The Directorate of Development & Alumni Relations is seeking a creative and motivational leader to nurture, challenge and inspire our growing development team to deliver a bold and innovative strategy to support our new and exciting university-wide fundraising campaign. This opportunity presents the potential to raise transformational gifts at the 6, 7 and 8 figure level from a portfolio of alumni, non-alumni, companies, trusts & foundations and institutional funders. The role reports into the Director of Advancement and will play a key part in shaping the future direction of our Aberdeen 2040 strategic vision.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrable track record in raising major philanthropic gifts together with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to build relationships across a large and complex landscape and to inspire and motivate a growing team of people will be equally important. The role is offered with flexible and hybrid working options. A relocation would also be supported with a financial package.

Working closely with our Head of Policy and our Communication Team, you will lead on the development and implementation of a political engagement strategy in support of our work and form effective working relationships with key ministerial departments in Whitehall, including civil servants and advisors, together with cross-party politicians in Westminster and their staff teams to enable delivery of our policy goals.
We’ll also ask you to lead on our engagement with the national parliaments and assembles in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland plus local authority elected members as required.
The ideal candidate will already have experience in a public affairs role with a strong understanding of current affairs and the political arena in Westminster and Whitehall. You will be a self-starter with experience of working with politicians, advisors and civil servants in support of defined goals.

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. In 2024 we embarked on our new 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it.
About the role
The Head of Quality and Member Service is a key role which will suit someone who enjoys the balancing of operational focus alongside working with external partners to develop and grow our services. You will oversee all aspects of quality and service delivery across our Skylight Services in Brent. This includes Engagement & Assessment, Coach Lead working, Learning, Volunteering and Member Involvement.
The role will lead operationally to ensure the services we provide have the greatest impact, are of the highest quality and is in compliance with internal case management standards and safeguarding practices. You will support and lead the local operational management team, providing guidance and oversight of all daily operations. Working alongside internal and external colleagues, the post-holder will get involved in our collaborative place-based working towards ending homelessness in Brent, including the Built for Zero work.

We’re looking for a driven, collaborative, and ambitious individual with a wealth of experience in managing and delivering exceptional events across a diverse fundraising portfolio. You’ll be equally at home overseeing our London Marathon team of 100+, orchestrating a bespoke trek across the Sahara, or running a prestigious awards evening or high-value gala dinner. With outstanding stewardship and people management at your core, you’ll have a sharp eye for spotting opportunities for both the team and individuals within the team and a passion for innovating new ways to raise vital funds through events.
You’ll bring the energy to hit the ground running, seamlessly stepping into our established events programme and building on its incredible success. Confident in managing seven-figure budgets and delivering on ambitious targets, you’ll help drive forward our mission to defeat brain tumours faster.
Key accountabilities:

Manage and deliver a year-round events fundraising programme which includes maximising challenge events, achieving 6 figure income from our flagship mass participation walking event and continuing to grow engagement

Deliver on and refine our six-year fundraising strategy, building and maintaining a good understanding of the needs of each of our programmes (challenge, flagship, special, and operational), priorities and desired charitable goals

Lead on the strategy for our flagship event; The Twilight Walk to develop it to a £1m income generating event over the next three years

Identify events, both new and existing, to acquire new audiences from and effectively grow our portfolio both in participation and income

Work closely with the Philanthropy and Partnerships teams to develop and deliver our new Special Events programme. Identify new event opportunities for high value income to support our existing and core activity and lead on delivery and execution of those events

Deliver best in class events which meet and exceed fundraising targets and garner positive recognition across the sector

Develop our stewardship programme and supporter care, maximising cross selling opportunities to ensure continued support across all event activities within our portfolio

Develop appropriate budgets in collaboration with other members of the team

Maintain effective monitoring practices to identify new event opportunities

Lead, manage, develop and inspire the team of three Senior Events Officers, two Events Officers, an Events Assistant and an Intern, overseeing projects and ensuring activities meet objectives

Ensure all processes and procedures are in place and adhered to for all events including income coding, risk assessments, data protection and updating our CRM (Salesforce)

Work with the Marketing and Digital team to develop and deliver marketing plans to ensure we achieve target numbers of participants for all events

About the Role
We are now recruiting for a Fundraising and Grant Management Specialist to support the Senior Leadership Team in developing and implementing Hibiscus’ Fundraising & Partnerships Strategy.
The successful candidate will be motivated and passionate about the rights of migrant women affected by the criminal justice and immigration systems, and will workThis post holder will identify and plan funding approaches in support of the organisation’s aims and objectives. They will manage current funding relationships whilst developing strong relationships with new funders who can support the charity’s work long-term. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a rolling programme of applications, planning compelling and targeted proposals in support of Hibiscus’ work and develop a fundraising database to track applications. This will involve exploring opportunities for Hibiscus to diversify its funding, working with SLT and the board to identify and cultivate strategically appropriate contacts. The post holder will also be responsible for ensuring stakeholder engagement by producing reports and updates for doners and trusts, facilitating the trauma-informed participation of Hibiscus’ service users in fundraising and establishing good working relationships with colleagues. They will play an active role in communicating relevant information to colleagues, and will work with colleagues to develop impactful, meaningful and data driven proposals.
The successful candidate be responsible for maintaining Hibiscus’ fundraising and development libraries, resources, and directories, including accurate records to monitor feedback. They will support the management of a case studies library, and work as part of the wider team, encouraging dialogue, promoting understanding and championing the work of Hibiscus.

About You

Chance to Shine is a national children’s charity. We change young people’s lives through cricket giving them the opportunity to play, learn and develop through the sport. We keep them physically active, teach them vital skills like teamwork, communication and leadership. And above all, they have fun.
Chance to Shine takes cricket to new places and uses it to ignite new passions, teach vital skills, unite diverse groups, and educate young people from Cornwall to Canterbury to County Durham.
Since 2005 our Chance to Shine Schools programme has helped reverse the decline of cricket in state schools with millions of boys and girls in over 13,000 state schools playing and learning through cricket. Chance to Shine Street supports young people in under-served communities to access and benefit from cricket in a free, inclusive, fun and fast-paced tape ball environment.
The Fundraising Team is tasked with helping Chance to Shine achieve its ambition, securing new funding partnerships and the stewardship of existing donors across a range of funding streams: Corporate, Events, Trusts and Foundations, Individual giving, and statutory funding to support the delivery of Chance to Shine programmes.
We are looking for an individual with experience of prospect research within the charitable sector, who can lead the prospect research, pipeline management, and information management function within the Fundraising team. The person in this role will have excellent attention to detail and a keen analytical eye to enable the fundraising team to succeed.
The role does not require an understanding of cricket but does require an enthusiasm towards changing children and young people’s lives.
Purpose of the role
We are seeking a Prospect Research Officer working 3 days / 22.5 hrs per week, who will work across the fundraising team to research and identify individuals, trusts and foundations, and corporates whose values and interests align with Chance to Shine’s mission. By doing so, you will be making a major contribution to growing the charity's high value supporter base; and to maximizing its engagement with existing and potential supporters.
The post holder will:
- Lead on the research for new business prospects across all fundraising streams (individuals, trusts and foundations, corporates)
- Create detailed briefs for key stakeholders at Chance to Shine events
- Lead on the pipeline management process, ensuring records are up-to-date

Key Responsibilities
Prospect research
- Deliver high quality prospect research briefings on individuals, trusts, and corporates for the fundraising team, members of the charity’s senior leadership as well as senior volunteers and board members.
