead worker overseeing the support and development of the young person’s needs and aspirations. You will guide and signpost the young person to the relevant statutory and non statutory services and will be key in motivating and coaching the young person to develop independent living skills.

Job Title: Finance Officer
Reports to: CEO

Bridge for Young People provides a home and support to young people (aged 16-25) who are leaving care or who are homeless. We have three houses in West Berkshire where we provide young people with a stable home, emotional support and practical help as they move into independence.
We are seeking a resilient, organised and self-motivated Finance Officer that has an exceptional eye for detail. The Finance role is varied and includes a broad range of charity, financial and budgeting responsibilities as well as working with the Support Services Manager in supporting young people in their tenancy sustainment.
Principal Responsibilities
Financial Management and Reporting
- Process all financial transactions within QuickBooks and perform reconciliation of all control accounts and bank accounts monthly
- Carry out bank reconciliations and month end procedures as required
- Record and monitor donations and grants, restricted and unrestricted, ensuring they are error-free
- Prepare and process monthly support invoices
- Process payments, following authorisation, via our Faster Payment’s system
- Ensuring bank protocols and records are up to date concerning authorised signatories
- Provide high quality and effective financial reporting, support and assistance to the CEO and Corporate and Community Fundraiser
- Creating and updating budgets and forecasts for overall operations
- Coordinating the Payroll submission and payments in collaboration with payroll company
- Preparation of Housing Benefit Schedules for new properties
- Monitor and review financial systems and procedures and recommend, devise and implement more effective and efficient procedures
- Highlight financial risks to the CEO and suggest/develop possible mitigations
- Advise and adhere to Financial Policy and protocols and authorisation protocols.
Tenancy Management
- Act as the primary contact for young people’s questions and concerns on issues such as rent payments and service charge queries
- Manage housing benefit claims, liaising with young people and West Berkshire Council
- Calculate young people’s rent on receipt of monthly payslips
- Track rent and service charge payments to identify any delays or arrears, liaising with young people and the Support Services Manager as necessary
- Manage arrears. Communicate with young people to remind them of overdue payments using a supportive approach
- Keep the Support Services Manager informed of persistent non-payment by young people, following procedures when necessary.
Technology
- Lead in providing technology recommendations to CEO
- Managing relationship with outsourced IT function
General Responsibilities
- To understand, adhere to and actively implement all the policies and procedures of Bridge for Young People and its services at all times
- To support the CEO in the development of strategies and the financial plans
- To operate and comply with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation and relevant Bridge for Young People policies on data protection during the course of undertaking the role

Personal Specification

BCYP has historically been very successful in raising funds from non-statutory sources, particularly trusts and foundations, and is grateful to hold a number of established relationships with grant-makers. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To work with the service manager and staff from the regional adoption service to continue to deliver the groups for children and young people.
• To deliver and promote all four elements of CONNECT, the Children and Young People’s service within South East Wales, in collaboration with the regional partners and to work with the Adoption UK team to provide national events for adopted children and young people and one to one support, from time to time.
• To work closely with other Adoption UK staff delivering support to parents in Wales to ensure the young adopted person’s whole family is aware of and accessing adoption support services where appropriate
• To organise and supervise the work of the Children and Young People's Support Worker, and representative staff provided by the regional adoption agencies, and volunteers, who help deliver the groups.
• To undertake the processing of referrals and initial engagement with young people and families.
• To work with the young people and their families to establish whether the service is appropriate for them and agree measurable outcomes in line with the guidance provided for the Regulated and Inspection Social Care 2016 Act for adoption services, as advised by the Registered Manager.
• To signpost or refer for other support identified through initial visits.
• To maintain agreed levels of contact with young people and their adoptive family whilst they remain registered with the service.

At an exciting time of growth for our charity, we are recruiting several delivery roles to support the opening of our 7th farm, set in beautiful woodlands and parkland adjacent to our existing Bath Farm. This role may be based at either farm, as part of our new hub model.
Known within the organisation as ‘Senior Visit Coordinator’
More about the role: As Senior Visit Coordinator, you will manage up to four visits a month, acting as the primary contact for a portfolio of schools and organisations. You will work closely with the Team Leader to ensure the visits are well-planned and executed, and you will deputise for them during visits when required. You will lead and support visits, deliver engaging sessions in areas such as woodwork, gardening, and horse care, and contribute to daily farm activities like walks, mealtimes, and evening activities that strengthen the connections between young people and staff.
You will ensure the smooth operation of each visit, overseeing the completion of documentation to track and monitor progress. and work closely with visiting staff to ensure they get maximum value from the experience including the follow-up process ensuring lasting change beyond the visit itself.
About you : We are looking for an organised, motivated and friendly individual with experience working in a social work, therapeutic or educational setting. You will excel at developing relationships with diverse individuals and organisations. Your communication and teamwork abilities will be key in ensuring the success of each visit, while your passion for working with young people will drive positive outcomes.

Responsible to: Support Team Manager
Location: Based in Loughborough, England. The role requires travel to all locations where Baca Services are delivered.
Hours: 37.5 hrs per week (including evening and weekend hours on a rota)
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £24,150 - £27,760 per annum FTE
Overall Purpose
- To provide support and care to young people who are newly arrived in the country, providing the foundations for them to rebuild their strength, dignity and grow their hope for their futures.
- To partner with social workers and representatives from other agencies, for the benefit of the young people.
Duties & Responsibilities
- To be a key worker for a number of young people who are in the care of Baca, providing high quality holistic and therapeutic support for their transition to adulthood.
- To deliver young people services in line with Baca’s Theory of Change, to enable young people to achieve the following outcomes, ensuring it is of the highest quality:
- Improved Physical Wellbeing
- Improved Emotional Wellbeing
- Increased engagement with Education, Employment and Training
- Increased Social engagement
- Increased Personal Safety
- To work proactively and collaboratively to ensure all young people are safeguarded and taking the initiative in resolving any issues that may arise with young people.
- To be a role model to all young people in Baca’s care, providing care and compassion without discrimination of age, race, colour or behavioural issues.
- Support young people to understand expectations of them and the support on offer to them from Baca and other agencies.
- Support young people in developing essential life skills in line with the individual support plan to prepare them for independent living. Training young people in living skills such as washing, cleaning, cooking and safety food shopping and budgeting; proactively and intentionally in line with the Baca progress plan.
- Support young people in developing their skills and interests in education, vocation or hobbies. Ensure young people’s interests, hobbies and aspirations are identified by getting alongside young people and working with the team.
- Be an active part of a diverse environment of staff and young people from different cultures and backgrounds.
- Support young people to engage socially at Baca and in the wider community to build positive trusting relationships with others through one to one and group social times, engaging in clubs and activities.
- Take part in planning and attending day trips and Baca’s annual residential week.
- Develop excellent working partnerships with social workers, solicitors, teachers, volunteers and other partners to provide a holistic development package for each young person enabling them to become independent.
- Actively plan, prepare and participate in all meetings and events that are related to the support of the young people.
- Prepare young people for meetings and help them to understand what is being communicated.
- Transport young people, in line with our lone working policy, to events and meetings making sure they are on time using your own car in a safe and legal manner.
- Support young people to communicate and express their own wishes and voice regarding all aspects of their life and future.
- Develop and maintain excellent communication with all members of the team and all external partners and supporters.
- Keep good records and carry out all administrative work required as part of the role, such as month end reports and support plans, on time and in a consistent manner.
General
- Be adept in employing the correct procedures for dealing with any safeguarding incidences or concerns, in line with Baca’s Child, Vulnerable Adult Protection & Safeguarding Policy.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in relation to work undertaken and ensure all confidential material is stored according to Baca’s Confidentiality statement and Data Protection Policy.

Personal specification
Baca is looking for a Support Worker who can join the support team and provide support, care and be a role model for young people who are newly arrived refugees and victims of trafficking aged 16 to 18. They will be motivated and passionate about the work that Baca does and the young people in our care.
The successful applicant will have the ability to ensure the support we give to the young people is of the highest quality and goes beyond the statutory standards set. They will be very approachable, reliable and a strong team worker. Someone who is supportive, approachable, responsible, reliable, personable and willing to be flexible. They will be a great people person who can develop key external relationships. They will also be a very organised and proactive individual. The successful applicant will need access to transport as the role requires visiting the young people in their homes and attending different appointments/meetings across the midlands. The successful applicant will subscribe to and work in line with Baca’s vision and values.
The role will require the successful candidate to complete an enhanced DBS check.
