An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Practitioner Assistive Technology, Band 7 to join our Assistive Technology Team. This role will require the successful candidate to provide a high quality, evidence based assistive technology service, promoting participation, communication and interaction for children and young people accessing The Children’s Trust Therapy Services. Additionally, you will develop and deliver the service, in collaboration with multidisciplinary health, therapy and education teams.

Our service delivery aims to promote outcome focussed interventions, safe care, function, and participation, of children and young people accessing home, school, and community life. You will provide clinical leadership within the area of assistive technology, across the therapy service, ensuring the delivery of child and family focused goal led interventions at a highly specialist level, for children and young people accessing The Children’s Trust School and in-patient neurorehabilitation services.

Role Requirements

• Lead the provision of high quality, evidence based assistive technology interventions, for children and young people attending The Children’s Trust School and receiving in-patient neurorehabilitation.
• Provide clinical leadership to the Assistive Technology Team, identifying service priorities, service delivery methods and standards of practice.
• Provide assessments for complex augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems
• Identify service needs for AAC and selection of appropriate hardware, software, access, and mounting options, as per organisational policies and procedures.
• Understanding of mainstream technologies in specialist support, assistive technology, and computer access.
• Knowledge of environmental control and powered mobility.
• Lead in the design and implementation of communication and technology resources.
• Maintain and disseminate specialist knowledge of eye-gaze control and the use of eye-tracking, within clinical assessment and management.
• Develop therapy goals, plans and methods, in collaboration with the child and family/carers, as well as the Multidisciplinary and Education teams, founded upon evidence-based practice.
• Be an autonomous Practitioner, with responsibility and overview for Assistive Technology interventions, and maintaining relevant records and reports.
• Work closely with all members of the Multidisciplinary Team, as well as the child and family, to provide a fully integrated approach to the overall management of the child. This will include any home/school visits, professional child related meetings and/ or appointments, as required.
• Identify and utilise specialist assessments and relevant outcome measures, for children/young people receiving assistive technology interventions.
• Work flexibly across site as needed e.g. with the team in the Children’s Trust School
• Work flexibly in terms of hours, in order to meet the needs of the service, including an early evening (weekly) and one weekend day, per calendar month.
• Represent the Therapy Team and The Children’s Trust when appropriate, deputising for the Team as required.
• Undertake specialist assessments, externally responding to national and international requests.
• Act as the Lead Professional for complex case management and coordination, as and when required.
• Actively participate in, support and Chair relevant Multidisciplinary Team meetings, as and when required.
• Undertake other or additional duties that are within your skills and abilities, as the organisation may reasonably require from time to time.

With experience of working in a complex environment, across a large and diverse workforce, you will be exceptionally organised with a high-level of attention to detail. You will naturally possess excellent inter-personal skills, and an ability to consult and positively engage with key stakeholders across the organisation.

The primary focus of the role is the day-to-day management of various donor contracts which have a learning and research focus. These contracts currently include both governmental and private foundation contracts. The Programme Manager will oversee the delivery of programmes, coordinating budgets, workplans, consultant management, and administration.

The Programme Manager will be assisted in this by a Project Officer, and will work closely with the Operations Manager, to whom they will report (currently based in the UK). The Programme Manager will work closely with teams of consultants based globally, research institutions also based globally, and also liaise with the Gender and Social Development Head of Practice (currently based in the UK).

• Through this new organisational role, you’ll proactively create and grow fundraising income opportunities with individuals, community groups and grant giving trusts and foundations. • Through your fundraising expertise, you will have a proven track record of building relationships with individuals, community groups, trusts and foundations and other donors to achieve and exceed annual income targets and KPI’s. Ada is seeking a dynamic and proactive Business Development Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing and maintaining partnerships with employers to support the growth and success of our apprenticeship programmes.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

Driving New Business Growth:

• Identify and nurture growth opportunities for new employer partnerships through thorough desk research and strategic outreach efforts, ultimately increasing the team’s conversion rate through targeted appointment generation.

Promotional Activities:

• Represent Ada at internal and external networking events, leveraging opportunities to expand our influence and strengthen our partnerships.

• Respond to incoming enquiries from potential employers and contribute to proposal writing.
• Craft compelling case studies that highlight the impactful outcomes for our employer partners and apprentices, in addition to responding to enquiries from potential employers.

Partner Development:

• Strengthen employer engagement through proactive measures such as Ada’s annual employer survey, hosting feedback sessions, and actively collaborating on programme enhancements etc.
• Drive customer (employer partner) success through rigorous reporting of cohort progress and swiftly resolving any issues in collaboration with Ada skills coaches, academic and operational teams.

Partner Onboarding:

• Streamline the onboarding process for employer partners, ensuring seamless execution of contracts and compliance with ESFA funding rules, while providing continuous support and communication until completion.

• Monitor student attendance to tutorials and devise innovative solutions to encourage attendance

Currently, we have a strong programme of Trust and Foundation fundraising, delivered by our CEO and functional managers, and a small programme of individual giving managed by our Communications and Campaigns team but no dedicated fundraising staff.

We are looking for an efficient fundraiser with an understanding of various fundraising strategies, from individual giving to trusts and foundations.

You will have to opportunity to build this role within a supportive and friendly organisation, and as part of our dynamic Communications and Campaigns Team.

About You

To fulfil this role, we are looking for an exceptional leader with a CIH Level 5 Diploma in Housing / an appropriate professional qualification.

You will have a diligent, proactive approach, forward-thinking and keen to develop opportunities for our services to make a positive impact to the communities we serve.  You’ll demonstrate commercial acumen and business planning skills with the ability to think strategically and make critical decisions.

What We Offer

Actual salary is £38,400 – 44,800 p.a. (pro rata) based on a 4-day week (28 hrs p.w.)

This role is based at our head office in Solihull, plus Agile / Homeworking. The role requires operational travel within the Solihull borough; therefore, the successful candidate will need a full driving licence.

We are a small organization with a culture of ‘can do’ and everyone mucking in. We currently do not have a fundraising team but anticipate the Head of Fundraising will build such a team on the back of increased income generation. 

Your role:  In this role, the fundraiser will use expert communication skills and a keen sense of initiative to identify fundraising opportunities, develop relationships with potential donors, and manage fundraising campaigns. By coordinating events, writing proposals, and recruiting and leading volunteers, the fundraiser will hone speaking, writing, and leadership abilities while moving the Commonwork Trust closer to its financial goals.

The ideal candidate will be motivated, professional, and organised with a strong track record of successful fundraising. We’re looking for someone who believes in the mission of the Commonwork Trust and has exceptional drive for furthering our fundraising efforts as well as strategising and delivering on new ones.

• Fundraising experience – you will have at least three years of experience at developing a fundraising strategy and understanding how different income streams operate with a strong track record in securing income 

• Demonstrable experience in securing funding – you will have experience in identifying key voluntary income streams and securing funding support from trusts and foundations, and be comfortable with ‘making the ask’ of wealthy individuals 

• Grant funding – you will have a strong track record of identifying, securing and monitoring grant funding. 

• Communication skills – you will have excellent communication and relationship-building skills 

• Leadership skills – you will have experience in leading and motivating colleagues and volunteers 

• Charity experience – you will have worked in the charitable sector, preferably with a focus on environmental issues and have an understanding of how a mission-based organisation operates and the wider sector considerations that a charity operates within 

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)

• Certification, diploma, or similar qualification in fundraising would be a bonus

Job Title: Money & Energy Adviser

Reports to: Money & Energy Advice Service Lead

To deliver money and energy advice service for kidney patients struggling with their energy and water bills and other costs of living challenges. You will provide subject matter expert support within our Patient Support Services team, and will work closely with our Patient Support & Advocacy Officers to develop and grow this service in your area.

Summary
To raise awareness of the service and build strong relationships with kidney patients, professionals, and other kidney stakeholder groups in your defined geographic region.

Key responsibilities
• With support, establish the Kidney Care UK Money & Energy Advice Service in the region for patients and carers at risk of fuel poverty to access independent support on money and energy matters
• Responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the Money & Energy Advice Service across the region, effectively managing an ongoing caseload
• Provide practical advice to patients, assessing their needs and identifying sources of support to resolve financial, practical and psychosocial challenges.

• Activities will include creating budget plans, completing income maximisation checks and benefit claims, carrying out switching exercises and Home Energy Surveys (this is not an exclusive list of tasks)
• Responsible for identifying cases where FSA approved advice is required, and supporting patients in the referral of their case to our approved partner organisation or other appropriate regional/national services

• Act as a gateway to local information and access to:

• Kidney Care UK Patient Grants service, raising awareness of the service and supporting applications
• Kidney Care UK Patient Support & Advocacy Service, to ensure patients have access to reliable and accurate patient information relating to kidney disease, patient pathways, models of care, and patient choice
• Kidney Care UK Counselling Service and other appropriate services to meet patients’ emotional and physiological needs

• Work closely with local Kidney Care UK Patient Support & Advocacy Officers to ensure that patients receive expert advice in all areas of need, with smooth, effective handovers ensuring that patients feel supported and part of the Kidney Care UK ‘family’ at all times
• Maintain records on the Kidney Care UK database to support service delivery and communications with patients, and facility effective reporting to Kidney Care UK and our funders
• Raise awareness of Kidney Care UK and the benefit of its full range of Patient Support Services amongst kidney patients, their families, carers and professionals across the region
• Provide insight on patients’ concerns and unmet needs to inform Kidney Care UK research, campaigns, and new service development activity
