Support Line Worker, £30,000 - £32,000 per annum, pro-rata. Part-time, remote working.
 

The Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre (Rape Crisis South London) is looking for a committed, resilient and skilled helpline support worker to provide high quality emotional support, information and signposting in our Support Line team.  
 

The post-holder will provide emotional support, information and signposting to survivors of any form of sexual violence, of any gender, aged 16 and upwards, and their supporters via phone calls and webchats. Support Line Workers also provide support to colleagues and volunteers as part of their daily duties. Successful applicants will have experience of providing emotional support on a telephone helpline or experience providing support to survivors of sexual violence. You will need to have good knowledge and understanding of the impact of sexual violence and an intersectional feminist and anti-oppressive approach. 
 

We will provide the successful candidate with: 
 

• Monthly clinical supervision 
• A salary of £30 – 32,0000 per annum, dependent on experience, pro rata

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're hiring a Deputy Service Manager to join our service in Luton. You will be based across two locations, one which is a residential project, providing accommodation to homeless families with support needs including expectant mothers, mothers with up to two children under the age of 10, or single women aiming to have guardianship of their children. The other service provides temporary accommodation to single homeless males who have various support needs which could include mental health, substance misuse, and offending history.

You will be based across both services, providing overall leadership and management of your service projects and teams who deliver high quality, trauma informed support to residents. Your role will ensure full contract and regulatory compliance, being a role model and leader for your team to achieve service KPI's and other requirements for the service.

The role includes:

• Line Management and Leadership, supporting your team providing advice, guidance and support throughout their employment lifecycle

Key Responsibilities

Oversight of Spear Programme

• Lead group sessions of around 10 young people each, using coaching skills to transform attitudes to their own ability and the workplace, and to raise their awareness and maximise potential in stepping into the world of work.​
• Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Coach.​
• Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report KPIs on recruitment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees to Resurgo and the Spear Trust, as well as their ongoing progress and sustainment of work or education.

Partnership liaison and relationship management

• Establish the primary local referral agencies and build and implement a strategy for developing relationships with them to ensure recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme is effective. ​
• Maintain and develop relationships with local partners to form a strong referral network.​

Line Management and training

• Manage the Spear Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development.
• Be line managed by Resurgo to support with the set-up and ongoing operations of the centre and report back on KPIs.

Church Community

• The Spear Centre Manager is directly employed by The Mount, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community.
• You will be required to establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement and backing of church members, and help to establish a strong presence at the church to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme.
• Ensure the Spear programme is a key missional feature of the work of the church; this may involve attending church events and speaking at services.

Site management and set-up

• Work with the Church to set up the training room and IT infrastructure for the new Spear Centre in advance of opening.​
• Liaise with relevant staff locally on-site issues and work to resolve them as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training room are safe and tidy working spaces in line with health and safety policies.​.
• Other ad hoc church responsibilities from time to time.

Digital Campaigns Officer

Position Objective:

To implement and support digital campaign advocacy programmes for PETA and other PETA entities, including e-mail marketing programmes and online petitions

• Support the advocacy e-mail programme by writing, building, and/or sending e-mail marketing broadcasts on behalf of PETA and other PETA entities  to increase engagement with or awareness of campaigns
• Maintain and regularly update digital campaign action alerts, which may include updating campaign targets, ensuring the accuracy of the text, and writing campaign updates
• Build and publish action alerts or petitions on PETA’s and other PETA entities’ websites
• Analyse and test the success of e-mail engagement
• Track and analyse the success of action alerts

About the job

Due to a restructure, we are seeking a confident and experienced Modern Slavery Case Worker with a wide range of skills and importantly, a ‘can do’ approach.

As the Modern Slavery Case Worker, you will work as a member of a close and supportive team providing a safe environment for vulnerable female adults and their dependents up to the age of 1 from outside the UK who have experienced trauma and exploitation. You will provide high quality practical and emotional support to the residents within a risk assessed safe house setting. The role will involve assisting clients with increasing practical skills and self-confidence to empower and enable independent and safe living.

You will be expected to line manage Case Worker Assistants and bank staff. Additionally, you will be allocated a caseload of up to 5 service users to support.

This role is mainly Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and weekend shifts. You will be required to be part of an on-call rota and able to get to and from the project if it is necessary to attend the project whilst on-call.

You must have experience of working with vulnerable adults, the ability to work within a ‘risk associated’ environment and, ideally, experience of working within a residential or community setting with non-UK citizens.

Administration / IT skills and health and safety awareness are essential. Modern Day Slavery, Immigration and knowledge of the asylum process would be desirable. Please also note that there is a substantial amount of administrative work involved in this role.
