Who we are
Help Us deliver wellbeing and good mental health
We provide a range of information and support services for people with experience of mental ill health problems and work in partnership with other providers to improve wellbeing within our communities. We have projects covering communities within the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest. We reach around 4,200 service users each year, either directly or in partnership with our City and Hackney Wellbeing Network partners. We take a holistic approach, with services for those in immediate need as well as those needing help to sustain their wellbeing.
We recruit a range of professionals from entry level trainee roles to senior practitioners and encourage staff development and progression within the charity and beyond. We currently have around 95 employees plus volunteers and sessional staff, based in locations at Tudor Road in South East Hackney and The Recovery Hub close to Homerton Hospital.

Our main office at Tudor Road, Hackney, is 5 minutes walk from London Fields Station and is served by a number of bus routes. Hackney Central is within 15 minutes walk.

The work can be challenging, but it is equally rewarding. There is a strong team ethos and we hold regular all staff meetings and social events. Staff wellbeing is a priority for us, and we aim to make sure that staff are supported to meet the challenges of the job and working arrangements are sustainable.
We are positive about flexible working such as part-time working and job-sharing, including at senior levels.
We promote the rights of people with disabilities and we are positive about employing people with experience of disability. We work with national Mind and other charities to improve employment opportunities for people with disabilities, and to support them in work.
We encourage all staff to develop their own wellbeing plan which will include acting on any adjustments needed to enable staff with disabilities to overcome any barriers to being fully productive at work.
We have an Employee Assistance Scheme and hold regular mindfullness lunchtime sessions and yoga classes which are designed to promote wellbeing.
Our recruitment process
We have a policy of open recruitment which means that in normal circumstances all permanent jobs will be advertised publicly and all applications will be considered in the same way, using the same criteria.
Every job has a job description which summarises the main purpose and responsibilities of the role, and a person specification which specifies the criteria we will use to select the best candidate, so that the process is entirely transparent.
