About us
Who we are
The Cardinal Hume Centre has supported people facing poverty and the risk of homelessness for over 35 years. We stick proudly to the ethos of our founder Cardinal Basil Hume, who was passionate about the potential found in every young person or child; he knew every life is precious. Based in Westminster, we provide a place of welcome, sanctuary and professional support.
We focus our efforts on young people, children and families in need. We want to tackle homelessness, poor housing and poverty now, and break its cost and cycle into later life. We see the value in each individual and nurture potential, helping young people, children and their families to thrive.
Our vision. The Centre strives towards a society where every individual has a safe place to live and the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Our mission. The Centre enables families, children and young people to overcome poverty and avoid homelessness.
