We are currently seeking a highly motivated, confident individual with excellent organisational skills to take on maternity cover for the role of head of marketing, advertising and events.

Reporting to the executive director, you will be responsible for the sale of advertising space on our website, through email blasts to our mailing lists, via our weekly emails and within our quarterly print publication. You will also be responsible for the line management of event support, while managing our event programme which consists of up to 19 digital and in-person events per year. You will also be responsible for line management of the subscriptions manager, overseeing concurrent marketing projects, targeting key subscription areas, and ensuring a high level of renewals amongst our subscribers. Alongside this, there will be opportunities to represent Alliance at external events both in the UK and abroad. 

The successful candidate will have strong, persuasive oral and written communication skills, enjoy working in a small team, and have excellent organisation and time-management. The candidate will be a willing participant in all APT discussions and play an active part in driving the organisation forward.

Marketing & sales

• Lead responsibility for the marketing strategy to grow the circulation of Alliance
• Direct line management of subscriptions manager to ensure the implementation of this strategy

Minds Up is a growing mental health and wellbeing training programme for young people, delivered in schools across five south east London boroughs by South East London (SEL) Mind. The programme aims to increase young people’s awareness of mental health, help them recognise the signs if they are experiencing poor mental health and help them take action to protect their own mental health and boost their wellbeing.

We are looking for an administrator to help support the effective operation of the Minds Up Service. The role holder will need first rate communication skills, with a genuine passion for supporting young people’s mental health. Applicants will be able to demonstrate skills in efficiently managing a central inbox and calendar, as well as experience as the first point of contact for public enquiries.

Role Purpose

The Head of Research and Delivery will lead the delivery of programmes, client-facing projects and research initiatives for GDI Hub CIC, working across the key themes of Disability Inclusion, Inclusive Design and Cities, Climate Change, Gender, Financial Inclusion and Assistive Technology. It is expected that the role holder will have considerable experience across at least two of these themes and an appetite for both broadening and deepening their knowledge across the others. They will also collaborate with research leads and teams based across GDI Hub including the Academic Research Centre (ARC) at UCL.

This is a senior, strategic, role responsible for team management and leading key projects, leading client, donor and government relationships, and providing strategic subject matter expertise. It would suit someone with a proven-track record in the sector and requires a strong aptitude for strategic thinking, delivery management and the creation of tenable and evidence-based recommendations. They will be creative and collaborative with a drive to make the world a fairer place, inspiring others to do the same.

They will be responsible for delivery on projects and research under their remit and contribute to the development of new projects and research, working closely with partners and clients. Current funders, partners and clients include the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, Asian Development Bank, Climate Investment Funds, UNICEF, Carbon Trust and Expo City Dubai. This will involve leading a permanent team of six, which is expected to grow to eight by Q4 2024-25, and any external consultants brought online as required to deliver across a portfolio of work.

Role Responsibilities

Project and Research Delivery and Management

• Lead a growing portfolio of projects under the Research and Delivery team including a current portfolio of circa 10 active projects.
• Leadership of Global Thematic Goods sub-programme under the AT2030 programme, with direct project leadership of 2 workstreams (inclusive infrastructure and inclusive climate resilience).
• Lead the intellectual and strategic management of project delivery, ensuring that projects deliver clear messages aligned to programme targets, client needs and project scope and deliver impact.
• Take overall responsibility for the quality and timeliness of project delivery and deliverables, ensuring project management processes and procedures are being implemented correctly and outputs are to the highest standard in line with GDI Hub style.
• Provide overall research leadership in GDI HUB CIC, instilling academic rigour and driving innovative and inclusive research, managing researchers to deliver high quality outputs that are evidence-based, meeting internal/external expectations and tailored to target audiences.
• Plan and manage workplans, including emergent risks, challenges, change requests, budgets, travel, schedules, and scope.

Client Management and Reporting

• Manage and develop relationships with partners and stakeholders, to support effective collaboration.
• Provide leadership in client facing discussions, understanding needs and priorities, and linking these to project and team delivery plans.
• Engage with emerging opportunities as appropriate, leading proposal development with the wider team.
• Service project reporting requirements and instruct timely invoicing against project agreements.

Support Communications and External Engagement

• Strategic leadership of external engagement across their portfolio, attending and speaking at events, conferences and project workshops as needed, to drive impact of our work.
• Provide input to communications content and the events pipeline to further raise the profile, reach and impact of GDI Hub’s work.
• Write insight reports, blogs or other content to support communications and external engagement as required.
• Highlight communication, networking and new work opportunities arising from project and client engagements.

Internal Team Management

• Manage and support the research and delivery team ensuring team members are informed, connected and working as a team, ensuring shared understanding of projects and individual delivery responsibilities.
• Work closely with the COO and Programme Management team to ensure sustainable delivery and resource management processes are followed.
• Ensure team resources are used in accordance with project budgets and actively tracked throughout delivery. Review resource capacity and factor into any new project bids or repeat business opportunities.
• Direct line management of Senior Inclusive Design Manager, Senior Financial Inclusion Researcher, Senior Social Researcher and Inclusive Climate Researcher. Support the team in their own line management responsibilities in line with planned activity.

We are hiring! We have a job vacancy for an Early Intervention Project Worker to join Shine.

Shine has a membership of over 14,000 members living with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus and associated conditions and over 6,500 associated members.

Our Little Stars project for 0–12-year-olds has been established for over 5 years supporting younger members and their families with their diagnosis and beyond. We also have a growing Teen membership known as FIRE (Friendship, Independence, Resilience, Equality) Working alongside our multi skilled, established team, you will be supporting members across all age groups and building on the great foundations already in place. 

We are looking for an Early Intervention Project Worker who can cover the South of England, primarily you will be home based, supporting members through phone calls and using online platforms.  You will be required to attend clinics, events and meet members one to one where necessary within your allocated area and occasionally across wider areas and nationally. 

Purpose of the role 

• To deliver Shine's Little Stars (funded by The National Lottery Community Fund) project for 0–12-year-olds, supporting early years and younger members with their families, their diagnosis and beyond across the Southern Region. To provide advice, support and guidance to enable people with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus to access the correct benefits to become financially stable, the right services to improve their health and well-being, and to better co-ordinate their support and independence through a variety of methods. 

• To improve the life wellbeing of children 0-12 years old with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus by promoting independence and providing them and their families with early intervention support. 

• To create a community whereby those affected by spina bifida and hydrocephalus can connect with others, are empowered through knowledge and feel confident in the support networks surrounding them.

You’ll be helping to launch and shape an innovative Health and Wellbeing Coaching & Social Prescribing Service based at St Georges Hospital within the Red Cell Pain Management & Psychology department and you will be employed by Merton Connected - Merton Social Prescribing. In this role, you will be at the heart of a life-changing initiative, working with patients affected by sickle cell disease and thalassemia. You’ll be helping them connect to vital community services, manage their health, and reduce isolation.

About the Role:

As a Health & Wellbeing Coach and Social Prescriber, you will:

• Use your coaching skills to support patients in developing self-management strategies, improving their health, and achieving personal goals.
• Help reduce clinical workload by linking patients with local non-clinical services such as social activities, education, housing, employment support, and more.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and local agencies to build a robust referral network, ensuring patients have access to comprehensive support.
• Play a vital role in promoting the benefits of social prescribing and coaching to both clinical staff and patients, fostering a personalised care approach.

You’ll be joining a team committed to making lasting improvements in health outcomes, helping patients regain control of their lives, and offering support that goes beyond traditional medical treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage with individuals living with long-term health conditions and connect them with community-based services that address their holistic needs.
• Offer one-on-one coaching sessions, helping patients identify goals and build self-confidence in managing their health and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with local voluntary, social care, and health services to ensure a seamless patient experience.
• Promote awareness of the social determinants of health, such as housing, employment, and social isolation, and help patients overcome these barriers.
• Maintain accurate records of interactions and service delivery to contribute to evaluation and reporting.

What We’re Looking For:

We’re seeking someone with:

• 2+ years of experience in health coaching, motivational interviewing, counselling or a similar framework that supports individuals in making health, lifestyle and other changes.
• A strong understanding of personalised care, person-centred approaches, and the ability to support self-management.
• Proven experience working in multi-disciplinary teams across health, social care, and community settings.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust with a diverse range of people.
• A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Our Direct Marketing Team is part of this department, and recruits and develops supporters. We are seeking a Direct Marketing Officer to join this team to manage and deliver a series of high standard direct marketing campaigns across our Regular Giving programme. This individual will be recruiting, retaining and upgrading regular donors to generate income through a variety of direct marketing methods such as direct dialogue, DRTV, digital, and direct mail. They will be encouraging regular monthly gifts or support via one of our main products such as general Regular Giving and Sponsorship, our Lottery, Value Exchange programme and other methods of committed giving as they arise.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Building Compliance Advisor. You will be responsible for ensuring that Refuge complies with statutory building and property obligations and monitor changes in industry standards and regulators requirements. The post holder will also monitor obligations in property agreements and support corporate services and provide technical advice which may require research. Since 1991 we have reduced the rate of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome by 82% and saved the lives of over 32,000 babies. But our work is not over, as three babies still die suddenly and unexpectedly a week. 

As the Supporter Engagement Officer, you’ll create opportunities for our amazing supporters to connect with and drive our work through various means of individual giving. You'll create engaging communucations, ensuring that our donors feel valued and understand the impact they're having on babies and their families, and you'll develop key appeals and individual giving activity to drive growth in these income streams.

You will:

1. Manage the development of individual giving income streams, including legacy giving, regular giving, one-off gifts, in memory giving and new products
2. Co-ordinate key engagement activity, such as the annual supporter Thankathon and Impact Report
3. Oversee administration and stewardship of individual giving income
4. Manage the promotion, sale and distribution of Lullaby Trust merchandise

This role can be offered as a hybrid role (with approximately one day per week in our London office) or fully remote, with occasional visits to the office for meetings or staff days as necessary; the two salary ranges above reflect this. The 21 hours could be worked across 3-5 days per week.
