Background to School Food Matters

School Food Matters (SFM) exists to teach children about food and to improve children’s access to healthy, sustainable food during their time at school. We provide fully funded food education programmes to schools. Our experience delivering these programmes informs and strengthens our campaigns, bringing the voices of children, parents and teachers to government policy.

Young Marketeers

This much-loved programme was started in London in 2012. It is now running in 12 cities across England and is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund for three years.  The programme provides hands-on opportunities for children from primary schools to grow fruit and veg from seed to sell at their local market. Young Marketeers is also a platform for School Food Matters to promote food education to schools and communities as a way to support children to live happy and healthy lives.  Children learn the art of growing veg from seed, and market traders will share their secrets on how to create a winning market stall.  Primary schools will be visited by our gardener in March/April and then again in May/June and receive further tips on how to ensure a bumper crop. And in July, they head to the market to sell their produce, and to meet the mayor!

Key Tasks include:

· Recruit four schools to take part in Young Marketeers

· Build and maintain relationships with teachers, teaching assistants and senior leaders to ensure the smooth running of the project

· Build and support relationships with contacts in partner organisations

· Schedule, organise and deliver

o One assembly in each school

o Two food growing sessions in each school

o One market trader training session in each school

o Market Day in the city centre in July for four schools

The Head of Fundraising & Communication is responsible for the generation of funds for Kintsugi Hope by a variety of income streams and for ensuring the Kintsugi Hope brand and services are marketed throughout the UK. This will involve managing a Fundraisng Manager and Communications Manager and collaborating with the wider team to ensure success. A key outcome is that the annual fundraising target is achieved. 

Main Responsibilities: 

·Lead and oversee the Fundraising & Communications function, including line management of the Fundraising Manager, and Communications Manager.

We are seeking a highly experienced Trusts and Foundations fundraising consultant to spearhead the Trusts programme at Dreams Come True. As an excellent communicator, influencer, and relationship builder, you will have a proven track record of successful fundraising in this area: ideally securing between 6 and 7-figure gifts.

The successful individual must clearly understand what is meant by a strong brand / charity proposition and have clear evidence of creating and delivering compelling cases for support, with strong examples of this resulting in successful grants to the value of £50-£100k.

Key responsibilities   

•Understand our cause, linked issues, and how these are publicly perceived 

•Horizon scan to spot social and news trends as well as potential influencer targets 

•Manage our social platforms, keeping abreast of media and public zeitgeist about our cause and related issues. Mind in Enfield and Barnet is a fast-growing charity in North London providing much needed therapy, wellbeing support and advocacy services to people with mental health problems. 

 An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced Accountant to strategically lead and develop the finance team of Mind in Enfield and Barnet.

The role will:

• lead on managing financial sustainability and the assets of the organisation
• ensure compliance to all law and regulation relating to charity finance

Finance duties

• Work with the CEO to ensure good financial practices in place and bring to the immediate attention of the CEO, SLT, the Finance & HR Committee (FHRC) and Trustees, as appropriate, any and all areas of financial and risk control.
• Manage the overall financial strategy, preparing 3-year plans, budgets, forecasts & monthly management accounts which are prepared accurately and delivered in a timely manner.
• Produce and monitor a cash flow forecast and highlight any risks to the organisation.

Main Responsibilities

As one of our regionally dispersed Community Fundraiser's, you'll be joining a busy team, where you will manage relationships with our key supporters with the primary purpose of generating income across a geographical area, through community fundraising activities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering income targets across the region by building strong relationships with individuals, local companies, community groups and volunteers, in line with our community fundraising strategy. As an experienced fundraiser, you'll be confident working towards income and expenditure targets and reporting on financial progress. It is desirable that you have managed and secured corporate partnerships and have event management knowledge, though training will be provided.

The Nystagmus Network is seeking a Development Coordinator to help build on our core services and develop new ones to meet the growing and changing needs of the nystagmus community and to support income generation to ensure those services can continue to be funded. You will need to be passionate about what we do, have the drive and enthusiasm to succeed and also be sensitive to the need to involve volunteers and stakeholders in service development and delivery.

You will plan to reach out to ever wider groups of potential beneficiaries and supporters through your communications, networking and business development skills, in collaboration with the Executive Information and Development Manager and Trustees and take the initiative on approaches to new partners. The Events team sits within the Insight and Development team whose purpose is to maximise Alzheimer’s Research UK’s income by driving collaborative, efficient and sustainable ways of working. This team of experts works alongside the whole organisation and is fundamental to the delivery of our ambition.

The Events Officer will work closely with the Events Manager in the development and delivery of a first-class events programme for Alzheimer’s Research UK, ensuring a consistent, professional, and highly engaging supporter experience. This role involves management of events, as well as supporting other teams across the organisation on their events scoping, planning and delivery.

This role is a fixed-term contract to cover a period of shared parental leave.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

· Responsible for the development, management, delivery and evaluation of events within the Events Calendar including dinners, receptions, webinars and other events as required.

· Support in management and delivery of events managed by other members of Events team as required.

· Work alongside the Events Manager and the conference working group on developing, managing and delivering the Research Conference.

· Work alongside the Events Executive to ensure the Events inbox is utilised and RSVPs are responded to in a timely manner

· Responsible for team use of the databases including Events Air, by monitoring and reporting on events activity

· Undertake any other relevant duties and projects delegated by the Events Manager in line with the responsibilities of the post

· To brief the senior leadership team, scientists, clinicians, speakers, staff and volunteers ahead of each event

· Regular attendance at events; this will include some travel and work outside of ordinary working hours

What we are looking for:

· Events industry experience, both online and in-person.

· Planning and delivery of online events via Zoom, Teams or similar.

· Confident working with computers, extensive knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.

· Co-ordinating projects or events, particularly large-scale events of 200+ attendees.

· Delivering activity against and monitoring a budget.

· Excellent project management skills.

· Ability to prioritise and effectively manage multiple tasks.

· Excellent attention to detail.

· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; with a natural ability to articulate ideas, problems and solutions.

· Good interpersonal skills, ability to interact with different stakeholders and significant stakeholder management experience.

· Strong organisational and analytical skills.

· Able to use creativity, innovation and resourcefulness to identify opportunities.

· Collaborative, sharing knowledge and ideas with colleagues.

· A proactive team player, who can work independently.

· Flexibility and adaptability within the role when required.

· Willingness and ability to work at events, often outside of core working hours.

Additional Information:

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Roles that are classed as part of the Agile ways of working are not able to claim any costs for Mileage/Travel on Public Transport, Accommodation and/or Meals.  This includes when attending the office for various meetings/events.

Salary: Circa £28,000 per annum, plus benefits

Team: Community Fundraising

Responsibilities of our Community Fundraising Officer:

• This role supports the delivery, growth and reach of community fundraising in a defined geographical location and supports the development and delivery of a local fundraising strategy in line with the organisation’s broader income generation objectives.
