Overview:

Following the successful application of a National Lottery award, we are seeking two dedicated and compassionate Peer Support Group Development Officers to set up and sustain local peer support groups for people living with and affected by prostate cancer. These roles focus on building on our established networks to expand peer support in defined areas, facilitating group formation, and enhancing service delivery through strategic outreach and resource development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Group formation and support: Oversee the setup and operation of 10-12 self-sustaining and independent peer support groups within your assigned region across the lifetime of the three-year project. Ensure smooth delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of group activities. Support existing group leaders and organisers to reach more people living with and affected by prostate cancer with tools and resources.
• Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, train, and support volunteer Support Group Leaders. Assist in the co-production of training materials and resources, aimed at creating self-sustainable groups.
• Community Engagement: Conduct outreach to map existing support services and facilitate the integration of these services with the peer support groups. Host local engagement events to boost volunteer recruitment.
• Data and Case Management: Use a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to support high-quality volunteer and case management, ensuring accurate data collection to support service outcomes.
• Training and Development: Develop and deliver tailored training programmes for volunteers based on the specific needs of Group Leaders and Organisers. Set up regional forums for sharing best practices and peer networking. Encourage use of Members Portal to share good practice.
• Documentation and Compliance: Ensure compliance with Best Practice Guidance document. Ensure adherence to safeguarding policies to maintain safe governance of peer support groups.

• Strong Facilitation and Communication Skills: Ability to engage effectively with diverse groups. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Administration and compliance

• Assist in controlling shop expenditure through effective cost control of weekly expenses.

Summary job description

Our Technical Knowledge team oversees Blue Ventures’ technical pillars (Secure Rights, Community-Based Fisheries Management, Food Security and Financial Inclusion) and supports the use of data for decision-making, providing tools, training, and guidance to partners and Blue Ventures’ staff around the world. This team integrates expertise and deep practical experience with pragmatism and a desire to enable others to deliver lasting change, by distilling global best practices and knowledge into usable tools, appropriate training, and responsive guidance and support. The team is also responsible for delivering peer learning exchanges and knowledge-sharing events both online and face-to-face across the organisation, in addition to overseeing technical publications.

We are currently recruiting for an exceptional individual to be part of this global team, leading a critical pillar of the strategy on Community-Based Fisheries Management. This individual would oversee the development, refinement, and roll out of tools and training to support partners working with communities around the world as they establish community-based fisheries management and locally managed marine areas. The Training, Education and Development (TED) Team has been established to promote and deliver high-quality evidenced-based education to external stakeholders and internally to Hospice staff, which will help transform the care of people in the communities we serve and beyond. The TED Education Centre staff provide essential support to the rest of the TED Team and are integral to the smooth running and day-to-day operation of the Education Centre and TED service. The Role

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work across both Houses of Parliament to ensure that our updated Safeguarding policy is effectively implemented and embedded across our varied teams.

The Parliamentary Estate is a mixed-use site, with many different activities involving a wide range of individuals: from members and staff of both Houses, to visitors on democratic access tours and attending proceedings, school children on educational tours, VIP visitors and parliamentary delegations, and tourists from all over the world.

You will need to work with teams across Parliament to understand these different activities, assess the risks of harm to children and adults at risk, the likelihood of those risks materialising, and how Parliament can effectively mitigate them. You will lead in the roll out of our updated Safeguarding policy alongside the development of a network of trained safeguarding coordinators, developing a community of interest to share best practice and guidance.

Some of the responsibilities for this role include:

• To be the lead source of advice and guidance on safeguarding policy and practice within Parliament.
• Support the work of the Safeguarding board, providing expert briefing, analysis and recommendations as required by the board.
• To act as an additional Designated Safeguarding Officer, supporting the work of the existing Designated Safeguarding Leads as required.
• To lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the new safeguarding policy, using a risk-based approach to embedding it in parliamentary activities, structures and culture.
• To establish a network of local safeguarding co-ordinators across Parliamentary teams

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

• Experience of successfully implementing safeguarding policy and guidance in an environment which, like Parliament, is a mixed-use site, with a wide range of activities and stakeholders. Evidence of using a risk-based approach to deliver robust and proportionate training, procedures and guidance in support of meeting statutory obligations.
• Specialist knowledge of safeguarding relating to children and adults at risk, with a demonstrable understanding of current legislation, including core principles and current best practice, and the ability to apply this in a pragmatic way relevant to our organisational context.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to work across organisational boundaries and teams. Able to confidently engage with and influence people at all levels within the organisation, including senior leaders.
• Excellent planning and organisation skills with the ability to meet demand and deadlines whilst taking full responsibility for the quality of the work delivered both individually and through others.

The Educational Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) programme is a one-year postgraduate diploma course and is part of the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Psychological Training Programmes (previously CYP IAPT). The EMHP Programme Director role sits within the Education and Training Division at Anna Freud within the Workforce Programmes stream in Post-Graduate Studies.   

The post-holder will deliver a high quality, academically coherent and inclusive programme curriculum in line with the evolving EMHP National Curriculum, UCL and British Psychological Society (BPS) accreditation standards. 

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of implementing CBT-informed interventions for low mood and anxiety as well evidence-based interventions for behavioural difficulties in educational settings; have a strong, demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion and education and have experience in curriculum design, assessment and teaching in Higher Education.

The role is held within a supportive leadership team who are committed to improving the mental health of all children, young people and families.

Are you looking for an opportunity where your skills will make a difference in helping to end homelessness and rebuild lives? 

We’re looking for a dedicated Psychotherapist/Counselling Psychologist to provide psychological support and therapy, including group and individual work, across a number of hostels in the Camden Adult Pathway, working as part of the Women’s Safe Space Project. The team works with women experiencing multiple disadvantage, trauma and homelessness who might otherwise struggle to access support. Support needs might include alcohol/substance use, VAWG, domestic abuse and sexual exploitation.

You’ll also be responsible for co-developing and delivering a program of psychodynamic and trauma-informed therapeutic support to women in the Adult Pathway that might otherwise be excluded from traditional therapeutic services. The approach will be flexible and clients centered. This will involve one to one therapy and may include psychoeducational groups and delivering training to staff teams. In Camden and St Mungo’s our staff teams have predominantly been trained in Psychologically Informed Environments but Safe Space also recognises Trauma Informed Care as a useful framework for this project.

In order to be effective in this role, you’ll need to establish and maintain close and effective working relationships with statutory and voluntary services. You will need to be registered and accredited with UKCP / BACP or HCPC / BPS following the completion of a psychotherapeutic/psychology training. We are looking for someone who has proven experience of using a range of psychological interventions with people living with current and historic complex trauma, experience of working psychotherapeutically with people with alcohol and/or substance dependencies and a good knowledge of VAWG. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will be required to convey complex concepts in straightforward language and to form strong working relationships with the team and service users.
