Fundraising – we are keen to hear from candidates with significant fundraising experience at large UK charities. Current knowledge of fundraising strategy and best practice is essential. It is also desirable to have experience in one or more of, regular giving, major giving, or trusts and foundations, with a strong preference for experience in donor acquisition, preferably in the environmental space.
Conservation – we are particularly interested in candidates from high-biodiversity countries in tropical regions with first-hand experience of conservation on the frontline. In particular, we’re looking for fresh perspectives on one or more of the following: strategic landscape prioritisation and planning, area-based mechanisms for effective land protection, community-led conservation, innovation in conservation, and/or payment for ecosystem services. We would especially welcome applications from early-career conservation professionals to complement our existing Trustee expertise.
We would also welcome applications from people open to taking on the role of Chair in the future and those interested in chairing sub-committees or advisory panels.

Hope Valley Climate Action (HVCA) is based in the Peak District and aims to combat climate change by raising public awarness, taking local action through practical projects and advocating for policy policy change. The role: Trustee / Chair
As Chair of Trustees, you will play a crucial role in steering our mission forward and ensuring effective governance and leadership within HVCA. The Chair will work closely with the Board of Trustees, volunteers, and other key stakeholders to oversee the charity’s strategy, governance, and accountability. We are a warm, friendly and experienced group - open to discussions around how the role can be managed and offering flexibility, including potential role-share.
You will ideally live, work, or be familiar with the Hope Valley and able to attend meetings in person peridically (most work is done remotely).

The Epsom and Ewell Talking Newspaper (EETN) is currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to be responsible for seeking promotional opportunities to recruit more Listeners and when necessary specific Volunteers in addition to organise our talking newspaper events.
These currently are a stall at the Banstead Summer Fair and a Christmas party for the 36 Volunteers. We have historically had an Awareness Day in the Ashley Centre and when required, an event to present Long Service certificates to Volunteers.

The role involves:
- Communicating with the organisers of events, including booking and liaising with venues.
- Promoting the EETN at new events organised by other outside bodies.
- Coordinating the EETN volunteers’ rota to run the stalls, organise activities and catering if required. Ensuring stalls are correctly set up, cleared away and all equipment returned to storage after an event.
- Managing the budget and monitoring expenses, including liaising with the EETN treasurer.

Community engagement will take place across all 10 districts of the city (support with travel arrangements and costs will be provided) and will involve working as part of a small team. Work will be carried out at different venues and locations including:
• Service user support groups, steering groups, meetings etc. accessed via our Third Sector partner organisations.
• Events: freshers fairs, open days etc.
• Public Venues: Hospitals, GP surgeries, Community Centres etc
Tasks include:
• Collect people’s experiences of health and social care services, at focus group meetings and events.
• Help ensure those who are at risk of health inequalities are listened to, involved, and empowered to help influence better services
• Supporting investigations guided by our research team.
• Promoting Healthwatch Birmingham within the community and raising awareness of our services.

• Are interested in ensuring that everyone’s stories are listened to and shared.
• Are keen to learn more about their local community and broaden their knowledge of health and social care systems.
• Understand diversity and are flexible in their approach to meeting the needs of a wide range of individuals.
• Want to promote equality and improve the health and wellbeing of their local community.
