Job Summary

This role is an expansion of our employment pathway and will be our first dedicated employment coach for our students.

PiP has developed a unique reputation for our experience and quality of employment support for adults with learning disabilities. This has led to an increased number of referrals with a focus on employment, an expansion of our in-house social enterprise capacity, and more employers keen to work alongside us to diversify their staff base.

PiP is keen to respond to and meet this demand. This role for us is the next step in doing so, allowing us to increase our job coaching capacity and providing more dedicated resource for students on their employment journey. As to date our coaching has been delivered across our existing staff team.

What You’ll Need

• Working with people with learning disabilities, or a similar client group
• Experience of training, education, or employment support delivery
• Experience of job coaching or supporting work placements
• Understanding of and commitment to a person-centred approach
• An understanding of the needs of employers and ability to articulate the benefits of having a diverse workforce to businesses
• Able to establish, develop and maintain constructive and professional relationships, both internal and external, with a wide variety of professional and carers
• Evidenced experience of success in building strong and positive relationships with a variety of people and organisations

What We Offer:

· The salary for this role is circa £29,500 dependent on experience with incremental pay progression.

You'll get 25 days holiday + bank holidays ever year. We're closed for Christmas but the rest of the year you may take leave whenever you wish. 

· An extra day of annual leave for each year you've worked with us up to another 5 (30 in total)

· We offer a travel subsidy of up to £7.50 per day to help with the cost of commuting.

Senior Young People Support Worker

About the Role

The Senior Young People Support Worker is responsible for contributing to the effective and safe delivery of the service on a day-to-day basis. You will hold responsibility for the safety and well-being of all clients, volunteers, visitors and staff in the service. You will lead in ensuring that the housing management is properly maintained and the service supports clients to sustain their tenancy agreement, develop skills and resilience, and participate in positive and successful move-on.

Key responsibilities include:

About the role

We’re looking for a creative Senior Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser, who wants to grow their existing experience of working with five and six figure asks to grow their skills by supporting the senior team with preparing compelling proposals to secure funding of 6 and 7 figure bids. Change Mental Health is a leading national mental health charity providing unique support to people with severe and enduring mental ill health. With over 50 years’ experience across Scotland, we believe people affected by poor mental health and illness deserve the highest quality of support in the community and that every person has the right to be valued and to share in the opportunities, challenges, and joys of everyday life. 

The Community Link Worker service collaborates with selected GP surgeries, supporting adults over the age of 18 through social prescribing. Referrals are received from the GP to our Community Link Workers when there might be a concern caused by social factors, rather than a medical problem. The service focuses on improving health outcomes for people experiencing stressors in their lives due to social problems, which could lead to poor mental health.

As a Community Link Worker, you will work directly with people referred to the Community Link Worker Service from their GP Practice who require immediate or on-going emotional, practical or vocational support in order to deliver the best possible health outcomes. 

This post works directly with people using the service to develop and review personal support plans. You will work closely with other members of the Community Link Worker team, colleagues in Primary Care and representatives of community-based groups and organisations, to achieve outcomes as defined by your line manager. 

Within the Community Link Worker team there is a clear line management structure which supports and shapes the practice. The post will contribute to an environment where people can improve their health outcomes, establish improved connections in their communities, and enhance their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Work as part of a team building positive working relationships

·        Work closely with colleagues in Primary Care

·        Coordinate and refer service users to resources in the local community and to statutory and non-statutory services as appropriate

·        In partnership with service users, design, implement, and review outcome focussed development plans to enable service users to achieve their identified goals

·        Employ a number of appropriate intervention strategies including positive communication skills

·        Ensure ongoing risk assessment is integral to my practice to ensure the wellbeing of service users

·        Utilise group work skills which bring people together in a safe environment 

·        Awareness of appropriate professional boundaries including confidentiality 

·        Understanding of the requirements of Health and Safety in the workplace and follow Change Mental Health policies 

·        Ensure that careful and ongoing review systems are in place and maintained

Essential Criteria:

·        Educated to SVQ level 2 or have relevant experience working in health and social care

·        Able to plan and prioritise workload

·        Professional self-awareness and able to seek support and advice from my line manager appropriately and participate in supervision and support meetings positively

What we do

Time & Talents is a lively, busy community centre in the heart of Rotherhithe, SE16. Set in a leafy heritage building, and ‘T&T2’, our second venue in Surrey Quays Shopping Centre, we offer something for everyone. With a history of 137 years of supporting people of all ages in Rotherhithe and Bermondsey, we bring people together for mutual support, fun and friendship, with a wide range of services and activities for older people and other adults, along with volunteering and children and families’ projects. Since resuming services post-Covid, we have realized the needs and wants of the community have shifted from our previous offer. We have a strong Community Development programme to connect with and rebuild our offer, including some big changes to pre-Covid ways of working. Building on a strong track record, we intend to continue working with the community to deliver activities and events that meet local needs while also providing opportunities for fun and friendship. Our community offer includes activities connecting children to nature and tackling food insecurity; accessible community fitness and wellbeing activities; and intergenerational activities and events. We are re-developing our offer whilst staying focused on our aims: ensuring that everyone feels part of a community and that no one is isolated or lonely. We are looking for a fresh pair of eyes to help us evolve this work.

The role

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

• Strategic development and oversight of community programmes for children, adults and across multiple generations

• Leadership and line management of team; oversight of sessional facilitators and contractors used by team

• Setting programme budget and service targets; monitoring and evaluation to ensure delivery against these

• Playing a key part in building, broadening and developing new funding for these programmes and maintaining relationships with current funders

• Lead role in planning and execution of community events

• Development of corporate partnerships and CSR relationships

• Responsibility for general outward communications, including social media

• Contributing to the wider organisation as a member of the Senior Management Team

• Acting as Deputy Safeguarding Lead

About you

You have a track record of developing and delivering excellent community programmes in the third sector. You’re a seasoned team leader with experience of change management. You have an outwardlooking approach and are passionate about building programmes with community buy-in. This 12 month project will help load accurate new and historic data onto our new CRM, MS Dynamics. As a Young Persons Link Worker, you will be providing social prescribing support to young people, and/or their families. The aim of the role is to help clients improve their health and wellbeing by connecting them to community support. Skills and Experience:  

• At least 2 years’ experience in a role that involves delivering face-to-face support in a relevant health, social care or youth work environment

About the Project

Herts Mind Network (HMN) has formed a partnership with Hertfordshire Partnership Foundation Trust (HPFT) to deliver a one-to-one outreach service for people who are in hospitals across Hertfordshire.

This is a new dual diagnosis arm of the project based at Lister Hospital working in A&E departments and hospital wards facilitating hospital discharge for people with a mental health and/or drugs and alcohol need.

About the Role:

The Bounce Back Worker will be based at Lister Hospital and HMN Centres, promoting joint working between Lister Hospital staff and HMN, creating a seamless pathway into community support for clients recovering from mental ill health.

The aims of the Bounce Back service are; to provide up to 16 sessions of emotional and practical support, advice and information to patients. We will visit patients on the ward and continue the sessions in the local community and in patients homes once discharged. We will facilitate a smooth and timely hospital discharge.

The Bounce Back Worker will work with the HMN Community Outreach Teams and the hospital staff to ensure patients are offered advice, information, and holistic support. The Bounce Back worker will use a recovery orientated approach working with patients on the ward, and in the local community, including in people’s homes.  The recovery approach includes empathy, warmth, acceptance, authenticity, compassion and humanity.

Key Responsibilities

• To receive referrals from the ward teams at Lister Hospital and other appropriate hospitals across Hertfordshire.
• To manage and prioritise all administration tasks associated with the service.
• To build strong relationships with staff at Lister Hospital and Mental Health Teams across Hertfordshire.
• To work in partnership with other agencies.
• To establish a strong presence on the ward, working at the hospital when required.
• Ensure a direct community service is in place which encourages, motivates and builds patients self-esteem and confidence. This will include goal setting and support with social and practical skills development.
• To assist patients to access appropriate services and community resources within the local community, accompanying patients to attend appointments where this aids ongoing recovery.
• To work with key staff within the hospital to ensure that vulnerable person’s cases are monitored and risks evaluated.
• To work with HMN staff in other services in order to make onward referrals to other projects.
• Liaise with appropriate HPFT staff to ensure that individuals are assessed for personal budgets to support with any longer term needs.
• Support individuals to develop sustainable local social networks, both through our HMN Wellbeing Centres and other community services and resources.

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to coordinate an 18-month project exploring how we can operationalise a new in-work poverty benchmark for employers in London. This benchmark, developed by the Social Market Foundation, has the potential to improve the lives of low paid workers, building on the success of the Living Wage campaigns

The in-work poverty benchmark project is a new and exciting pilot project at the Living Wage Foundation. We want this person to build a case for employers going further than our existing accreditations and taking a more holistic approach to tackling in work poverty. This role would help us develop the pilot through employer case studies and extensive stakeholder engagement with a view to launching a new vehicle to recognise employers who adopt the in-work poverty benchmark.

Three key parts of the role would be working with:

- Our Membership team and our Operations and Insights team: to scope out and enhance their capacity to support employers to implement the benchmark through e.g. workshops, provision of guidance and /or new ways of working with employers.

- The cross organisational Making London a Living Wage City (MLLWC) team to build upon the successes and networks of this project and align where helpful to encourage London employers to go further

- London based community organisers to ensure that the experiences and stories of low paid workers are a primary driver of the case for change and how we develop this work.

The ideal candidate would be a proactive and experienced project manager with experience of building and implementing new products, projects or services. They should have excellent communication skills and a track record of engaging diverse stakeholders and building a network.

· Design and develop the recognition mechanism and support programme for employers who sign up to the in-work poverty benchmark.

· Provide regular progress reports and deliver agreed project milestones including events, reports and other agreed outputs.

· Oversee the project being integrated into our CRM system and developing robust project management systems.

Learning, expertise, wellbeing and inclusion

· Conduct desk research, stakeholder interviews and organise events as required to inform the project. Manage research partners to conduct additional research as required.

· Monitor, review, evaluate and write up pilot progress with each employer using qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods.

· Working with others to identity and share learning on how to mobilise employer action to tackle poverty, considering this in the development of the in-work poverty benchmark.

· Develop and host employer facing events to gain insight and test appetite to support the development of this work.

· Design and facilitate employer workshops and employee focus groups to identify best practice and shared learning.

· Produce a final report and recommendations for how the work might be taken forward at the conclusion of the project, presenting this to relevant stakeholders.

Communications

· Oversee the collation and dissemination of research and evidence to build the case for the in-work poverty benchmark. Work with the Living Wage Foundation Communications and Research team to enable this.

· Develop the support we offer Living Wage Employers that are interested in implementing the in-work poverty benchmark and lead the production and design of research reports, toolkits, best practice guides and other resources.

· Promote the Living Wage Foundation to build our reputation as a leader in good work practices for low paid workers, including launching research and reports and celebrating progress made.

· Represent the Living Wage Foundation at meetings, events and conference to build awareness and support for our work. 

Develop and manage internal relationships:

· Build and manage strong relationships across the LWF and wider Citizens UK teams for effective collaboration and to support development of this work.

· Work closely with community organisers in London to ensure the voices of low paid workers are a leading influence on this project.

· Contribute to the LWF and Citizens UK Senior Management meetings and cross organisational working groups.

Our economic justice work focuses on developing policies and campaigns that press for meaningful change on issues related to the global economy. We have focused on campaigns for a living wage, and on the protection of workers’ rights in corporate global supply chains, we also work to hold corporations to account by exposing their abuse of the tax system. We believe the global economic system underpins the multiple crises of poverty, inequality, injustice and climate breakdown, rigged to benefit rich elites and profit-driven corporate interests. Our economic justice work is now focused on developing campaigns on tax, trade and debt justice as measures to transform economic policies to redistribute power and wealth for the benefit of the majority.

In recent years, War on Want has increasingly focused on the climate crisis as the most pressing ethical and political issue of our time. It is a crisis that is deeply connected to rising inequality, poverty and injustice, disproportionately impacting the world’s poorest and most marginalised. We have worked closely with allies and in coalitions to draw attention to the need for a radical, interconnected and ambitious transformation, by calling for a radical Global Green New Deal, recognising that policies and proposals to reduce global warming will only work if they are coupled with measures to fix the global economy, to reduce poverty and inequality, and to work towards a just transition for all. We see these crises as intersectional, and directly linked to our work on economic justice.

We are looking for a skilled campaigner with knowledge and experience of working on economic justice issues and on related global justice issues. The role will focus on delivering our ongoing policy and campaigning including its interlinkages with climate justice.
