Job Summary 

The purpose of this role is to bring additional operational capacity to new church plants and partnerships. This role will work across multiple partnerships on a fixed term basis to support the operational set up of new partnerships, and leading on operational improvements where there are existing processes. 

This role will be pivotal in establishing sustainable operational excellence, allowing ministry teams to undertake missional work. 

Job responsibilities 

• Support new church partnerships and plants for a fixed term to develop strong operational functions.
• Work collaboratively with parish team members, scoping the operational needs that require supporting, reviewing or developing 
• Set-up new or review existing operational functions, including: HR and recruitment, finance, reporting, fundraising, buildings management.
• Develop digital and communications processes including website development and newsletter templates.
• Lead on development and implementation of volunteer and event management systems.
• Work with parish leaders to develop operational sustainability beyond the term of this role.
• Identify operational needs in support of missional activities, supporting missional project planning and project management.
• Support with partnership reporting processes as part of the Hackney and Islington funded programme.
• Develop a pipeline of income generation opportunities, including rental agreements and grant funding.
• Develop an operational toolkit of policies and best practice for future plants and partnerships

Please note: this is a part-time role, working 21 hours across 3 days per week. Hertfordshire Mind Network’s Nightlight Service is proud to provide urgent support, crisis intervention and emotional support to people experiencing Mental health Crisis in Hertfordshire as an alternative to statutory pathways. We provide support to adults across Hertfordshire 7 days a week, 365 days a year through our Helpline, Crisis Cafes and a 24/7 Crisis House. We aim to provide a safe space for people in crisis to talk and feel supported, be listened to without judgement, access relevant support with problem solving and facilitate access to external services when necessary.

As a member of our team you will work closely with service users in crisis by using a person-centred approach as to ensure that each individual is supported with dignity and respect.

About the role

As a Crisis House Support Worker, you will work closely with other staff as part of a team in supporting the development of quality Crisis Support and instilling Hertfordshire Mind Network’s values throughout the provision.

Purpose of Post

To be a key member of staff supporting the delivery of the Nightlight mental health Crisis Service. Drawing upon your own lived and/or professional experience (where applicable,) in order to provide a mix of face-to-face, therapeutic and holistic support for those accessing overnight provision.

Key Responsibilities

• To provide emotional support and work towards developing, flexible and realistic crisis/person-centred plans with Service Users.
• To work within agreed guidelines with and for Service Users, whilst being guided and supported by Senior Staff (as well as the Leadership team) in regard to documents/plans such as: Assessments of Need, Risk, Crisis support plans and Review forms.
• To draw upon one’s own lived experience (If applicable) as appropriate, as to promote the delivery of person-centred support.
• To provide immediate and appropriate advice and information to clients as to support with crisis prevention.
• To liaise with Nightlight management and external services such as: police, ambulance service, Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team, Single Point of Access, Safeguarding Out of Hours Service, Mental Health Liaison Teams, Adult Community Mental health Services, etc. as needed in terms of accepting referrals and proactively recognising the indicators of deteriorating mental health and facilitating appropriate support.
• Complete appropriate signposting/onward referrals to both internal and external services in accordance with identified needs and risks.
• Arranging transport for service users to facilitate access to services as needed.
• Support clients with activities of daily living as required.
• Ensuring record keeping is maintained to the required standards at all times and contributing to service monitoring requirements.

Lia's Wings are looking to appoint a Fundraising Manager into a brand new role, at an incredibly exciting time for the charity. We are looking for a fundraiser who can think outside the box, solve problems, and support supporters, donors and fundraisers of all levels, to ensure we maximise every opportunity we receive. 

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, this role will be integral to the growth of Lia's Wings, and is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for a role at a small charity, where their efforts will make a real difference.

Over the last year we have had more people than ever before hoping to fundraise for Lia’s Wings, which has given rise to some fantastic new events being created (led by the charity), alongside several wonderful community-led partnerships with schools and social clubs around the UK.

Every year we also have a great uptake in classic charity challenges taking place both in the UK, and overseas, including the London Landmarks and Royal Parks Half Marathon, and the Berlin and Chicago Marathons. We have also had great success delivering our own, bespoke charity challenges, which we hope will continue into the future. For 2025, we are due to complete the second instalment of an annual Lia’s Wings Overseas Cycle Challenge, a Shark dive, Skydive and three peaks challenges, amongst many others, which this role would be expected to lead on, and develop for years to come.

Corporate Partnerships are one of our key income streams, with employees from dozens of companies supporting our events efforts. As well as managing these events, there would be a certain level of devolved account management with these partners, with the post holder becoming the primary point of contact for those firms.

We also have a growing network of community groups – including schools and social groups – who want to support Lia’s Wings as a partner charity. It is an area we would love to expand, with this role being crucial to the ongoing development of these areas.

And finally: for the past two years we have we also hosted a seasonal thank you party each Christmas (our “Jingle and Mingle”) which we hope will be another fantastic opportunity that can be developed by the right person in this role, as a real jewel in the crown of our events portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• To manage our Challenge, Community, and Special Event fundraising streams, to achieve set targets.
• To grow income sustainably from our existing portfolio of events, ensuring continued high performance, engagement, and participation.
• To design, develop, and deliver new events that are suitable for our primary supporter audiences, alongside the Head of Fundraising.
• To effectively steward fundraisers to ensure an excellent supporter experience (resulting in positive fundraising performance, and repeat year on year participation), including appropriate thanking and recognition, reporting, and feedback on outcomes of events.
• To assume account management responsibility for smaller corporate and community partnerships (primarily engaged with the charity through events fundraising)
• To ensure a strong (in-person) team and volunteer presence at events.
• To support the Head of Fundraising on the delivery of our Corporate and Community Partnerships.
• To support our Family Support Team with the delivery of our Family Fundraising programme
• To build strong relationships with existing and potential stake holders, including event committees, and Trustees of the charity.
• To proactively manage event income and expenditure budgets, monitoring and reporting to the Head of Fundraising to support forecasting and budgeting processes, including monthly reconciliation.
• To manage all stock, consumables and promotional items related to these areas of fundraising.
• To maintain comprehensive recording-keeping relating to these areas of fundraising with existing tools including our CRM system, Salesforce.
• To attend fortnightly team meetings (in person) in London, and to attend other compulsory training days or events as required
• To support the Head of Engagement in preparing digital assets, including news pieces, photography, videography, and fundraiser case studies for our website and social media
• To ensure all practices meet statutory legislation requirements including the Data Protection Act, and Fundraising Code of Practice.
• To undertake any other duties appropriate to the post that by be required by the Head of Fundraising, including supporting the fundraising team with other in-person events throughout the year as they arise.
• At all times, to act as a role model, representing the vision and values of Lia’s Wings. 

This will be a fast-paced role, and no two days may be the same, but, you will be able to go home every day knowing that you have changed, and saved the lives of children across the UK!

Care & Support Digital Technology Officer

As Care & Support Digital Technology Officer, your core responsibilities will include:

• Support teams across Care & Support (C&S) Service delivery to make the best use of technology in their work
• Collaborate with the Digital Technology team to design and deliver comprehensive guides for digital tools and systems, including Sona and the Care Planning system
• Assess the digital proficiency of staff and create tailored training plans to bridge skill gaps
• Act as the primary point of contact for C&S staff seeking support with digital tools, ensuring systems are used effectively to enhance care delivery, record-keeping, and operational efficiency
• Assist in testing and validation processes for technological systems to ensure they meet organisational requirements
• Provide first-line support for technical queries, escalating complex issues as needed
• Ensure the Care Planning system works smoothly and that care records are regularly reviewed
• Maintain the Care Planning system and support C&S Managers in auditing and reviewing care records
• Handle basic troubleshooting, resolves common systems' problems, and provides guidance to users on using systems
• Provide support during the migration to Microsoft 365
• Oversee the Digital Inbox, triaging queries for timely resolution or escalation
• Support the day-to-day administration of digital software platforms for C&S
• Participate in data cleansing and migration to maintain accurate and useful datasets
• Assist in refining system requirement specifications to align with C&S needs
• Configure and set up hardware devices for use with digital systems for the C&S services
• Attend regular meetings with Newlon IT to address support tickets related to C&S services
• Develop and update policies, procedures, and training guides to support the effective use of digital technology systems for C&S
• Document recurring issues and create self-help resources, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides
• Work closely with the Digital Technology and C&S teams to ensure systems meet operational and care delivery needs
• Liaise with SaaS providers to address complex queries and support system enhancements
• Build strong working relationships with C&S managers and staff to promote digital adoption and address challenges proactively

The Role

We are recruiting for a Community Fundraising Manager to join our Fundraising team. The role will be instrumental in the Foundation’s engagement with different communities and building fundraising partnerships across a range of community audiences, including youth and education, sports clubs, community groups and individuals doing their own activities. You will be responsible for growing our existing community products such as Turn Cricket Red as well as introducing new products and initiatives to generate growth in Community Fundraising. Part of a small team, you will develop key relationships within the RSF network of supporters, suppliers and delivery partners and manage a portfolio of events and activities for a range of supporter groups.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver the Foundations community fundraising strategy and community fundraising activities and campaigns
• Develop and implement a varied portfolio of events and community fundraising activities to meet agreed objectives, all of which reflect the spirit of the Ruth Strauss Foundation
• Ensure, with the wider Fundraising team, we meaningfully engage different communities with RSF
• Ensure relevant processes and policies are in place to deliver a successful, profitable community fundraising programme
• Oversee the management of fundraising systems, processes, and platforms in order to create the best possible experience for donors and participants
• Develop a robust supporter journey for community fundraisers which leaves them with an excellent supporter experience and generates a lifelong relationship with RSF

To achieve these objectives the post holder will be expected to:

• Plan, budget, attend and coordinate an annual community fundraising and events calendar with set objectives, budgets and KPIs for each activity
• Regularly review the performance of fundraising activities/events and products, make recommendations for improvement, and support decision-making regarding fit of new opportunities for the foundation
• Project Manage the delivery of the community fundraising programme at RSF, leading on activity working group meetings, coordinating with key stakeholders to ensure campaigns, activities and events are managed efficiently
• Work closely with the schools lead and school manager to grow our schools fundraising programme – working collaboratively so the training programme objectives are also met
• Develop a long-term growth strategy for Turn Cricket Red – focused on maximising current opportunities as well as diversifying to increase our reach
• Deliver high value supporter stewardship to increase lifetime value and impact of their fundraising
• Build and maintain a variety of community relationships across varying stakeholders and seniority, ensuring opportunities for growth are maximised
• Alongside the team, co-ordinate event/activity logistics including but not limited to sales, bookings and liaison with supporters and suppliers, material production, promotion, set up, and delivery
• Oversee relationship with key providers of event fundraising mechanisms such as online donation platforms, auction platforms and text to donate services
• Work with colleagues to ensure all events are adequately supported with staff, volunteers and hosts, and that all stakeholders receive appropriate training/ briefing and post event debriefs
• Work with the Head of MarComms and Digital to produce engaging fundraising collateral and information for event and community supporters including pre and post event communications/marketing collateral, working with external production companies where required
• Ensure all events and activities are compliant with fundraising code of conduct, GDPR and other event processes/policies
• Oversee the use of the CRM system to ensure data is recorded in compliance to Data Protection and GDPR and maximises output for supporter journeys
• Use sector trends and audience analysis to direct strategy and ensure that RSF remains innovative and at the forefront of Community fundraising

What we are looking for:

• Experience of designing and delivering successful Community fundraising events and activities
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills including budget and project management
• Ability to build excellent relationships especially with supporters, partners, ambassadors and suppliers
• Strong team player and project leadership, ensuring clear and regular communication with the RSF team and stakeholders as appropriate
• Ability to keep calm under pressure and maintain a clear head, anticipating risks and problems
• A willingness to adapt and be flexible. There are often new projects, changing priorities, and new processes that you will need to embrace
• Ability to undertake travel, including overnight stays where necessary
• Competent user of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and experience of CRM systems

Providing residential parenting assessments in cases where there are concerns about a parent’s capacity to keep a child safe.
