Role Summary
LGBT Foundation is an impactful, vibrant charity with a wide portfolio of well-established services and rapidly developing new initiatives aimed at meeting the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans people. We are looking for a People Advisor to support in providing advice, guidance, and clarity for all colleagues on various HR and recruitment systems and processes. The People Advisor works alongside the rest of “Team People” which also comprises of Organisational Development, Volunteer Programme and Centre Operations – working to ensure that LGBT Foundation has the best working environment and processes possible for its colleagues.
We are taking positive action to encourage applications from people of colour (PoC) and other racially minoritised communities, trans*, non-binary, and/or older people (aged 50+), to improve the representation of colleagues from these communities in our staff team.
*Trans is an umbrella & inclusive term used to describe people whose gender identity differs in some way from that which they were assigned at birth; including non-binary people, cross-dressers, and those who partially or incompletely identify with their sex assigned at birth.
Role Accountabilities
1. Support with the implementation of the People Strategy
- Support the workforce and develop skills through training and leadership programmes, talent retention and fair and inclusive recruitment processes. This is to ensure we recruit and retain a diverse, well-supported and empowered team.
- Develop and implement ways to maintain morale and wellbeing across the workforce to ensure resilience and help to create an empowering culture where colleagues can achieve their full potential.
2. Ensuring all HR and operational policies and procedures are implemented across the organisation, and helping to support colleagues and advise SLT where they are not adhered to or pose a risk to the organisation.
- Supporting LGBT Foundation’s Policies to ensure they are updated regularly and support in drafting updates for existing and brand-new policies relating to our People, including researching best practice.
- Develop new processes and procedures in line with our policies and practice to support line managers and colleagues.
- Provide training to individuals and the wider team on HR and People processes when required.
3. Giving support and advice to all levels of the organisation with all matters regarding HR policy and procedure to ensure effective and efficient management of attendance, performance, misconduct, employee dispute resolution.
- Ensure that guidance and advice remain up to date based on current legislation, case law and HR best practice.
- Support the Deputy Director of People with complex and contentious cases, investigations, and appeals.
- Supporting the senior leadership team by providing robust advice on a variety of People related cases and initiatives.
- Support line managers (and individuals) on navigating formal processes to ensure legal compliance, fairness, and consistency.
- Support in creating employment-related documentation when required and ensuring the organisation has up to date and relevant records in line with employment law.
4. Ensure that the organisation’s training and development aims are delivered.
- Support in implementing the training and development needs of the organisation as part of the people strategy, including evaluation as part of a quality cycle.
- Ensure all line managers conduct regular, consistent, and supportive one to ones, appraisals, specifically concerning professional development needs of individuals in line with careers objectives where appropriate.
- Deliver and/or organise HR and organisational training in line with the quality cycle, including GDPR, line management and any other related areas to ensure the organisation and its colleagues stay compliant, with the Deputy Director of People.
- Ensure all colleagues are engaged with and trained in using our HR Management system, People HR.
5. Oversee and support implementation of our recruitment processes and work alongside colleagues and SLT to work toward the best practice when it comes to fair and inclusive recruitment in line with the organisation’s diversity targets and employment law.
- Ensure the recruitment checklist is followed by all recruiting managers and colleagues.
- Support in implementing up to date training on inclusive recruiting practices.
- Support in designing a range of interview and shortlisting activities.
- Produce and ensure sign off from all employment documentation in line with Employment Law - including retention and storage, throughout the life of the employee journey
- Assist with all key stages of the employee lifecycle from on-boarding, training and development and through to exit interviews.
6. Work with the Finance team and other key colleagues to assist in the delivery of monthly payroll processes, including changes, new starters and leavers from LGBT Foundation
- Complete payroll onboarding of new starters, including HMRC and personal details, on a monthly cycle.
- Assist with calculations for leavers, employees making changes to their pay, and other payroll matters on the same monthly cycle.
- Assist with implementation of wider payroll measures such as organisational pay initiatives, changes to legislation, and special allowances.
- Ensure that the organisation’s HR system is accurate at all times as a point of reference for monthly payroll, including holding the responsibility for updating pay and terms information on the HR system for all colleagues.
- Act as a point of contact with our external payroll provider ensuring any changes are captured each month.

- Provision of monthly information (accurate data and informative commentary) within your areas of responsibility for performance management purposes.

The Role
Based at our Head Office in Basingstoke, Hampshire, and reporting to the Marketing Manager, you will deliver engaging, creative, data-driven marketing campaigns targeting our beneficiaries and supporters across the UK’s fire services community. You’ll achieve this by utilising all our available media channels including email, websites, direct mail, social media, on/offline advertising and events.
In this fast-paced and exciting role, you’ll be supporting teams across our Charity to promote our health and wellbeing services to the deserving people we support. You will also assist our fundraising teams to generate the income needed to fund the diverse range of services we provide to the fire family.

About You
We’re looking for an enthusiastic marketer with experience delivering marketing campaigns that demonstrate a return on investment.

The Finance Officer is responsible for working within the core Wheels for All team to provide finance team support to the wider programme delivery and national staff team. By working with colleagues to maintain financial systems, accurate record keeping and undertake financial administration they will provide the support required to implement and improve the processes needed to maintain the accurate financial management systems which are crucial to supporting the charity’s mission.
This role would suit someone with at least 2 years’ experience in a charity finance role, who has experience or knowledge of all the core accounts department processes and some understanding of different charity income streams. You might be studying for an accounting qualification (e.g. AAT or ACCA) or be qualified by experience. A training package may be available for an applicable accounting qualification.

Role responsibilities
Financial Administration
• Maintain efficient and accurate computerised financial accounts & bookkeeping records (the organisation currently uses SAGE) including the upkeep of the records management with regular reconciliation activity according to standard processes.
• Receive and process invoices for payments to/ from suppliers.
• Record income from users, supporters, donors, members etc and maintain up to date records of income received.
• Analysing our donations ensuring accurate income allocation and consider any Gift Aid submissions.
• Liaising with and responding to enquiries from colleagues, suppliers, and partners.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly reporting, quarterly management accounts, any Gift Aid claims and annual audit.
• Process employee expenditure claims & assisting with the preparation of payroll.
• Supporting the preparation for the annual audit, e.g. fixed asset records and maintain the fixed asset register
• Supporting colleagues on finance procedures and protocols and advising colleagues on finance queries.
• Liaising with staff and volunteers to process expense claims accurately and timely.
• To support the Finance Manager in reporting back on budget-to-budget holders
• Support departments in providing detailed financial analysis work which aids their work.
Outcomes: The charity has accurate high quality financial management records which support the efficiency of operations.
Programme Support
• Administer, track, and record petty cash and staff expenses.
• Support budget monitoring & reconciling of programme expenditures. Answering queries, seeking appropriate clarifications & making inquiries of coded expenditures, and providing up to date information to the wider staff team.
• Assist the Finance Manager in creating financial reports to enable tracking and monitoring of spend, regular budget monitoring and in reporting to funders.
Outcomes: The staff team have the financial information and support centrally to run effective projects with partners and volunteers, and to report to trustees and external funders.
Compliance
• Ensuring your work is carried out with excellent attention to detail to the required quality standards and adhering to internal financial management procedures.
• Provide documentation to facilitate programme operations, including grant documents and funder reports.
• Support the Finance Manager in ensuring the charity is compliant with contractual and legal obligations.
Outcomes: The charity is fully complaint with company and charity legislation;
and best practice regarding financial management.
Accountability and relationships
The Finance Officer will be accountable to the Finance Manager and will be a key member of a small finance team (up to 3 people). They will work closely with a core office team and other members in the national Wheels for All network. They will also have a working relationship with suppliers, partners, and volunteers. They will be expected to attend regular staff meetings and supervision sessions.

Skills/knowledge
• Proven experience in all areas of accounts - purchase and sales ledger, banking and cash management, basic management accounts.
• Excellent numeracy skills.
• Understanding of bank reconciliations, control accounts and other day to day financial management procedures.
• Good knowledge of customer relations management and database software, (for example Salesforce).
• Knowledge of financial management systems/software, ideally Sage.
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly excel and an ability to quickly learn new systems.
• Good time management and problem-solving skills.
• An accountancy qualification or studying for (e.g. AAT, ACCA), or proven qualification by experience.
• An understanding or awareness of how to manage restricted and unrestricted funds & common charity VAT & taxation issues an advantage.
• Good organisational and time management skills to be able to prioritise workloads effectively, meet deadlines and monitor outcomes.

• Experience of dealing with charitable income, restricted grants, and charity taxation (desirable).

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our Education Team. This role will require the successful candidate to support an integrated and holistic approach to education, health and care, work under the direct supervision of an allocated teacher / senior specialist teaching assistant, support access to learning and provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils in learning opportunities and to assist the teacher in providing relevant support for pupils with severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and complex therapeutic, medical and health needs.

Role Requirements
STL1 – Provide support for Learning Activities set by Classteacher & Senior Specialist Teaching Assistant
- To support learning activities for individual, groups or whole classes of pupils, leading activities under the direction of the teacher or Senior Teaching Assistant supporting the teacher in their delivery of lessons.
- To demonstrate our School Ethos and Pupil Charter throughout the School day.
- Holistically integrate education, health and care needs.
- Evaluate and record procedures for learning activities.
- To know individual learning targets for each pupil in the group(s) and take specific action to enable individual pupil goals be achieved.
- To attend to the general care, maintenance and storage of classroom equipment.
STL 2 – Support Children’s Development
- Observe pupils, sharing observational findings, contribute to the implementation of activities to support development.
- Actively contribute towards record-keeping particularly in respect of pupil learning, therapeutic interventions, behaviour management, child protection and any other specific programme set up for individual pupils by the teacher / Senior Specialist Teaching Assistant / Therapist.
STL 3 – Help to keep Children Safe
- Undertake annual safeguarding training.
- Adhere to the school’s Safeguarding and Child Protection procedures and policies. Recording incidents pertaining to pupil safety, including for illness, accidents and incidents, accepting that Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and that ‘it could happen here’.
- Read relevant documentation / mandatory reads in relation to Keeping Children Safe In Education.
- Report any signs and indicators of possible abuse, being sensitive to the child/young person and circumstances, Identifying, report and record changes in behaviour and physical signs.
- Be aware of and follow plans, risk assessments and record keeping pertaining to individual pupils, including care plans, health care plans, feeding plans, moving and handling and behaviour management plans, actively engaging in relevant training and competencies offered to ensure that you are able to support in keeping all pupils in the class safe.
- Ensure safe transport for all pupils in the class for off site visits.
STL 4 – Contribute to Positive Relationships
- Interact with and respond positively and professionally, to pupils and adults, including colleagues, other professionals and parents/ carers at all times.
- Work collaboratively as part of a class and wider School and organisational team.
- Actively support change where it is required to improve the teaching, learning and meeting of our pupils needs.
STL 5 – Provide Effective Support for your Colleagues
- Work effectively as a team member, being aware of and providing support to colleagues when needed.
- Embrace training and competencies to ensure that all staff in a class team are able to support each other.
- Complete all ‘Universal level training’.
STL 6 / STL 39 – Support Literacy and Numeracy Activities, Communication and Interaction Needs
- Support the delivery of appropriate communication, language and literacy as well as the learning targets related to cognition to individuals, small groups and whole classes of pupils, providing accurate support and feedback to the teacher and pupils.
STL 7 / STL 8 – Support and use Information Communication Technology (ICT) for Teaching and Learning
- Prepare commonly used ICT for use in lessons and be aware of and be able to use hardware and software commonly used in the school.
- Be aware of individual pupil’s specific needs as assessed by teachers and therapists and apply relevant recommendations.
- Support the delivery of lessons including ICT to individuals, small groups and whole classes of pupils.
STL 9 – Observe and Report of Pupil Performance
- Against intended learning targets be able to observe and complete assessments with teaching support.
- Support the classteacher in providing evidence (observational notes, photographs, videos) presenting in the appropriate format to assist the evaluation of evidence relating to the pupils’ stage of development.
- Be able to clearly explain and answer questions / justify your evidence of pupil performance to the teacher.
- Observe school policies and procedures for confidentiality of information about pupils.
STL 10 – Support Children’s Play and Learning
- To promote and support age-appropriate play for pupils.
- To supervise and actively encourage play and leisure activities during playtimes taking an active role in the organisation of play, leisure and recreational activities.
STL 11 – Contribute to supporting Bilingual / Multilingual Pupils
- When applicable be aware of the first language of pupils and their parents.
STL 12 / STL 38 – Support a Child with Disabilities or Special Educational Needs and Their Families
- Be confident in each of the pupils needs in the classroom and the relevant strategies that are required to support them.
- See the pupil as a ‘whole’ and integrate their education, health and care needs throughout their day.
- Support pupils with communication and interaction, cognition and learning, behaviour, emotional and social development needs and pupils sensory and/or physical needs.
STL 13 – Contribute to Moving and Handling Individuals
- Follow agreed Moving and Handling plans as prescribed by therapists undertaking relevant training and competencies prior to do any of the below:
- Carry out moves and changes of position taking account of the individual’s needs, preferences and their advice on the most appropriate methods and equipment.
- Use moving and handling methods appropriate to the individual’s condition, your personal handling limits and the equipment available.
- Move and change individual’s positions in ways which minimise pain, discomfort and friction and maximise the individual’s independence, self-respect and dignity.
- Observe, record and immediately report any significant changes in the individual’s condition when you are moving them.
- Record details of methods of moving and handling which the individual finds acceptable according to legal and organisational requirements.
- Undertake therapeutic programmes that have been developed by physio and occupational therapists.
STL 14 – Support Individuals during Therapy Sessions
- Receive relevant training from therapists and then implement training and competencies throughout the pupils’ day.
- Be able to articulate the purpose of programmes and ensure their delivery in an integrated way.
- Work with individuals to identify the effectiveness of the therapy sessions on their health and social well-being.
- Check observations with appropriate people and against agreed outcomes.
- Identify any issues or problems in relation to the therapy sessions and work with individuals, key people and others to identify and agree changes to the therapy sessions.
- Record and report on therapy sessions within confidentiality agreements and according to legal and organisational requirements.
STL 16 – Provide Displays
- To produce and maintain displays in accordance with the school’s Display Policy.
- To ensure that Information Governance and Confidentiality is applied to any information that you are privy to.
STL 19 / STL 37 / STL 41 – Promote Positive Behaviour
- Highlight and praise positive aspects of pupils’ behaviour appropriate to the individual.
- Recognise patterns and triggers which may lead to inappropriate behavioural responses and take appropriate action to pre-empt problems.
- Encourage the team to support pupils consistently and regularly review their own behaviours to model intended outcomes.
- Provide feedback to relevant people on progress made by any pupils with a behaviour support plan in line with the school’s Behaviour Policy.
- Implement individual pupil behaviour management programmes if required.
STL 31 – Prepare and Maintain the Learning Environment
- Prepare the learning environment to meet the needs of individual pupils.
- Support the teacher in the preparation of resources needed for lessons by gathering and appropriately positioning them for access.
- To ensure that pupils are in the right place at the right time in the right clothing with the appropriate equipment in the correct position.
STL 40 – Support Pupils with Cognition and Learning Needs
- Implement agreed strategies to support pupils with cognition and learning difficulties to learn.
- Sequence and structure learning environment and experiences ensuring adequate time.
- Consistently apply visual, auditory, object and tactile cues.
- Provide an appropriate level of assistance to enable the pupil to experience a sense of achievement, maintain self-esteem and self-confidence and encourage self-help skills.
- Listen carefully to the pupil and positively encourage him/her to communicate his/her needs and ideas.
STL 42 – Support Pupils with Sensory and/or Physical Needs
- Obtain accurate and up-to-date information about: a the nature and level of the pupil’s sensory and/or physical needs and apply to the pupil’s learning needs, planned learning tasks and activities.
- With support adapt the layout of the learning environment and the equipment used to enable the pupil with sensory and/or physical needs to access and maximise learning opportunities.
- Encourage the pupil to actively participate in learning tasks and activities consistent with his/her developmental level, physical abilities and any medical conditions.
- Ensure that any specialist equipment is used appropriately to maintain the pupil’s comfort and maximise his/her participation in learning tasks and activities.
- Give appropriate assistance to enable the pupil to experience a sense of achievement and encourage independence.
- Positively reinforce the pupil’s efforts to participate in learning tasks and activities.
STL 43 – Assist in the Administration of Medication
- Apply standard precautions for infection control and other relevant health and safety measures.
- Report any discrepancies or omissions you might find to the person in control of the administration and to relevant staff as appropriate.
- Be aware of School procedures.
- Contribute to administering and record keeping of medication to individuals in the appropriate manner, using the correct techniques according to the care plan if signed off as competent in doing so.
- Ensure the security of medications throughout the process and ensure all medication is stored in the correct safe place when administration is complete.
STL 4 – Meet their Personal Support Needs
- Attend to pupils’ personal care needs as and when necessary ensuring care and dignity at all times.

The Role

The Head of Strategic Projects and Management (Maternity Cover) will be pivotal in the Strategic Management Department, which is a supportive and hard-working team playing a critical role in the organisation. Responsibilities
Strategic Development
- Identify, propose and lead strategic development opportunities for the organisation. Conduct sector research to ensure that the Foundation’s strategy is data and environment-informed. Keep abreast of political developments in relation to MAT growth and development and investigate emerging opportunities in the field. Produce feasibility studies for prospective longer-term growth and development options in line with the overall Foundation Strategy.
- Develop and maintain an organisational analysis, including undertaking and presenting research on potential joiner schools and strategic partners, such as for joint ventures and new initiatives. Champion the Foundation Office’s adoption of Microsoft Viva Goals and the Objectives and Key Results (OKR) framework across various leadership groups, leveraging the platform as a tool for collaboration and strategic planning. This includes the delivery of training workshops and either leading or overseeing regular check-ins. Monitor and track major projects across the Foundation, supporting colleagues where required with project management oversight, visibility of key activity and effective resource allocation. Growth Projects
- Conduct growth research with a focus on the current educational and political climate, looking to the Department of Education and West Midlands Regional Directorate for changes and updates to relevant policy. In the event of an academy conversion, transfer, or merger, the postholder would also undertake the following duties: Convene and manage a project group comprised of representatives from the school, the Academy Trust and Birmingham City Council if appropriate. Manage all project documentation (including a comprehensive and regularly updated project plan, a register of risks and issues, an action tracker, project meeting notes, and reports to Trustees). Lead a thorough due diligence process. Support the incoming school to run a consultation process. You will be responsible for the coordination, leadership, planning and delivery of Darwen Youth Zone Youth Club provision for young people aged 13 to 19 years (21 with a disability). Working positively, collaboratively and at pace with an enthusiastic and energetic youth work team, you will ensure our programme and offer for young people is of high quality, meets the needs of every young person in Blackburn with Darwen and ensures our offer reflects and exceeds on the wishes, needs and views of young people.
You will hold line management responsibility seeking to ensure that there is strong evidence of effective performance in line with our vision, mission, values and strategic objectives. The role will require you to have previous experience within a youth work setting and strong evidence of excellent safeguarding knowledge and practice.

Service:
- To ensure that the offer for young people is the best possible service, ensuring there is a diverse range of activities that create opportunities and encourage young people to participate and have a go at new things.
- To work towards agreed targets including attendance, participation, progression, impact and evaluation and key performance indicators.
- Ensure the programmes meet the needs of existing and new members, engages a diverse range of young people from across BwD and support their active participation and promote their retention

Reporting to the Deputy CFO FRAP, this is a pivotal finance role that oversees all financial activities within the Engagement Division, including ensuring solid financial governance and compliance with Oxfam’s statutory requirements and providing strategic financial advice to various stakeholders across the organisation to support decision making and the division’s operational objectives. ASH Co-op is a thriving tenant-managed housing co-op in Cambridge. We have two part-time staff and are looking for a focused, committed, self-motivated and enthusiastic person to take the role on to cover for maternity leave to start from late September.
This is a varied front-line role involving collecting rent and taking enquiries, including maintenance requests and applications for membership. It also involves monitoring budgets, some basic accounting and general office administration. You must be IT literate with a good working knowledge of excel and will ideally have previous experience of housing work, or a similar office environment.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To be responsible, with our other housing co-ordinator/s, for the day-to-day running of ASH Co-op in co-operation with the membership; deal with outside bodies on behalf of the co-op; keep computer records; maintain and develop office and financial systems; and provide administrative support for working groups.
REPORTING TO
The Employment Co-ordinators, who are elected by the members on to ASH Co-op’s committee.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
All tasks are to be carried out with the relevant Co-ordinators and Working Groups where appropriate. As a volunteer led organisation, the Housing Co-ordinators will be expected to liaise with working group co-ordinators from time to time to agree how tasks will split between them. A key responsibility of the Housing Co-ordinators is to provide continuity where volunteers are unable to do so.
The successful applicant will be able to work Tuesdays and spread remaining hours across other weekdays between 8am-7pm when needed. The core office opening hours are 9.30am- 5pm. This role is being offered on a 13 month fixed contract.

Collaborate closely with parish priests and lay leadership teams to offer fundraising support and implement Planned Giving campaigns. Liaise with parish and central finance teams to monitor the results of these campaigns, devising reports for the Head of Communications and Chief Operating Officer
