As our Senior Accountant & Finance Business Partner, you will play a crucial role in providing financial insight, advice and support to key stakeholders across the organisation. You will be a trusted adviser to non-finance teams helping them to understand financial data and make informed decisions. You will be a key element of the high-performing and credible finance team, supporting both the Head of Finance, the Management Accountant and the Assistant Accountant in operational finance and in ongoing delivery of accurate financial information on which the business partnering relies.

To be successful in this role you will have strong analytical skills, providing financial analysis, forecasting and budgeting advice to drive performance and operational efficiency. You will have the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, collaborating with a variety of stakeholders across the RCR. Having strong commercial acumen, you will be able to communicate with and influence a range of audiences effectively with an understanding that strong, reliable financial data is the foundation of a successful business and is a primary deliverable.

You will be a pivotal player within the finance team delivering an excellent service to teams across the RCR. What you’ll do: 

• Deliver a decision support service to managers and directors to deliver improved financial performance outcomes for the RCR.
• Ensure that partners use effective financial controls over their spend and income conforming to RCR’s policies and to optimise RCR’s outcomes.
• Support the partners in the production of outturn forecasts, budgets and multiyear financial plans that conform to RCR’s financial needs.
• Provide effective analytical insight and advice to partners and Head of Finance to maximise the return on investment and support for implementing change to improve outcomes. 
• Supporting RCR’s regular financial and non-financial performance reporting with analytical advice, insight and commentaries. 
• Support the wider finance team in delivering timely management information 
• Help with system development within the finance team such as upgrades
• Cover for the Head of finance in their absence.

What you’ll need:

• Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc)
• Experience of both financial business partnering role and accounting role.
• Excellent commercial skills, including the ability to lead or support negotiations and to influence and motivate others.
• Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical/non-professional audiences. 
• An enquiring and analytical mindset with the ability to spot risks, to dig further to follow up on problems and work through issues to offer practical solutions.
• Experience of collaborative work across functions to support others in delivering tasks and projects.

Working closely with our CEO and Senior Management Team, a key part of the role is ensuring that we have effective organisational governance, contracting and HR systems in place. You will also support all aspects of HR, working with our HR Advisor to support recruitment processes, staff checks, induction, and development for our staff team.

The successful applicant will have excellent people skills, the ability to develop and maintain administrative organisational systems, and be happy getting involved in a range of different work. Experience of the charity sector, and experience of supporting HR, would be an asset but are not essential.

About the Team:
The Sanitation Senior Advisor is a senior position in the WASH Technical Effectiveness team, reporting to the Sanitation Lead. WASH Technical Effectiveness is part of the Programme Support & Knowledge team (PSK), a key unit of the WaterAid UK International Programmes Department (IPD) operating in 17 African and Asian countries.  PSK is a diverse and motivated group of 20+ technical specialists and advisors, passionate about bringing sustainable WASH to the world’s poorest and most marginalised people. PSK leads and supports organisation-wide programme learning and knowledge management, collating and disseminating programme knowledge and facilitating knowledge exchange. The team provides technical advisory expertise and fosters and supports internal and external programme and technical partnerships and networks. The team also leads on developing normative programme documents and standards and advise and support the delivery of a programme capacity enhancement strategy. PSK collaborates with many functions across the organisation including policy, advocacy, campaigns, fundraising, communications, as well as with WaterAid partners and collaborators.

About the Role:
The Sanitation Senior Advisor is a senior position in the WASH Technical Effectiveness team, reporting to the Sanitation Lead.  Together with the Sanitation Lead, the Senior Advisor co-leads the delivery of core team responsibilities regarding the thematic areas of sanitation and other closely associated topics.  Applying a people-centred, systems strengthening approach to WASH, she/he provides high quality specialist technical analysis, advisory, and support services to the design, inception, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and/or assessments of WaterAid’s programming worldwide, at both strategic and operational levels.

In collaboration with country, regional and global colleagues, she/he co-leads the facilitation of effective learning and management of technical and programme knowledge across the organisation, and co-leads the development of relevant standards and guidance.  She/he also provides strategic and technical input to fundraising, communications, and external engagements.

The Senior advisor has a high degree of independent and professional responsibility within own specialist areas, and discusses with her/his line manager to agree on how objectives are delivered.  She/he is seen as a thematic authority and is able to handle highly challenging technical assignments.  With a good understanding of organisational dynamics and ways of working, she/he is expected to effectively collaborate widely across WaterAid, facilitating joined-up and comprehensive efforts to advance WaterAid’s programming globally.

About You:

• Strong technical experience in developing, and implementing sanitation approaches, services delivery and management models, resilience and sustainability of services, environmental sanitation, sanitary engineering, wastewater and drainage, and/or other inter-related topics across different settings, demonstrated through a progressive career record. 
• A relevant post-Graduate degree or equivalent work experience. 
• Strong experience in offering technical assistance, consulting, and/or advisory services to empower and to develop capacities of sanitation service providers, operators, local and national governments as well as INGO/CSO partners.  
• Ability to handle highly specialized, unusual, and challenging technical assignments, resolve complex issues in practical and imaginative ways. 
• Strong writing and communication ability in English. Experienced in producing practical knowledge products targeting needs of diverse audiences and effective peer-learning and sharing of good practices and lessons. 
• Organised and efficient. Demonstrated ability to drive tasks forward to completion in a timely manner while maintaining high quality.  
• A team player, able to work responsibly, under pressure, and collaboratively across diverse groups and culture. 
• Working style that reflects WaterAid’s values of Respect, Accountability, Courage, Collaboration, Integrity and Innovation.  
• Solid IT skills, particularly with core Microsoft Office software. 
• Ability to travel internationally up to 30%. 

Although not essential, we also prefer you to have:

• Relevant technical experience in systems strengthening, urban planning, behaviour change, private sector engagement, sector financing, gender, inclusion, environment and/or other WASH-related topics. 
• Working knowledge in French, Portuguese, Spanish, and/or any language widely spoken in the countries where WaterAid has programming.

We need you to play a key role in the delivery and development of CRUK's International Cancer Prevention (ICP) programme through the design and delivery of policy research, advocacy and capacity building programmes in low-and-middle income countries, and related policy initiatives for the assigned cancer prevention area. This post has a current focus on Cervical Cancer prevention, though this may evolve over time.

What will I be doing?

• With support, designing and deliver policy research, advocacy and capacity building programmes with partners in low-and-middle income countries from project scoping through to monitoring and evaluation. This may include grants, partnerships and commissioned research.

• Ensuring effective management of current portfolio of Cervical Cancer Prevention grants, including appropriate reporting, monitoring, evaluation and learning

• Supporting current partners to develop their policy research and advocacy work and contribute to capacity building as required

• Leading day-to-day co-ordination of the Cervical Cancer Action for Elimination (CCAE) civil society network, in collaboration with the American Cancer Society, including delivery of online events and initiatives

• Working with internal and external partners to influence sub-national/national/regional/global policy

• Identifying relevant actors that CRUK could support with funding and/or partnership to advance cancer control in LMICs

• Developing expertise in relevant cancer prevention area(s), including knowledge of relevant WHO, global, regional and national strategies and frameworks

You will collaborate closely with our internal colleagues, particularly the Senior Policy Advisor for Research and Healthcare, to enhance the availability of clinical trials. Your work will involve analysing policy issues, identifying solutions, and preparing briefing documents for senior colleagues.

Engagement with a variety of stakeholders, including clinicians, researchers, and people with MND, is key. You will also liaise with organisations such as the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), and NHS England, communicating the MND Association's positions through policy papers, briefings, and reports.

Additionally, you will support our public affairs and campaigning efforts to influence politicians and decision-makers on issues related to access to treatments. This includes conducting research, producing policy reports, and organising consultation meetings, seminars, and conferences.

About the role:

In this role, you will provide essential administrative support to a specialised Cases Unit, playing a key part in its day-to-day functions. Your responsibilities will include managing and organising case documents, coordinating meetings, facilitating communication with legal teams, and assisting in casework activities. Your attention to detail and organisational skills will ensure the efficient operation of the unit, contributing to the overall success of its work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and improve the Unit's document management system to ensure efficient tracking, retrieval, and organisation of casework materials.
• Manage and update key logs, including Excel spreadsheets, to support ongoing Unit activities.
• Prepare and organise evidence bundles using the case management system, including redacting sensitive information for review by the Independent Decision-Making Body.

About Lepra

Lepra is dedicated to addressing leprosy and lymphatic filariasis (LF) and their consequences through direct support, advocacy, and the promotion of inclusive communities. We work in Bangladesh and in India, through our sister organisation, LEPRA Society. We work in partnership with people affected by leprosy and LF to improve detection, ensure access to treatment and care, and promote inclusion and wellbeing. We have just finalised our new Global Strategy for 2024-30, which will guide us in our efforts to accelerate progress towards global targets for leprosy and LF, and towards our vision of a world free from leprosy and LF.

Job Context

Our new Global Strategy introduces some new approaches and priorities to our work, including: our first ever global Theory of Change (ToC), the most detailed Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) approach ever, and a sub-strategy dedicated to research, innovation and technology: the Global Research, Innovation and Technology Strategy (GRITS). With the finalisation of the new strategy, and as part of our ongoing commitment to improving our impact and efficiency, we are now seeking a consultant to provide specialised research support and technical advice.

Job Purpose

The primary objectives of this role are to lead the transitional phase of the GRITS, creating a detailed operational plan for its implementation; support the management of the existing research portfolio ensuring technical soundness, budget adherence and timely delivery; establish a sustainable pathway for research expertise to be led by in-country professionals.

Strategic Leadership

• Lead the transitional phase of the GRITS.

The role

We are looking for an experienced advisor to join our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee as Chair of our external EDI Committee. There will be a minimum of four two-hour sessions each year. Advisors have a term of 3 years, with the option to complete a maximum of 2 terms.
