For 40-years, School-Home Support has been working with children, families and schools to break the cycle of poor school attendance, low education attainment, anti-social behaviour, crime, low paid or no job, generation after generation. We are very proud of the work we do to support getting children and young people back into school, ready to learn, whatever it takes.
This is a new role in our People team and we are looking for an energetic and dependable People Operations & Systems Manager to work closely with our Head of People and Culture, to help implement best people strategies and practices to secure a sustainable organisational culture. You must possess significant HR management experience (3-years in similar role) to continuously track the department’s efforts and target its goals. This role reports into the Head of People & Culture and is a mixture of remote working and office based.
You will be liaising with all colleagues on HR practices and school and regional based practitioners; together with all Line Managers. Setting goals for people operations deliverables to track the department’s outputs and goals in line with our vision and values. Supervising and managing the people administrator and the L&D Advisor to manage the following:
- Reviewing and approving necessary modifications to the people operations department’s efforts from time to time.
- Overseeing specific tasks such as the full recruitment procedure, together with the People administrator.
- Full responsibility for payroll management; together with Finance and outsourced payroll bureau.
- Responsible for all our People HR/Training/ATS systems to ensure they are managed effectively and fit for purpose.
- Responsible for employee engagement and retention, employee satisfaction, and performance management.
- Ensuring that there is a healthy environment for all our employees to work in and that the people department’s workflow is efficient and compliant, at all times.
- Ensuring that DBS management is up to date; liaising with the safeguarding teams with any updates on DBS processes.
- Updating and implementing people policies, and managing the full employee life cycle administrative requirements
- Managing all ER delivery to ensure dispute management is maintained.
- Maintaining disciplines such as legislative regulations and guidelines.
- Develop a positive working environment, encouraging a proactive approach to people's wellbeing and leading the local Wellbeing Forum initiatives
- Be responsible for and drive improvement in diversity, inclusion and engagement.
- Be accountable for talent planning, succession, assessments and HR processes that drive a high performing team
- Provide general day to day HR support on operational issues
- Supporting Group HR Projects/Initiatives
Experience & Skills:
- CIPD qualified (desirable or equivalent experience)
- Experience in a charitable organisation would be beneficial, but not essential
- Proven experience in advising on complex ER matters

Herts Young Homeless is an independent charity and has been supporting vulnerable people in Hertfordshire since 1998. We are professional, passionate, collaborative and supportive charity that provides guidance to everyone who is in need of support.
Herts Young Homeless (hyh) are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic youth engagement worker to join our charity. hyh's strategic aim is to 'Be More Youth Led' and this role is crucial in supporting that commitment. What can you bring to the team?

- Co-facilitate annual ‘Youth Summits’; consulting young people from across the county on issues related to the charity/youth homelessness.
- Launch and facilitate a youth advisory board (online and in person). Act as an advocate to deliver key youth board messages to our leadership team and board.
- Co-ordinate work experience and apprenticeship opportunities for young people.
- Organise and co-facilitate social events for our young people.
- Support our young housemates in completing ASDAN qualifications.
- Support the content of our digital communication to young people.
- Complete relevant data to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of youth engagement work.
- Ensure youth engagement and coproduction is considered at all levels of the organisation to ensure decision making is youth informed where appropriate.
- Develop new an innovative ways of involving hyh services users in shaping our services and coproducing our work.
- Ensure good ‘youth voice’ communication across all hyh services, providing updates at service team meetings.
- Co-ordinate young people’s involvement in staff recruitment, training and induction
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with external organisations and professionals.

Your role will be to be responsible and accountable for maximising shop profit by achieving budgeted income, controlling shop expenditure in line with budget and recruiting and retaining a motivated team of volunteers.

Role Requirements
Income generation
To manage the Retail budget to achieve agreed targets:
• To maximise shop sales by achieving agreed targets both through donated stock and bought in/new goods. This involves proactive stock generation, optimum pricing, processing stock to agreed amounts and stock planning.
• Achieve Gift Aid sales conversion target through maximising new donor sign up and encouraging repeat donations.
• Achieve the shops Raffle sales targets through involving the shops team.
• To maintain high levels of shop presentation by merchandising and housekeeping to agreed standards as set out in the Shops Operations manual.
• Manage the stock levels of bought in/new goods, to include ordering of more stock as and when necessary and recording key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Assist in holding and attending Fundraising events to promote the awareness of The Children’s Trust.
• To source links with local communities to promote Retail in the community via media and other sources.
• Role involves a degree of manual handling in sorting and lifting of stock.
Administration and compliance
To ensure adherence to The Children’s Trust policies and procedures, in particular ensuring full compliance of the shops in line with all Health & Safety legislation, Trading Standards, Risk Assessments, Gift Aid, Raffle and all other legal or statutory requirements:
• To control shop expenditure through effective cost control of weekly expenses.
• To ensure minimum losses of both stock and cash by following bank and till procedures, and safeguarding the property of The Children’s Trust at all times.
• To adhere to all Policies and Procedures including those relating to the compliance with Health and Safety responsibilities, Gift Aid and Raffle.
• To be responsible for the daily management of Health and safety within the shops, completing daily checks and contributing to Risk Assessments.
• To complete all administration to meet the requirements, standard and deadlines for whom this work is produced.
• Embracing the change and development of new technology in the shop, for example The Loop (internal intranet) and Chariot (EPOS till system).
• Timely efficient responses to requests for information including voice and email messages.
• To fulfil any other agreed duties that may at times be reasonably required.
Personnel and Training
To ensure the Shops team are: recruited, retained and developed:
• Provides positive, visible and proactive leadership to the Assistant Manager and Shops Volunteer team.
• To manage all employees and volunteers within the Shop in accordance with the aims and values of The Children’s Trust.
• To be responsible for the daily management of the shop team, including contribution to performance reviews for any Assistant Shop Managers.
• To recruit, support and retain team of shop volunteers.
• Provide induction and training for both Assistant Shop Manager and volunteer team as and when necessary.
• Attend where appropriate, training courses relevant to the development of the role
• Promote awareness of relevant training courses and development opportunities to others within the team.
• Attendance at Retail Sales Meetings and responsible for cascading information to Shops team as appropriate.
• To assist the Retail Sales Manager in shop openings and closures.
• Undertake relief cover within The Trust’s shops as and when required.
• Carries out duties in accordance with Trust values.
Customer Service
To ensure customer care and quality of service:
• To provide excellent customer care through quality of service, dealing with complaints both efficiently and effectively, and having a good understanding of what The Children’s Trust does.
• Support other shops and fundraising colleagues as and when necessary.
• Adheres to all health and safety guidelines, including infection prevention and control.
• Provide evidence of a valid NHS Covid Pass or acceptable proof of Covid vaccination or medical exemption and all vaccinations (or medical exemption) required for the post.
• Adhere to manual handling procedures and complete mandatory manual handling training.
• Promotes the health and safety of others.
• Uses the incident reporting and risk assessment system (IRAR), to identify and report risks and incidents/actions if directed.
• Responsible for identifying and mitigating risk within the work environment.

Contract

Superkidz Community Trust was founded in 2001 and over the years, has provided children and young people with a safe space to play and to interact with adults who have the time to listen to them. We have developed a model of engagement, Transform Group and Individual Mentoring (TGIM), that puts interaction at the heart – not simply providing activities but ensuring that there are sufficient adults around to engage the young person in conversation and the chance to express worries, self-doubt and concerns.
All our workers are drawn from the local community and many have been beneficiaries of Superkidz themselves. Most have lived experience of the issues facing our young people.

Job Description
Key accountabilities:
The Manager will:
· Be an integral member of the team delivering Superkidz day to day activities and groups.
· Following consultation with staff service users and the Board prepare a strategy, financial and operational plan that best delivers impact in line with the TGIM theory of change. This should include locations, staffing, activities, income generation and should be fully costed.
· Lead the organisation in the implementation and further development of this strategy in consultation with the Board.
· Proactively use quality and impact information and strategic analysis to inform the development of new programmes of work that improve the lives of beneficiaries.
· Ensure that systems and processes are in place to manage, monitor and report on all compliance issues including; safeguarding, health and safety, and risk.
· Take accountability for financial decisions that protect the charity’s funds, ensuring the charity is sustainable and fulfils the requirements of the relevant regulatory bodies.
· Ensure that there is an appropriate funding strategy in place to secure the greatest possible diversity of income, through commissions, grants, donations, fundraising and social enterprise trading, and lead on the delivery of subsequent plans.
· Lead on the effective management of all aspects of Superkidz services and staff team, ensuring that staffing systems and procedures are up to date, regularly reviewed, and fulfil legal requirements.
· Oversee and lead on the development of staff to ensure that all teams and individuals have the opportunity for development and can work at the highest level of performance. Mentor and cultivate the existing skills of staff, providing them with a platform to grow.
· Ensure that all Superkidz services are delivered in line with all external and internal quality standards and in line with commissioners/funders requirements.
· Develop and lead on a marketing and PR strategy that promotes Superkidz, raises awareness, and increases client and funder engagement.
· Develop and lead on an effective communications strategy, both internal and external.
· Lead on the strategy to assess and develop opportunities for collaborations, alliances, and partnerships that deliver increased impact and lead to financial sustainability.
· With the Fundraising Liaison Manager, demonstrate leadership in key strategic relationships with public bodies, funders, corporate sponsors and other external stakeholders, through a range of communications, networks and events.
· Ensure full, timely, accurate and effective communication with the Board of Trustees and any sub-committees of the Board.
· Ensure that all decisions made in the course of the role are made according to current legislation and in line with all instruments of governance.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:
The Lead Coach is primarily responsible for overseeing the training room and group sessions with young people. You will help shape the training environment and will confidently adapt and deliver materials and sessions to work within the group’s development towards work readiness.
Delivery of Spear Programme - Group and 1:1 coaching [60%]
- Preparing and coaching Spear Foundation sessions and 1-1s, ensuring that young people are engaged, retained and work-ready by the end of this initial phase of the programme

BuddyUp Coordinator is a fun and exciting role at Richmond AID which requires someone who is motivated, creative and can work from their own initiative. The Buddy Up Coordinator will match disabled young people aged 14 to 17 to a volunteer buddy who will support them to access services and leisure opportunities. The National House Project (NHP) takes a ground-breaking approach through its commitment to young people’s ownership to enable young people leaving care to lead connected and fulfilling lives. The approach was co-designed with young people from the start and works on cooperative and social pedagogical principles through a groupwork approach which is supported by adults and young people in and leaving care working together. Using a psychologically informed relational practice framework young people gain skills, knowledge and the confidence to make their house a home and build a long-term community of support.
NHP supports Local House Projects (LHP) to put young people at the centre of the decision-making processes, challenges staff to work with them in an inclusive way and encourages staff to support young people to find the solutions to the challenges they face. LHP achieve improved outcomes for young people, supports professionals in the ways that they work with young people and enable young people to leave care in a supported and ‘less scary’ way.
To ensure that young people are involved at every level of the organisation, each LHP is represented by 2 young people at regional meetings and from these forums, young people elect their representatives for Care Leavers National Movement. CLNM provides a forum to develop practice, share ideas and find solutions to challenges. The Chair and Vice Chair of CLNM are supported by CLNM Champions and sit on the Board of Trustees as expert advisors.
To support the expansion of the Charity we have increased our strategic capacity by creating the post of Deputy Director and are now recruiting to the practice lead roles. We are looking for someone who is motivated, believes that with the right support care experienced young people can achieve great things and should be at the heart of any decision that affects their future. You will support staff in LHPs to create an environment where young people transition to adulthood in a positive and supported way and hence an understanding of child development, social pedagogical approaches and psychologically informed care are important. You will also work with the CLNM as well as the core NHP team to ensure that young people continue to drive the approach at both a local and national level.
You will need to have management or supervisory experience of staff working with young people in groupwork settings and an understanding of the care system. You will have a professional/academic qualification in a related field e.g., Youth Work; Social Work; Education, Health, social pedagogy. Current registration with a professional body is desirable.

As Safer London enters a dynamic new stage of development looking at the next phase of its organisational strategy, we have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced individual to join our dedicated team of practitioners. We are currently seeking a Specialist Caseworker Violence and Exploitation to work alongside those young Londoners affected by violence and exploitation.

Safer London is a charity working with young Londoners and families who are affected by violence and exploitation. By working alongside young Londoners, their families, and peers in the places where they spend their time, we can create a safer London not just for them but for everyone.
About the role:
In this impactful role, you will cultivate strong trusting relationships with young Londoners, offering personalised support on a one-to-one basis. Your responsibilities will encompass a diverse range of direct support and advocacy, with a focus on safeguarding and the wellbeing of young Londoners affected by violence and exploitation.
